Well, it is nearing the end of the school year for me and that means I will have to get a summer job. Because of the small nature of my hometown, the selection of jobs is very small. I do not want to get stuck working where I did last year (Food Lion, bleh) and will do almost anything to stop my return to this establishment created in hell.
Thus, I want to pick up online poker again. I had taken a break from poker in general in order to unstress myself and concentrate on school, but now I do not have to worry about things like that for a couple months.
The problem is I have no way of getting money on to Stars. Soooo, I am now humbly asking someone to aid me in my quest for no summer job at Food Lion. If you would like to help, please just pm me and we can work out the details. Thanks everyone.
And because it's been a while since i've last posted here, everyone gets the special treat of TWO comics:

| | Sunday tourney by curtinsea, April 15
Not a great tourney for me today. Cards sucked. Game is rigged. The whole world is against me. I got all in with a/10 spades, against fives and queen high. Flop hit the queen and another five, and so ends my tourney. Looks like I retained my spot on the ladder though. RaSZi wasn't there to pull further away. Really only vltava pulled away a bit. I'm going to have to cash next week.

| | sick sick session by gawdawaful, April 15
1800 hands, down 360. Note: 50nl
Doesnt matter what I do, I can play my strong hands fast, they will draw out or fold. If I slow play, the most unlikely hands will hit. The hand that comes to mind is set of Ts on a T 2 5 rainbow board and he turns a gut shot.
I just ugh, want to die...time to cashout a grand to make me feel better
This month: 37k hands, 3.98bb/100
Overall: 73k hands, 5.33bb/100

| | LOL April... by RAHZero, April 15
Alright, so I haven't played anywhere near as much as I wanted to this month. Been pretty busy with school, life and random shit. All hands this month have been at NL 200. Last Saturday night (what is it with Saturday nights?) I was back home for Easter, so I put in a long session and ended up down almost $1k. Was a very swingy session, I went up about $150 early, then dropped a couple buy-ins, then got back into the green when I connected on a huge combo draw (9s7s all in on a 9x8s6s flop). Just a few hands later, I lost the biggest pot of my life (~$900) with KK against 9Ts in a RR'ed pot. So yeah, that sucked, and I played it pretty badly, and I was in the hole again. Finally lost another big pot with KxKh against 66 on a 6h3h2h flop, and decided to call it a night. Didn't really play after getting back to school, had to study for a big math test Thursday night (that I almost certainly managed to fail anyway). Played a little bit the last couple nights and made back about $800, so I'm back into the green for the month. After this week, school should be a lot less time-consuming until finals, so hopefully I'll be able to put in some more hands the second half of this month.

So my last month was really great, I made 500$. But this month I finally realized, that this was not my skill, but luck. I just can't win anymore. No cashgames till end of the month.
So question is: Omaha or SnGs?

At least when your session starts like this:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/175076
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/175077
Here I my results from yesterday:
http://img252.imageshack.us/img252/1867/untitledkk8.jpg
I still did pretty well considering how awfully I was running - I think I only made like 2 bad calls throughout the session (but yeah I could've and should've avoided them) and pushed for value on the river in some very marginal spot w/ KQ on K high board and got called by a slowplayed AK - probably I should've just checked behind but I thought that he could call me with many weaker kings considering how bad my image was. Not many interesting hand histories but I made some nice calls, picked up some good spots to 2nd barrel etc.
I woke up about 11am today and went with my Polish friends for a lunch and then we went to some Spanish girl for her birthday barbecue. The weather is great, it's really hot and people are saying that it's never been like this in Manchester during April. But that's good - too bad all my shorts are in the laundry. We left the barbecue early as it was a bit boring. I got home a few minutes ago and I'll probably watch an episode of Rome and then I'll play some poker obviously.

| | poker star in the making by curtinsea, April 15
How I started
I started playing real money games on pokerstars November 7th of '05. I had felt I was doing well enough at play money games and that this pokerstars thing would be a breeze. So I made a deposit of $50 (big money!) and entered a five-table $10 + 1 sitngo. Much to my chagrin, I donked out in 30th place. Undeterred, I immediately entered a three table, with similar results. Now I was concerned. I had donked away half my bankroll in just over two hours. I took a deep breath, and entered another five table. This time, the results would be favorable, as I took down the tourney (ps tourney #14820307) and $139 for first place. Third time's the charm! Kick ass, I'm going to be rich. Win a couple of these a day and retire from my day job. I knew poker would be easy! WRONG
The road from here would not be so rosey.
Where I've been
Over the next year I searched for my niche, a level where I could find consistant succes, but so far this has eluded me. I won some but I busted out even more. Donking out of 11 dollar tournaments got too expensive, so I moved down to lower buy-ins. But the players at that level don't know when they are supposed to fold, so bluffing is hard and suckouts frequent. Still hard to win. And mistakes, boy I make them a lot. Calling when I know I'm beat, playing weak hands weak, not maximizing big hands, stuff like that.
Where I'm at
I play a lot of 2 table turbo sng tournaments at various buy-in levels. According to sharkscope, I lose about a dollar a game on average. I think I need to get away from these tournaments, because my cash percentage isn't good and I just give money away. You might find me early in the AM (west coast) at ring tables, usually at .02/.05 tables. I call this 'still fishing'. Just wait for premium hands and get paid off every time. Slow grind to make any money though.
Where I'm going
I hope to improve my game enough to get in the black. Dreams of becoming the next Moneymaker have faded, but I still think I am a decent player. I have little live table experience, but I am planning to play at least one bracelet event at the WSOP this year (most likely event #27 on June 16th). I expect to get creamed, but it will be a fun experience for me anyway. If I cash, I'll play another event. In the mean time, I like pokerstars, and the crowd at Liquidpoker.net have turned out to be fun to play with. I have been watching some of you play, and am in awe.
I'll be trying to build my rep by knocking you guys off! So beware haha.

| | First half of april by DustySwedeDude, April 15
So far this month has been very good to me. I've played decent enough on NL200 and I also made like 240USD for finishing 20th in a 40k grtd on prima. ChoboPokeR_r helped me out a lot with the late stages of the MTT so I’d like to take the opportunity to thank my dear tourney-donk.
Anyway, here’s my stats so far this month:
http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/1199/2weeksaprilnp1.jpg
To bad I played so tigth in the beginning of the month. Today I ran at 37/33/4 which is much more sexy.
Also. Buffy is a really good TV-show that everyone should see. Hot girl, vampiers, some old dude with an English accent and some other dudes for comic comic relief. Can't get much better then that, can it?

| | Poker EV Software by JonnyCosMo, April 15
EDIT: The website now makes you email the dude for a password to work the software. This is bullshit, so if you want to installer just give me a PM on LP or IM me on AIM or MSN.
Wowowowow, so my mind has expanded so much. It's amazing how much you can learn about this game each day. So I downloaded that Poker EV software that tallies up your Sklansky dollers earned compared to your total winnings. Lets get right to my graph:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/PokerEVPic.jpg
Here is a graph of my last 36,000 hands (about 2-3 weeks worth of playing for me). So let's translate this baby: The teal line is the Equity Adjusted to Total Winnings, which is basically Sklansky bucks (true equity) adjusted with the pots won/lost that did not go to showdown. Basically, this means it's what I should have won if my luck is breaking perfectly even. As you can see, the green line is my total winnings which = $7,835.25 at 6.4 Big Bets / 100 Hands and is running above the teal line. Conclusion: I run infinitly good, but we've already been over that.
The blue line is what I've won at Showdowns only. While the Red Line is the Sklansky bucks that are calculated straight from showdowns. Again, as you can see with the blue line being over the red, I run good.
Now my questions are... Is the gap between my value won at Showdowns and my Total Winnings suppose to be that wide? Or is this showing a leak in my game where I might not be playing as good in pots uncontested. I've been looking at this thing all day, and asking questions, but the program seems to be so new that people dont really know what the hell things mean on it.
Anyways, today's games were sick easy. The NL200 on PokerStars is just so juicy on weekends. I woke up and made $1200 in about 1000 hands, it was like Christmas all over again.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174941 <-- The top pair donk. These type of creatures only come out of hiding on the weekends.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174943 <-- I'm not really sure what to say about this one. O RLY...?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174945 <-- Maybe I shouldn't be double barreling these types of fish. They just never fold.
Unfortunately, I logged back on at 10pm tonight and gave about $700 of it back to the tables. Couldn't pick up anything, and was playing pretty bad. Oh well. Anyways, I'm going to be playing the Sunday Million tomorrow... Someone shoot me plz. I hate playing that tournament, but there is just so much dead money in it. Atleast I can play cash games to kill the boredom.

Corona anyone? Cheers~!!

| | Introductions by curtinsea, April 14
Welcome - I discovered LP last November, quite by accident. I found a link to a hand posted here that I was involved in. I actually had won the hand, but I was sitting with no money at the table and didn't win much. I guess that was his point with the post. What I found in LP was a lot of brash talking poker players, some deep discussion of mathematical theory, blah, blah , blah. And so I set out to show them up! So I play in the Sunday tourney and try my best to win. To date I haven't won, but I have finished second twice, and I'm hanging on to my spot on the ladder. I suck really. Need some coaching I think. I may be on the verge of greatness, though, so watch out. See you on Sunday!

So i start a blog. this will be very boring to any one reading it so jsut ignore it. i will just use it to keep track of my bullshit sessions and to release steam .
sum up of the last week :
start with ~1,8k get beaten down to 1,3k in 3 days by morons.3 times set overset 200bb+deep. countless shortstack pushes which ALWAYS hit(a6o > my AK, j9o > QQ etc). get no action with good stuff and when we get action were beat or will lose .
get it back to 1,5k. lose 300 $ in 400nds to morons.
play nl25 2 days ago. lose 6 buyins in 2k hands.
play nl25 /trnys yesterday. tourneys: bust on bubble AKs vs A3o(idiot luckbox deepstack pushes over my raise...) bust 5 to ft bubble AQ vs AJ, bust rebuy after break AA vs KK.
lose 4 buyins playing nl25. idiots > me
today play 500 hands nl25. lose 4 buyins . flopped flush with 45hearts lose vs idiot that calls raises and pot bet with top pair and the Th and rivers me.

raise JJ. flop 2suited 89T.he bets 1,5 pot i push for his 75bb. 2 running hearts give his KT the flush. i lose.
KK runs into set.
set loses to a weak flushdraw.
no action on my good hand other then that. down to 870$ fuck you stars. i dropped over 60% of my br in 1 week to total faggots. AGAIN. i think i lost only ~150$ or so against decent players.

| | A slow start by ConquistadoR, April 14
So i took a small break from poker, since yesterday i am back though. Played quite a few hands, and, althoug the results werent flabbergasting, at least i made some money.
Taking that small break has really helped me i feel, i didnt feel the same inner aggression anymore when i played again, i was more calm, and tought a lot more about my actions. I still made a lot of mistakes, but that is ok, at least i kind of know how to work on improving again.

| | Friday 13th is not that bad by SneakrFreakr, April 14
So I played a decent session yesterday in the morning. I was running quite good and would have won more if not for the worst call I've ever made. All in all I ended up winning $260 or so. I'm too ashamed to show my vpip and pfr. I feel like I've loosened up a bit in the last few days but my stats remain the same or even go down. Meh at least I'm winning now but I think I need to open up my game.
http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/4959/asdau1.jpg
After a sesion I tried to study a bit but I couldn't focus so I finished after 30 mins or so. It's really hard to get back into studying and this kind of stuff after a one year break. But yeah - I need to get over it if I want to pass this IELTS thing. Any advice how to motivate yourself to focus? I've got problems with my concentration and it's hard for me to stay focused for longer than 5 mins (especially if it's sth that I don't find interesting). I'm constantly distracted by everything that's around me.
Yesterday one of my friends came back to Manchester so we went to a pub, ordered some food and had a few pints. Obviously I had a kebab on my way back and I went to bed about 4-5am :/ Got up about 11am or so and I've been watching Rome till now. I've just did my loundry, gonna take a shower now, study a bit and obviously play some poker.
And some hand histories from yesterday:
1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174429
In this hand I was going to bet out turn but a pretty bad card came. I put villain exactly on sth like 66-TT. His stats were 16/14/3.2 so I was pretty sure that he wouldn't do this with a set and he was just raising to see cheaply if his small overpair is good.
2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174430
Poker is fun when you hit 6outers.
3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174432
Definitely my worst call ever. This hand happened after I stacked this guy with my set vs his TPTK just 3 minutes before. I was thinking that he might be tilting but his cold called must've been AK and TT+ I think. If he was the preflop raiser and I 3bet him and he called and pushed to my flop bet, then this call could've been better. But in this case it was simply retarded. What do you this is the correct play on this flop for me? Was betting out ok? If yes then should I bet less, more or was my bet ok? Meh, stupid me..
4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174440
I decided to just call on flop as there was no flush draw and I didn't want him to fold KJ KQ etc. Q wasn't a good card on turn but he folded to my bet (which put him allin) anyway. What do you think guys? Should I just push the flop? Villain was 44/0/3.25 after 25 hands.
5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174444
Here I had a feeling that he was making a play on me and went with my gut. What do you think about the way I played it (especially interested in opinions about my turn bet)?
6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174445
lol misclickaments. Meh, villain was a total fish with 60/10 type of stats and I had a terrible image and he was playing back at me loads so I could win a nice pot but somehow I pressed the wrong button :/
7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174448
bitch
8. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/174452
Bad image is gooot.

| | Busto then back by acdawg712, April 14
People were right. My bad BR management has lead me to go busto for first for 80, then 40 I had on the side. Another attempt Friday was successful, turning 30 into 85. Hold'em only earned 20 while PL Omaha earned 35. I think I'll try to severely NL cash games for a while. I
d like to play so big tourneys but I don't have that committment due to college, academic or social.
I'm short stacking omaha based on the advice of a very good omaha player, Rollover2k on FTP and Lefty2506 on Stars. I hope I won't play like a retard in omaha.
My friend placed first in a $2 and won 612 in his first day on Stars. I told him how to manage his Br but he decided to withdraw 500, his loss.
Big hands:

| | BUSTO! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY by tere here, April 14
Poker sir is a prison. It is this thing that manifests itself onto your mind beyond all repair. And you think about the bankroll 24/7. You talk about it 24/7 with your friends. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh It takes over your life. What you doing this week? hmmm I think I'll play poker, nothing else is happening...What you doing tonight? hmmm homework or poker....poker it is!
I sir AM BUSTO. and I am VERY VERY HAPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy! I don't know how I managed to go from 50NL to 200NL in 4 months (Sept - January.) It was an amazing run. I went steadily uphill from 1k - 9.7k. Hot damn It was amazing. Everyday I would look at Capaeneo or see him post graphs in HHs, (he happened to be at same stakes at that time), and think to myself holy shit! this guy variances like crazy! he must really suck!....Meanwhile I would steadily rise....
Fastforward 4 months and now Capaeneo has moved up to between 400 and 600NL! Meanwhile I hit 200NL and began experiencing the rollercoaster ride that tells you you are no longer a winning player!
9.7K...dropped to 1.5K...back up to 6k...down to 5k...back up to 6k...down to 2k up to 3k...down to 2.5k. And that my friends is where the story ends...
The feeling of losing is just too much. Someone I read in a blog here? had trouble at 10NL because because they would hit it and had lost at it 5 times he hit that stake...
That man works HARD...I sir, am giving up and it feels great...
I want to say to everyone that this is a positive entry.
I think its a shame I wont get to meet most of oyu as a result of me no longer ever playing poker.
However I wish the absolute best to all of you. It seems that I have outgrown this fad and it is time to move on. It seems Like it is time to accept defeat and move on.
ABSOLUTELY BEST OF LUCK TO ALL OF YOU. MAY YOU ALL BECOME MILLIONAIRES AND BILLIONAIRES. MAY YOUR GUTSHOTS HIT, YOUR CALLED BLUFFS BAD BEAT, YOUR STRONG HANDS STAND AND YOUR DRAWS HIT EVERY WHERE!
PEACE OUT ALL OF YOU! LP.net is no longer gonna be my favourite page which is sad but GOod and HAPPY at the same time!
Good Night SIRZ
