Players beware: Future of poker may be virtual

No chips to stack, cards to flip, or dealer to tip. Could this be the future of casino poker?

A North Carolina company hopes to hit the jackpot with electronic card tables. PokerTek has already won converts in cruise ships and on Indian reservations.

Now the company is gambling that poker players across the country will be willing to give up a felt table for a computer touch screen.

The electronic poker is almost identical to a regular table. But it is fully automated. That leaves little room for error or confusion about whose turn it is to bet, raise, check or fold.

PokerTek C-E-O Lou White says the electronic poker increases efficiency over a dealer-run tale. That saves money for casinos and players who don't have to foot the cost of a dealer's salary.

well, i guess they could introduce multi tabling at casino's. so basically pokering at a casino becomes relative to playing like counter strike or starcraft over lan. fun fun.

How about a software that a nice software with some nice boxes with some advertisements. And EVERY pot, is rakes with 0.10c except for micro limits every pot rakes 0.01c

They would still make a lot of money, they wouldn't be as rich, but with the time this will grab a good % of all the players online if I had the money i would plan this and go for it, I don't care about if i have a marginal profit at the begining, in the long run it's gonna be a damn good business.

Do casinos even offer micro limits? Seems like if you have $5 to spend, the Casino wont really give a crap if you play or not.
