I'm leaving for vegas tomorrow morning. I'll post updates on my progress in the tourney here, i'm sure cardplayer will also have a lot of live updates.
im bringing my digital camera, which i have not yet used. maybe i will post pictures of adventures i go on in the rhino with my massive wad of 1 dollar bills and other quests i may undertake.
P.S. Does anyone know what casino chevy chase went to in vegas vacation where he played guess the number and pick a hand? That seems like my kind of place.
wats up guys its ur fav LP donkey...i got a stake from a good fellow a couple days ago for 20 bucks but haven't really been able to play too much...been playin 6 max with like 3 dollar stacks on NL2. I have managed to double it and today had an interesting encounter with this guy FRITTS...i think he used to play the upper limits with all of u superstars....we got to talkin and he might possibly coach me for basically free...i will look him up in the summer and hopefully that maybe works out. Would like to know wat a couple of u guys think of that and if u know FRITTS better than myself..he said he hasn't played in forever and needed to pay for a lot of shit so idk wat his real story is but coachin would not hurt. he said like 5% of my profits over 5 months would be his asking price and i thought if he ever made me make 10k in poker i would be willing to fork over 5 hundo of that. wat u guys think?
The session started well... not because i was running hot but because the aggrodonks were donating.. its funny how you just need to reraise a few times preflop to get a maniac/psycho image from certain players. Here's a few funny examples:
the beggining of the downswing is this hand is probably one of the worst hand i've ever played. i wasnt concentrated much coz i was trying to upload a hand on lp.net and i played the hand terribly
this guy is the type of guy that only reraise KK or AA.. maybe QQ.. he has a very low aggression factor and considering his range, he's very lickely to have the ace of diamond that nobody with half a brain would fold. also, i wanted to raise to 60 but clicked the bet pot button wich committed me completely.
all in all, TERRIBLE spot to bluff.. =/
then this hand happenned.. this might be foldable against some players but against an unknown this is an insta call right ??
This donk minraised me on the flop and i imediately tought he had top pair.i also knew he would bet every streets with it so i decided to call down to disguise my hand.On the river he made a weak bet of 25$ and i decided to minraise ( !!! ) him. i tought at the moment it was the only way i was getting any more value of him... toughts ?
then this set up happenned, nothing the guy could do. notice how passive some of these players are -___-;; http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/177550
a shortstack decided to piss me off at one time.. he went all in on the 1st hand.. then again on the 2nd hand and i called him with A9 sooted http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/177633
Double my bankroll in 2 days :))).by mrwongie, April 19
In the last 2 days i have been playing 8 tables at pokerstars on .05/.1. Starting with only 150 dollars, I have had some hawk runs increasing it to 310$. Should have been more but i was spewing money when i was leaving, hoping to catch some more cards LOL. I LOVE YOU POKERSTARS.
Today was a crazy day. Don't usually play in the afternoon, but had no class, so decided to put in a little session. Started off rough when I got into a 3-way all-in on the flop with TP + NFD. PStove has my equity there as 33%, so whatever, was +EV with the dead money in the pot. Of course the guy with the worst hand (bottom two pair, other guy had a straight) won by hitting runner runner flush. Got back to even, then lost another pretty big pot with KK vs. AA (managed to keep half my stack though), was pretty much even for a little while, then things started getting interesting. Won three decent pots in quick succession: QQ that flopped a set for +$80 against a shorty, QJs that rivered a straight for +$40 (flop and turn were checked through), and AK that flopped TPTK for +$88. All 3 happened within 1 minute of each other. From there I just went on a nice rush. 3-bet KK against a crowd of cold-callers, 1 called me with QJs, I flopped top set and stacked his flush draw. Got AIPF against a shorty and a 100/89 with KK against their ATo and AKs and held. Got paid off big time when I flopped TP + NFD and turned the nut flush against a guy who called me down with TPNK. Overall, a very nice rush for my first $1k day.
Well I'm in the midst of exams and the senators are having another gut-wrenching playoff run. Needless to say I've accidently brought my emotions and hopes for my team to the table this week and it's resulted in me playing my d-game at the tables. Down about $150.00 or so on 25NL over 10k hands in the past week. Reviewed every session in PT, obvious that I'm just playing spewy and stupid even in small pots. I've seen enough clear mistakes to see me piss away about $350 of would be profit. Yes I had bad-beats, many of them, but I find that irrelevant as whining about that would not help me improve my game.

running ok and gaypicamentsby hansen jr., April 19
So yesterday I lost some buyins wich 2 of them were when I were a bit out of line, bleh. Today I made a ok session of 800 hands and ended two buyins up.
Two tests tomorrow - cooler.
gay cold outside - cooler.
Importing some irl pics for the first time, woho! Hope I wont be spammed with sexy comments tho.
Dunno wtf is going on with my game, i play good for like 1H then i start the crazyness, throwing my money out of the window or going all-in with speculative hands. It's just like someone else takes my place and while he's spewing my hard earned money, im looking him from the INSIDE.
I fucking need an exorcist or sumething WTF im so pissed right now, i ve been dropping 7 buy ins in about 2 days. My BR is in danger, no doubt about it i need to stop playing like shit or the end is near...
Amusing part is that im not even tilting, i m like chip leader at the final table then a good hand come, and i play it the worst possible way against a deep stack and put myself on danger. 2,3 or 4 overcards no matter what i fucking shove after c/r him WTF he FUCKING CALLED MY RAISE YOU RE BEAT FAGGOT JUST FOLD U FUCKING SOB.
This is like the 10th MTT sng that im playing where i get kicked on the top 20 positions while im deep stacked. Dunno wtf is wrong with me. I need to work hard on that now or i can say goodbye to my BR.
I'll keep doing some cash games max 6 and if i can't fix that major leak i'll have to go down to full ring for grinding back my BR.Oh man, you guys say Poker is ez, i say it's tough, at least for me !
Okay session. Was up a couple buy-ins, then lost it all to 2nd barrels.
My AKo is definitely a loser for me as of this moment...I just don't like giving up on it. I dunno, any advice?
Anyhow, I've got 25 or so buy-ins for 50NL, but I just can't quite pull the trigger to move up. A few people have said that a 15 BI rule is sufficient enough.
I've decided to take a stab at the beginning of next week (provided I don't go on a massive slide before then).
Aug 2006 - Started playing (3$ Turbo SNG's, $4 MTT SNG) BR: ~ $50
Sep 2006 - Won a $4 MTT (6.50$ Turbo SNG's, $4 MTT SNG) BR: ~ $300
Okt 2006 - Starting cash games (NL10, NL25) BR: ~ $600
Nov 2006 - (NL50) BR: ~ $1000
Dec 2006 - (NL50) BR: ~ $2000
Jan 2007 - (NL50) BR: ~ $3000
Feb 2007 - (NL100) BR: ~ $4000
March 2007 - (NL100) BR: ~ $5000
19 April 2007 - (NL200) BR: $9000
After a tough time moving up to NL100 in Jan - Feb, I heatered through NL100 in like a week in the end of march (+16 buy ins in 3 days on UB was sick). So now I'm playing NL200 on UB and playing pretty confident and most importantly, patient.
The biggest thing that has helped me get to here is not having the need to cash out in between. I row six times a week this year (made it into the squad through selection progress), which resulted in me not drinking alcohol and going to bed early etc. Which then resulted in me having very little living expences and just slowly building my roll in peace .
I also play shorter hand sessions because of my frequent rowing, which allows me to hardly tilt and just leave when I'm not playing my A-game without caring too much. I see all the threads about 'How long to play' and I just think you should ONLY play when you feel like you play your A - game. Playing long sessions (+ 3,5 hours) is mentally tough and I for one am not up to it yet.
I think I may fold too much, but I don't think it's hurting my profit, and it results in people taking pretty big stabs at me when I check to them in big pots or even raising me more with their marginal hands.
Almost cleared the UB bonus, and I think I'll move to party to see if all the stories about the many many fish there are true.
Here are some hands I posted on LP.net from my NL200 sessions:
So on Tuesday I was supposed to play a long session but after 200 hands my friend called me that there's some nice barbecue on their campus so I picked up a few beers and went there. I managed to make over a buyin in these 200 hands anyway. After the barbecue, about 1am we were still a bit hungry so we went to Abdul's for a kebab obviously. I came back about 2am tired as fuck (because of the damn shisha probably) and slept for like 12 hours. I was supposed to do some running in the morning with my mate but I gave up and just switched off the alarm clock.
The good thing is that I've finally started studying a bit. IELTS is EZ. Just neet to practice some writting and reading. So after studying for like 2 hours yesterday I played 2 sessions on FTP. I ended the first run after 1k hands or so and I was up $150. Then, after a 2hr break I played another 900 hands or so and ran like total crap. First I lost against two 2outers on the river after we went allin preflop and on the flop, then I lost two 4outers on turn and river (again money went in preflop or on the flop, ie. KK < KQ and its straight), my AA wasn't good enough when I went allin preflop against KQ and finally I had JJ against a maniac from a AA vs KQ hand but this time he turned out to have aces. Even though I ran so bad I lost only a bit over a buyin and overal I was still up for the day which is pretty cool. People just loved to pay me off yesterday and they were donatind money left and right. Too bad I ran so terribly cause it could've been my best day ever in poker. Here are my stats from these two days. Again no hand histories cause I don't want to post my beats and there weren't many interesting hands. Maybe I'll post sth in the evening or tommorow. I really opened up my game and my stats were even close to 23/19 or so but in the end of the session I was a bit tired and wasn't getting cards so I was giving up all the time and that's why my stats went down. Also my flop AF was pretty damn high again but that's cause I was hitting so many flops and people were also pretty passive so I was taking lots of pots from them.
