| | Playing the flush line by NHL_94, February 19
Today I got it all in on the flop with a set vs preflop raiser with a c/r line, usually used for flush draws. He obliged me by reraising my flop bet and we got it all in on the flop. He had TPTK. This is the reason why you take pot control lines in these pots, but I am thankful they did not.
Winnings today: 130
Total Poker Roll: 3750

| | Teh Stockz market by DustySwedeDude, February 19
Ok so pokerwise I havn't played much the last few days but I'm up a few buyins. Anyway, I've been investing most of my winnings in stocks now and at one point I cashed out everything except 800 USD. I'm back at about 1.5k now and I'll be a bit more aggressive with my BR management from now on. Anyway, I've been running good with teh stockz this month and I'm basicly up 11% on the first money I put in in the beginning of the january and I put about 3k more in today.
My total investments are now worth about 6k and I'm very happy with that. Since it's just poker money I can be somewhat aggressive with it and currently I've got my money in uranium, oil and stem cells.
UR-ENERGY INC - (ure.to) - uranium in North America
Vitrolife - Stem cells and stuff, kinda longshotish.
Lundin Oil - (lupe:SAX) - Oil in Russia, Norway, Sudan etc
Vena Resources Inc - (VEM.V) - mining in Peru, uranium and other metals.
Anyway, if anyone wants some tips or has any questions about this you can just post it here or PM me. I'm no expert by any means but I've got a decent idea about this and I've got some kick ass links (in Swedish unfortunatly) if someone wants to know more about then energy sector.

| | PokerTek Poker Pro Table Review by Karma, February 19
EDIT: Ok apparently the word rap on the blog page doesn't work and I can't be fucked fixing it
so if you want to read this with proper word rap it's going to be easier to go to this link:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/blog/viewblog.php?id=157184
In case you don't know what I'm talking about you can read about it HERE
Last year we had a topic about this the general consensus was that it would suck, even I agreed with that sentiment
http://www.liquidpoker.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=62669
But I played at these tables the other night at Crown Casino (Where Aussie Millions is held so it's a decent poker room) and I think they are actually pretty good. The main complaints that people seemed to have in the previous thread was that it distracted from the atmosphere, that it might be easy to cheat by looking at the cards and that it was pointless, I'll address those in…
GOODKARMA'S OFFICIAL POKER PRO REVIEW!
I went with a few friends on Friday night and the immediate benefit was no waiting, normally at crown you usually have to wait for like 10-20 minutes and sometimes longer, at least on a Friday or Saturday night, but this time I was able to sit down almost straight away because you just look for a vacant seat and go and sit down. They give you this card thing that you put credit on at the cashier and you just insert it and buyin. One advantage (especially for lower limit players) was the limits at Crown went as low as .5/1$ with a 50bb max buyin, which is good compared to the normal buyins. For example you buyin for $50 max at the $1/2 dealer tables (emetique). They also had $2/4 FL as opposed to the lowest dealer tables being $5/10 FL. I would assume other casinos would adopt a similar policy of offering lower limits on the electronic tables
The coolest thing I found was that you get the opportunity to play shorthanded vs the casinofish, often at the Casino (At Crown anyway) you basically have to play high enough that there aren't enough players for a full table if you want to play shorthanded (like $10/20 or something). But there I was playing 3 handed vs the hilariously bad casinofish and BANKIN! (obv). So that was probably the coolest aspect of the technology
Also the hand rate is MUCH faster and no dealer fuckups (Like the dealer taking your cards when you open raise pf, it's happened to me ) or stringbetting etc to contend with which was a major bonus. Also I always get carpal tunnel at the casino from continuous shuffling so this helped me spare my precious wrist for more fruitful activities . I was probably getting 60 hands an hour at the full tables (9 playaz) and obviously many more when playing shorthanded. Anyone who's played casino NL knows how mindgrindingly slow it is (Full ring hand rates in the teens if your dealer sucks and the game is loose) so this was a welcome change
The atmosphere was still good as well (Chatty players etc, probably depends on table, you get dead table with dealers too) and the play was equally as loose as the normal tables so no complaints there. People also didn’t seem to take losing nearly as badly and I didn’t here any “fucking rigged damn computer” complaints either so normal fish didn’t seem to mind it either
There are also a few cool features like showing high/low cards as well folding and show last to act and all that shit too so your actions aren't really limited compared to normal casino play. There are also functions to automuck and call a floor person over if someone is being a faggot so it’s all there
You can rebuy to the max easily, look at the previous hand and see the exact pot amount and stack sizes, which makes it a lot easier to make decisions in regards to bet/raise amounts which is sometimes a problem at the casino. Also there's a confirm button for actions so it’s difficult to make misclicks etc.
In regard to looking at the other player's hands it's really quite easy to prevent any cheating. The way to show you cards is you put your hand on the touchscreen in a cupping shape around the card animation and the cards kinda flip up so you see he corner like you would normally. Also the screens are covered with some substance which makes it impossible view them from an angle so there’s really only a cheating threat from the players directly next to you which is easy to negate if you use your hands in the normal way. It’s not like people and trying to cheat anyway so it’s not a big deal
Another problem is that one of the tables seemed to randomly lag a little, which was a rare occurrence but a little annoying nonetheless. Also my screen was a little screwy but that seemed to be only a problem with my screen. I used the card to touch the screen buttons as opposed to my hand and it worked fine, probably some aids ridden junkie had wiped his greasy hands on it causing it to not register my finger so it's all good . The touch screens are generally pretty reactive though and don't fuck up much, hardly a major inconvenience.
So yeah overall I think they are cool, of course there is a slight loss of atmosphere without real cards and chips and dealer but I’m not a chip butterflyin’ card flickin’ dealer antagonisin’ balla so I don’t really care. If you’re going to the casino to make money and play some shorthanded low limit live pokah then these tables are the obvious choice. If you like chatting to other players about how gay the dealer is and doing chip tricks then you might want to stick to the normal dealer tables but otherwise poker pro is the way to go

| | An Update by iop, February 19
Well,
I actually haven't been playing that much poker, I just haven't found the time to play. I lost about half my roll playing drunk, but thats ok - no biggy. Anyways I don't think I'll have time to play this week either. I'm not dependent on poker since I have a regular job. I work at an IT company as a Site Manager (08:00-17:00). But I will play a poker tournament tomorrow at work. In Sweden we have something called "lagpokerligan" which is a poker league. Our company has a team playing and we finished in 5th place (out of 12) last time. We have 4-5 pro's whom are already in the team. I myself will try to win this tournament so I can get on the team. Next sunday, I might play the 500+100 tournament at the Casino here in Stockholm (depends on when I get back from visiting my friends in the south of Sweden (Malmö). So if any of the swedish fellows are interested in playing the freezout, send me a PM and we can meet up before the tournament starts.

| | February so far by Fayth, February 18
I recently moved up at NL100 like stated earlier, and well i've been running really hot lol, 2 big pots are missing there so it might be about 20bb/100. I feel it's easier than NL50.. i can actually make plays and make them fold, 3 bet light works, c-bets works far more.. and well i'm getting cards lol
I'm hoping to run over NL100 and move up to NL200 fast, would be neat
So that's how february looks so far!

| | Ugh... by RAHZero, February 18
For some reason, I always lose big on Saturdays. Last Saturday I played during the day and had my worst NL $50 day ever, yesterday I played late at night with similar results. Saturday nights seem really high variance, I had to play for my stack a TON last night. A couple rough beats, a couple standard coolers, and a long stretch where I just couldn't catch a hand and I ended up down quite a bit. Looks like I'll finish out the first 10 days at NL $50 and see where I'm at. So far today I'm break-even over a few hundred hands of NL, up a bit in tourneys and down a bit in limit, up a little overall.
Day 7 totals:
-$193 (PT missed a hand, trying to get UB to e-mail the HH, so total is based on my BR number) in 1,710 hands of NL $50
Current BR:
$3,006
Overall totals:
+$334.80 in 11,609 hands of NL $50
+$156.95 in bonuses / RB

| | Unprofitable by goodguysm, February 18
I strongly feel that 10nl is no longer profitable by playing a nitty setmining style.
I've been setmining for the past 100k hands, and I've made almost nothing.
My BR is at 370.
I'm going to start nitting up on the .02/.05 tables.
I tried changing my style, then going back to sethunting, but it hasn't worked.
I just played a 1k hand session, and all that's happened was TTT vs KKK, KK vs AA,
I didn't get paid off once, in the 5 sets i've hit.
I got paid of exactly once, pf allin with Kk vs A2 -_-
There are not enough loose players on 10nl FR.
I will try to build my BR on .02/.05,
Any ideas?
EDIT: And my basic game isn't that bad, I beat .01/.02 with a winrate of about 10bb/100hands
I went straight to 10nl FR, and it hasn't been going well since then.

| | Nitfish! by SakiSaki, February 18
Was home at my parents this weekend so didnt play all that much. Kinda nice to take some time of poker and do other shit. Got back today and just finished a pretty big session of 8tabling 400nl. The games are sooooo fishy on weekends, I love it. I should start getting drunk on the weekdays and stay sober on weekends. I loose alot of precious money by being drunk/hung over.
Stylewise, I have gone from being a lagfish to standard tagfish and now im probibly best klassified as a nitfish. Im still playing really agressive and i 3-bet very light preflop so im not that worried about turning into Doomer.
Obviously im still running really good. Im hoping this is a lifelong heater.
http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/8318/bbbbao6.png
My plan was to stay on 400nl for quite some time, but I have changed my mind. Im soon pretty well rolled for 3/6 and Im going to start taking some shots during weekends/when games looks fishy.
I dunno though. Im actually thinking of switching sites. I got this offer of up to 50% rakeback on a cryptologic site so that would be pretty sweet. Not leaving until my heater is over though, dont wanna jinx anything.

| | I finally came back :) by Gawuss, February 18
I didn't write about it earlier cause I was pretty busy with all packing etc. I have been on camp in Slovakia with my friends. Obviously we were drunk almost every day, Slovakia is known as cheap-alcohol country I have not that much time to write you about all crazy things, which I saw there hahhha :D Ok so now I'm alone in my house ( there's just my older brother) because my parents went gone to the mountains so I'll be able to make few partys obv :D
And I come back to poker. One week break made me feel better and I'm starting with playing tomorrow ( please - no downswings anymore ! )

| | I love pacific poker <3 <3 <3 by PetrBlaha, February 18
Thanks god they didn't let me cashout from pacific poker because those fishes there are so great at giving away money. I don't know what to say else about this so let numbers speak for themself
18th February 07
BR : 607$ (+83$) (about 50bb/100hands !)
stakes :0.10/0.25$
On the other hand, we have discussion with Joe about where to move after completing bonus thingy at pacific. Do you guys think that UB competition is not too tough? I have 2 options I think, first is UB (100% deposit bonus, 30% rakeback) and then Joe thought that Mansion would be cool too (same bonuses and 36% rakeback).
I dunno I'd certainly want to try UB because I like that software but if mansion would be better with softness and rakeback which are 2 main factors while creating proper BR for higher limits I should maybe go there

| | Still can't win by jonyy6788, February 17
Lost 4 buyins today....whatever! I never win on the weekends and I have no clue why. I must have a psychological problem with playing when I have time to play. My sessions on the weekends are going to be much more structured from now on. Probably won't play much tomorrow.
