3k hands todayz~_~ by Fayth, February 15

So i played 3000 hands as stated today and it was kind of a fine run, except the end, and somewhere i got into a setup for 150bb against a 60vpip monkey.

I still think i played pretty solid! I had to play enough so i'd get to over 2k pts by tonight and redeem it for 150$ more, all is fine, it's done and i'm up!

http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/8903/feb15db0.jpg

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/146788 KK didn't pay off too much today but i made this fine laydown, villain was 12/7/3 and i had played over 2.5k hands with him, i knew where i stood there

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/146854 Here i 3bet light trying to get it from the start and flopped top pair... figured i was ahead lol, guess i was wrong I still think he made a bad call.. somewhat, cuz i rarely ever 3bet light like this. He had no reads.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/146855 Hmm as i stated earlier, this was the 60 vpip monkey, i even thought of laying down the hand cuz she seemed to repop with the pot button only when holding the nuts or well something really strong.. i just had that feeling.. alas i couldn't lay down and lost

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/146856 i'm really not the type to fold AA, but this guy only play his cards and well.. i didn't put him on anything i beat.. i might be a bit result oriented here but i suppose it was a decent fold, his turn bet looked like some value bet where he wanted a call from a worse hand..

Ah well i'm eager to move to PP, Loco's playing there tonite and the players seems like total garbage, i shud be overrolled enough to play NL100 by the time i get to PP!

cheers!

21k hands at 100NL by JYang, February 15

http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p306/johnwang1/disgustinrun.jpg

i usually look over all the regulars play in my database to get good info and most of the sux cox. i guess i have to work on my attention deficit disorder soon. i still spew a bit. i dont know why i cant just sit there and think about every hand while it's being played and i only 4 table now. anythin less makes me bored and surf LP while playing. I guess LP has a bad influence on gettin a bit higher levels because it does teach a very solid poker style and yea i think that's all u need to win. but to maximize values u gotta make ur own reads and go with ur guts obv.

anyway being the big jew i am i still have like $5600 on my online accounts. hording money is fun, anyone else do it?

Live Update // a few MTT cashes by Benzooor, February 15

So Monday night, I was texted about another .50/1$ cash game, and went over.

It was a full 9-person game as usual;
I bought in with only 60$, as I had to loan a friend 60$. I lost a few hands to some bad plays and some bad luck; but made a few good laydowns. I busted down to 10$, rebought with anothe 60$ from a buddy, and built that up to about 180$ before the following:

I was in MP, an opponent in EP bumped to 5$ to go, I re-raised to 15$ with AcQs. This opponent had been raising to 5$ very often and I figured I was the favorite. The button ended up calling the 15$, as did the opponent in EP.

The Flop came:

TdJcKh

I had flopped the nuts!

The opponent in EP thought about it for a while, and then pushed for 84$!

This is where I fucked up. I called his all-in almost instantly. I completely discounted the person on the button, assuming he'd get out of the way with two callers.

He looks at me and flips over TcTh.. He thought about it for a good 5 minutes and folded, deciding that I either hit a stronger set or AQ.

The player in EP was trying to steal with QhJh, and no help came for him, so I took down the pot, but I was upset with myself!

If I hadn't gotten excited; completely disregarded the button and insta-called, I would have gotten at LEAST another 84$ more from the button. I put him on a weak hand because he had thought for a long time about calling the initial raise, and was just coming off of a big hand. He usually played loose for a while after big hand victories, I put him on a hand like 66, 78s, or 89s. He had about 200$ behind him, I could very easily have double up from him and taken down a 400$+ pot.

STUPID STUPID STUPID!

But, you learn something new every day. On the plus side, I've picked up some good reads on alot of the regulars, and was able to put that to good use by making some good folds nad good bluffs. I cashed with a little more than 300$, so it was still a good amount of profit, althought I was upset with myself on my blunders.

******************************************

Online, I decided to enter a 5,000$ guaranteed, and got 7th out of 500 or so players, netting me 180$ (woohoo); I would have liked to win it, but my A9 paired on the flop and ran into AK.

Then I played a 6,000$ guaranteed rebuy right afterwards, and rode that to I think 16th or so w/o rebuying or adding on, for about 76$ or so.

So my bodog account grew up pretty well and now I can sit and play 10$ max tourneys, and a few 10$ 5k guaranteeds without any worries, and hopefully grow that pretty well.

Cheers!

4 hour session by PetrBlaha, February 15

Since I have to stay at pacific poker to gambol 2000$ (which is pretty rediculous for nl25 player)I rushed into mighty 4 tables and played for about 4 hours.

The beginning was really really cool, I've build stack ~70$ just to lose it with 88 at 55x98 board vs oponnent who had 99. Then I lost once again boat vs boat find myself struggling at ~380$. But I didn't feel like dropping level yet because I had good feeling about my play (but not about sweet mother Luck). After 3 hours later I've managed to grind (with 1x AA and 1x KK in this WHOLE session) to 444$acumulating 31 comp points (150 left !).

God, this sounds too egoistic, but today I really felt good about my play.

About my plans for future. When I will clear bonus at pacific poker I will move all my cash to UB to play with 30% rakeback + that 100% deposit bonus. I hope I will manage to build enough roll for NL50 asap without any stupid downswing

15th February 07
BR : 444$ (+12$)
stakes :0.10/0.25$

Swingy Day by tae-g, February 15

Summary: -1BI,+6BI,-3BI,+1.5BI

I ended up decent I guess. I usually try to quit after Im up like 4 or 5 BI but every time Im about to quit lee jones knows it and deals me all QQ KK AA on all my tables and I lose big pots with all of them so I feel like I need to make the money back.

When I was about to quit the first time i got dealt AA on three tables. I got it all in pf on 2 of them
1) vs 88, spikes and 8 on the turn
2) vs KQo, flop comes KKx
3) third got folded around to pf raise

Second time I got up a few buyins I get dealt 3 tables of KK and 1 of AA. Luckily I only lost with one hand of KK to a set of 10's.

Running good again. by DustySwedeDude, February 15

Ok, since the last period of stupid bad beat post I decided to witdraw like 3k from my bankroll and invest in the stock market. I moved down to NL50, talked a bit with Saki who said something along the lines of “it’s hard to have a good downswing lower then NL100 because everyone is just horrible!” and I figured that I might overdo things here. I havn’t played much the last five or six days but I’ve played pretty good. I’ve just played solid, havn’t done any complicated bluffs or hero calls but rather tried to valuebet the fuck out of the fishes and only bluff when it’s somewhat obvious that they’re weak. During the last 2.5k hands I’ve made 16bb/100 hands, which is obvisouly party due to running good, but also some decent play. Anyway, from now on I’ll try to be a bit more aggressive with my bankroll. I’ll probably start playing NL100 when I hit 2k and just try to move up permanently asap. I think that I’ll probably play better under a bit more pressure and I’ll not play as sloppy anymore.

Also, since I learned that Saki lives kinda close to me I’ve made it my new goal for the year to stack him in some live game. That’d pwn.

Poker is ez by SakiSaki, February 15

Got some stuff i ordered from full tilt today. A new ipod video 30 gb that kicks ass, going to be a challenge to fill it with just music though. Also got some books (Hoh 1-3, NLTAP) hopefully these will be of some help.

But the most baller thing of all, I got a full tilt hoodie and a red full tilt baseball cap.

I look like a fucking retard wearing it, its so awesome. Im probibly the whitest guy you will ever see wearing that gear. I ordered the hoodie in L and aparently these are mainly made for fatass americans cause its fucking huge!

Unfortunatlely I can never leave my appartment dressed in my awesome gear, but atleast I can look like a poker wigger while sessioning.

Going home to my parents this weekend so probibly wont play a whole lot of poker. Its fine though since ive been putting in pretty good hours this week and im profiting like never before.

Im running really well and playing really well so far on 400nl. It kicks ass!

Heres my graph for partypoker so far:

Jeffery1: if you like I can resend the email to you
Nietherr: but in that email wasnt anything about any problem of cashing out after those three days which I had to wait patiently
Nietherr: this is the "non advertistement" mail
Nietherr: Dear Petr,

Thank you for contacting us.

Petr, unfortunately, we will not be able to speed up the process of the
Cash Out request. so let me take this opportunity to explain the reasons
why we have a 3-day waiting policy for cash out requests.

Prior to having this policy, we received a very large quantity of recent
cash outs heading back into our system as deposits. Members were
reversing their cash outs, which in turn crippled our method of dealing
with them. Pacific Poker does not charge for deposits or cash outs as we
pay these fees out of our own pocket. This is a benefit that not all
online poker rooms offer.

We realized that we either had to impose these charges on our members,
or find another solution that would not be so burdensome. In addition to
this, our Security department requested a few days extra after the
requests for cash outs, to ensure that their security requirements were
being met. We asked our members their opinion on this matter and the
overwhelming majority preferred to receive their cash outs with a short
delay rather than to pay the fees themselves.

Hence, we decided to implement this 3 day period. This policy presented
three very significant solutions to a troublesome trio of problems:
1) Our members could now easily transfer their winnings to their
bankroll.
2) Our Security department had enough time to prevent any fraudulent
activity.
3) Pacific Poker did not start charging fees for transactions.
Nietherr: but nothing about returning my cashout back to my bankroll
Jeffery1: ok the email is as follows
Jeffery1: Dear Petr,

This is Joseph B. from the Operations Department at Cassava (Gibraltar) Ltd.
Cassava (Gibraltar) Ltd operates "Pacific Poker".

I am contacting you in regards to your Pacific Poker account with username "Nietherr".

We are pleased to see you that have made a recent cashout request from your account,
and we hope to be able to process this for you without delay. However this cashout
request does include an amount of the bonus we have previously issued to you. Each
bonus we issue has an allocated amount to wager attached, and unfortunately you
have yet to complete the wagering necessary to cashout this bonus amount.
Jeffery1: As we would like you to have your cashout as soon as possible, can we please ask you
to cancel this cashout and continue to play the bonus according to our bonus policy
wagering requirement. Since the bonus/es in question was/were issued, you have wagered
correctly $264. Therefore, in order to cashout the bonus you still need to wager (bet)
a further $1856. Alternatively we will return the cashout to the bankroll after the
regular awaiting cashout period

You can check the amount of wagering you have completed by the amount of Bonus
Points that you have received. For every $10 you wager, you receive 1 point.
When you receive a bonus please check the number of total points you currently
have, and how much wagering is required. Please note that any cash out that
includes the bonus amount will be subject to the wagering criteria.

Should you require further clarification regarding our Bonus Policy, please
visit our website http://www.pacificpoker.com and go to the "Players Club" section, where there
is a link to the Bonus Policy.

Ughh.....RunBadaments by TimDawg, February 15

Played around a 1K session last night with pretty poor results. Besides one questionable call though, I really think I was playing my A game and didn't make any mistakes. I guess it's just really frustrating seeing other LPers at 200NL have so much more success. I'm happy for them but at the same time I know I'm good enough to beat this level for a good winrate. I guess I still have a relatively small sample size (15K hands) to make any assumptions.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w177/TimDawg888/200NLDownswing.jpg

I ended up winning another buyin, but for w/e reason my PT didn't put it in the database. So I finished the session down -550 or so.

^^this is the hand where I probably should've been able to get away from. I talked it over a little bit with Cosmo, and he said 2 months ago Carrotsnake would be making the same 4 bet there with AQ, J's, and even 10's. But Carrot's play has really changed imo and his play is much more TAG and pretty solid; I think b/c I'm 3 betting an UTG raiser and Carrot 4 bets it knowing that both of our ranges are much smaller that I can assume he only does this with A's, K's, and AK; so it would be fold

Getting battered in live cash games by SneakrFreakr, February 15

I’ve just finished a huge post about my Tuesday session in Circus Casino but somehow I lost it and I’m to lazy to write it again. So let’s just say that I run like shit. I lost 4 times against flush draws when we got it allin on flop, my AQ wasn’t good against QJ on 39Q flop (J on turn obv), I got KK 3 times and every time the flop was A high, a big cooler in the end etc. etc. So I ended up losing 3 buyins (£600). If not for a couple of big bluffs, I’d be down even more. I felt I played pretty good, and I was reading my opponents very well but the luck wasn’t on my side this time. I lost a bit of confidence after this session but I did everything I could to win. I’m not worried that much about the money but I’m going to play live a bit less now. Only Fridays and/or Saturdays in G Casino from now on (they’ve got £1/£1 tables with loads of people who just learned the game rules).

Yesterday I had my last day at work (and I got battered there as well – it was valentines day and I was the only waiter this day – ridiculous) so now I’ve got like 7 months before the uni starts. From 26th Feb I’m going to start a 4-week (only 8hrs a week) English course that prepares to IELTS exam (people who’s native language isn’t English have to pass it to study at the uni in UK). I think I’d be able to pass it without this course but it’s tough for me to concentrate at home so I’ll be better off if I attend this course.

Today I spent half of my day in bed again. Time to change my habits. Oh I think I wrote about it in my previous blog entry. But yeah – I really have to do sth about it. From now on I’m also going to play a lot more poker. My goal is 40hrs a week. I also want to dedicate more time to browsing forums, watching vids on CR, analyzing my game etc. I really want to become a much better player so a full dedication is essential. I’m also going to claim my free private lesson that I won on CR like a year ago. Yes, I didn’t forget about it. It would be awesome if I could do it with sbrugby. We’ll see.

Ok that’s it for now. I’m going to watch 1 or 2 vids on CR now and play some poker in the evening (I’m going to try out Prima now).

Another crazy day... by RAHZero, February 15

Alright, so with the monster blizzard we had all day yesterday, Cornell decided to shut down in the afternoon. Which meant that I had a ton of free time. Which lead to the insane grinding session that follows:

http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5522/feb14uf9.jpg

A lot of crazy hands, suffice it to say it was a frustrating day, but very satisfying to get back into the green at the end.

Day 4 totals:
+$21.60 in 4,648 hands of NL $50

Current BR:
$2755

Overall totals:
+$237.55 in 7,273 hands of NL $50

So yeah, that's basically 6k break-even, but whatever, it could be worse.

Feburary Update. by coreyw709, February 15

Current BR: - $6030.00
Total Rake paid: - $558.00

Date: Status: Hours: Balance:

Friday, Feburary 2nd - Win 2-5 NL, Niagara 10.5 +1700.00
Friday, Feburary 2nd - Lose 1-2 NL, Niagara 3h -500.00
Saturday, Feburary 3rd- Win 2-5 NL, Niagara 6h +220.00
Monday, Feburary 5th - Win 1-2 NL, Niagara 5h +65.00
Wednesday, Feburary 7th- Deposit PokerStars -250.00
Thursday, Feburary 8th - Win 2-5 NL, Fallsview 7h +1400.00
Friday, Feburary 9th - Win 2-5 NL, Niagara 11h +1200.00
Monday, Feburary 12th - Win 5-5 NL, Fallsview 7h +600.00

Interesting Hand:

---Thursday. Feburary 8th 2-5 NL Fallsview---

3h 3c Under The gun. (8-handed)

CALL 5$(1315$), Utg+1 raise to 15$(130$), Call 15$($850), Call 15$(970$), Call 15$(105$), Button Call 15$(160$), SB Call 15$ (130$), BB Call 15$(90$).

Flop: 3s Qd 9d

I Bet 30$(1300$), UTG+1 raise to 60$(110$), Call 60$(790$), Call 60$(910$)All-in 105$(0), All-in 160$(0), All-in 115$(0), All-in 90$(0).
2 big stacks behind both with 800+ I pushed all-in for $1300.

Although it may have been the correct play to win the pot, which already contained several buy-ins, after much thought I feel the optimal play would of been to smooth call and give the larger stacks a chance to make a BIG mistake. I feel I give up some equity by letting them in for the correct price if they indeed had a draw, but I would gain much more
equity by giving them a chance to give me the rest of their stack, moreso than the risk of losing the pot by letting them in cheaply. Another good point to just calling, is seeing a turn card. If a diamond did indeed come I would be getting away from the hand as cheaply as possibly, as I feel if a
diamond did come and the larger stack bet he would most definatly have a flush. There would be no reason for him to bluff into a dry side pot, in a huge main pot. There are also many turn cards that would make it hard for a big stack to fold such as (2,3,4,5,6,7,9,Q,K,A non-diamond). For example
they held KQ,QA,Q9 they could be severaly committed by several turn cards.

Also, on another note: Ive been killing the 22$ HU NL-HE matches so far. 8/8 100% winrate. Ship it. All that Heads-up practice is finally paying off.

What a couple boring days by gawdawaful, February 14

Recap of todays session, QQ vs KK = he hits set
QQ vs A4, what else, Ace. I'm a donk and played this hand as bad as I can possibly play it

What else, set vs set, ye know, shit like that.

Yesterday sucked ass too, a couple of 2+2ers decided to talk trash on table about how they "hate LPers". To make matters worse, I ran worse than Terry Fox in a 100m dash. Lost a couple 2-3 outters, bottom set vs top 2, and my AA turned into a coin flip, which I also lost on flop.

So in the two days combined, I'm down 6 buyins over 3400 hands. Craptastic

Do NOT skip school kids by tilted fish, February 14

Well today I woke up, it was rainy and I have a long bus ride to university. I was like fuck it, I stay home read the lecture notes and of course play some Poker!

http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o59/tiltedfish/feb14.jpg

Not a good idea. I am a low variance type of player so this is not standard for me, but I took it well... a bit too well really... maybe I don't care about money anymore... and I am still a poor student. not good.
but hopefully I can make it up this weekend. Its always better on weekends

I have this hand here:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/146425

Feel free to comment on it.

--------------------
Thats poker, and about those prairie dogs, they are not so innocent! they can fuck up your garden/backyard. Me shooting them was only business, nothing personal.
but I was actually making fun of those guys with SNIPER GUNS, apparently they do this everyday for fun.
In my defense I was bored as hell and I only killed 2. I love animals I really do... not cats really... I love dogs, but I can stand cats.. I think.

Been running bad by Critterer, February 14

Running really shit, dont think my play has changed ive just been running bad =/ if it continues i may well have to drop down to $10nl again which i really dont want to do.

Finished another losing session this time down almost 4 buyins. Stupid shit like my nut fullhouse vs quads etc.

Anyway:

Session length: 5 hours
Profit: -$98

Current BR: $700

Can afford to lose about 10 more buyins i reckon before i have to move down, lets hope i run well again soon so i can stay up.

On a happier note i think im getting my pokertracker soon, my promotional thing is being verified so dunno how long that takes tho~

I'm thinking i will play NL25 until end of month, when i will transfer over to fulltilt and play there with whatever BR i got, hopefully enuff to continue NL25 there.

The Grand Canyon by Fayth, February 14

So i played a 6 hours session, or something like that, i think the first 2-3 hours i played kinda bad, made some horrible calls, i felt tired, then i went upstair to get something to eat and started focusing, the cards kinda went my way as well. There's actually something missing in my PT which is a 220$ pot that i won, flopped nut flush against a complete donkey who was deepstack and just put all his money on the line on river when there was 4 hearts out there and all he had was top pair. So yeah i lost 6 buy ins then won like 10 or 11.

I also might move to partypoker soon as everyone seems to be doing amazingly well there, i'm glad i'm not american!
