life is good by SneakrFreakr, June 24

Soo.. I haven't been posting for a long time once again. I just don't have much time to do poker-related stuff so I try to play whenever I can and this is why I don't update my blog frequently. But hopefully it will change from now on as I've already met up with everyone after coming back to Poland so I have some more time for myself.

So as I said in my previous post I went to Krakow with my friends and it was awesome. I really liked the city and we had a great time. I spent too much money obviously but I figured that this is what money is for - to have fun. So fuck it - I don't care if I'll have to grind nl200 for a longer time. I just want to have a great summer and so far it's been going my way. Poker/moving up in stakes can always wait so I'm not gonna be a "withdrawal nit" anymore.

From Krakow I went to visit my grandparents for a few days. I thought I'm gonna be bored as hell but.. somehow I found an unprotected wireless network. It was really slow but I could play 2 tables. So I decided to play some nl100 HU. The variance in HU is really sick (see graph below).

I came back to Szczecin on Friday morning after spending 11hrs on a train where I couldn't fall asleep until 3 am (I arrived in Szczecin at 6am) because two olds pricks were snoring like crazy. In the evening my mum decided to go with my brother to the seaside for a weekend. So I obviously called 2-3 of my friends to have some drinks at my place. I don't know why but somehow it turned out that there were like 15 people in my flat. Anyway we got really pissed obviously. When I woke up at 11am I was still drunk and walking seemed to be a really difficult thingy.

On Saturday evening I called two other friends of mine and we had some beers at my place. One of my mates passed out around 3-4am but I was still drinking with my other friends. Now here's an inside story. My brother's hamster ran away from his cage like 2 months ago and we couldn't catch him and since them he lives in the kitchen behind the cooker and cupboards. We see him from time to time but he's always faster. So when I went to the kitchen to pick up sth to drink I saw this hamster and told my friend about it. Dunno why but he was like "omg we need to catch it, cmon". So we spent like 1,5h trying to catch this little bastard by dragging all the cupboards into the middle of the kitchen etc. Finally I managed to pwn the hamster and win this epic battle. But he definitely is a tough guy.

http://witze.net/funpics/hamster_with_gun.jpg

So I went to bed about 7:30 am and my friend woke me up around 12ish. We had sth to eat and spend a few hrs in front of TV just watching some boring stuff. By the way on one music channel there was a thingy where you could send a text from your cell with your name and the name of the person you'd like to score. So obviously my text looked like that: "Pawel Jessica (Alba)". I wasn't shocked at all when I got a reply that we're meant to be together and she can't wait to fuck me. Ship it (or her).

http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/6144/jessicaalba7it8.jpg

Ok let's get back to poker now. So since my last post (10th June) I've played like 5k hands of nl100 HU and 7k hands of nl200 6max. Very little but I also didn't have much time. HU was quite swingy but I feel very good about my 6max game now. I feel like I improved a lot since the beginning of May. But I need to start studying my game again, analyzing hand histories after every session, watching CR vids and posting on/reading forums. I think I write this shit in every post but whatever. Maybe I'll finally start doing it on a regular basis.

Anyway here is my graph since 10th June:

http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/9887/junezz2.jpg

Now it's 3:15am and time to go to bet and play some poker in the morning, when each table has 4 regulars and one semi-fish with 30bb stack. But those regulars are pretty bad so I can easily pwn them anyway. I also want to play some live cash games tommorow if I get my transfer from Neteller to my bank account by the time they start.

Also I am going on a diet. I mean I'm going to limit the amount of fast foods I eat cause I'm gaining weight like crazy and my belly is growing. Having a pizza for lunch and KFC for a dinner ain't healthy and I do it almost every day. I should start doing some sports too but no ideas so far. And I hate going to the gym Any suggestions?

On Tuesday I'm going to my friend's flat party, then on Friday it's my "name day" so I'll definitely go out. Then on Saturday and Sunday my mate is organising like a two days long party at his house. So yeah, this week is going to be tough - both health- and money-wise. But I don't mind at all, I'm having great holidays so far and I hope it'll even get better. I've got loads of plans so I'm definitely not going to be bored.

Enough for now, I think it's my longest post ever anyway.

Decent, So far. by AleKSei, June 24

Well my goals are all going really well, i completed the first one and im starting good on the second one.

What i noticed that NL5 changes dramatically in pokerstars, because of the fact that the games are really deepstacked, since the sugested minimum bi in ps is 6dlls(120bb) is often doable playing with 300~500bb, this is a implied odds fest, because people cant fold anything, so you have to play a little diferent, making wilder calls for draws etc...

Well on to the stats.

Hopefully next week i can be playing NL10 again.

It's good by Gawuss, June 24

It's Sunday night - 12 AM in Poland. I'm so bored today. I didn't do nothing new, just watched '16 blocks' for the 2nd time with my friends. It was still good to watch though.
By the way I saw 'Mr. Brooks' yesterday and it's a great movie imo. You should watch it ! One of the best I've seen in a while.
I also played some poker today. It's weekend and there are a lot of really bad players swimming in a big fishtank, waiting for me to eat their stacks. I ate few of them and am pleased but it could be better though. I've had few bad beats/coolers for example this one. Pretty sick but it has to happen sometimes. I was playing short HU w/ some guy and did well untill he rivered flush against my two pair. Nah, ok I have to live with that cause it was just normal 70-30 situation.
I'll show you other big hands I played on 400nl so far. Here are few of them:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/217682 - that's how it should've been. Better hand pf wins

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216283 - F$%#K. I hated this Jack after he showed his hand

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216286 - I've seen this guy making such ridiculous bluffs like this one. Luckily there was no 2 on the river

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/217684 - great flop !

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216288 - standard but I just wonder if I could lay this down after his miniraise...hmm..

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216285 - I love their bluffs ^^ and my luckbox too obv

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/217816 - it was perfect spot. I was somehow pissed off but I can't remember why and was raising almost every hand and betting pot like crazy. Actually I wasn't tilting I just made my image loose-pissed off-crazy-fishy and luckily I've had many good hands in a row ( like big PPs, AKs n stuff like that )and this guy called my big bets few time but after my turn/river bet he used to fold. This time when he had top pair he gave me his chips just like that nice gift from him

Ok that's enough for now. Look at my 2/4nl stats so far:

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/3844/24vx4.jpg

and the graph

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/4641/24graphfh8.jpg

And stats and graph for June so far:

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/6669/statscp5.jpg

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/17/graphjunefm0.jpg

It's my best month ever. I hope next will be even better I'm really happy that everything is going well. The only thing I'm not happy with is the number of hands I played. I was going to play at least 30k but it seems like I'm not gonna do this I have to work on it in the future.

Ok so that's all for now. I hope you're doing as good as I am. Good luck at tables

Breakevensville by wilddamon, June 24

Played a few hands today. Overall I think I played well but I must remember not to do stupid things like call with KK on a board with 2 aces on it -_-;; especially when I (correctly) put the other guy on an A..

And if I have a read on someone, go with it, don't second guess myself.. and don't call all in with AJ.. That's just stupid (he had KK)

I guess I was a little on tilt with a full house losing to 4 of a kind early in the session.. Must try not to get emotionally involved at all.

lool

Oh yeah, I finally managed to pass the quiz for the free $50 on Titan Poker. (lol what?! -_-;; ) Gonna go sign up!

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 440 hands and saw flop:
- 42 out of 68 times while in big blind (61%)
- 10 out of 66 times while in small blind (15%)
- 28 out of 306 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 80 out of 440 (18%)
Pots won at showdown - 7 of 19 (36%)
Pots won without showdown - 24

Total won: (-$0.53)

Casino Trip / Life by NeillyJQ, June 23

First off, let me state how much more I prefer online poker than live now, it had been a couple months, but now its blatently obvious how much better online is than live. Having the chance to play 800-1200 hands per hour is just so much better for learning and winning.

Heres my first days stats back online too, my session didn't last long because it was very late when I arrived back home;

NL10 - was running fairly good, can't believe I played 21% though lol, I'm usually 15-17%, but small sample size
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1039 hands and saw flop:
- 80 out of 144 times while in big blind (55%)
- 38 out of 144 times while in small blind (26%)
- 103 out of 751 times in other positions (13%)
- a total of 221 out of 1039 (21%)
Pots won at showdown - 26 of 50 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 113

went 1/1 FTbling the $4 180 man SnG today, had chiplead for a while...we grinded final 3 for an hour and I busted QK vs A2, followed by AQ vs K5 (Ryan Daut anyone?) ^^
That being said, heres how my trip went;

Day one was pretty fun, the night started off slow, and ended pretty fast after a couple key hands.

on 1/2
Hand one, two players limp in MP, and I raise KJos on the button, pick up two callers, one in the sb, other in MP.

Flop comes out TJ2, MP fires out 15, I shove for 80. SB goes allin, MP calls. The MP player was one of the only players at the table that I gave respect too, the rest of the table was extremely lag & trying to get lucky on every hand. So the SB flips Q9s, for an open ender, MP flips QKs for the other open ender. Turn blanks and river hits an 8 to send me to the cashier for more chips. I decide to get away from this game and try out the 2/5 dynamic.

2/5
After I sit in for a few minutes, I notice most of the table is drunk and playing pretty LAG.
Key hand #2 -
Button comes out firin 15 to open the pot, my initial instinct is he's just buildin a pot on a strong drawing hand, so I pop it to 60 with my AA from the SB. He instantly calls me, flop comes KT7, I check trying to set up a trap, hoping he will push me in with AK. He checks behind. Turn is a 6, bringing out a flush draw. I drop a PSB out n he folds. After this, I sit for another 30-40 minutes card dead and leave since I got there at 2am and planned on playing all day friday.

Friday comes, I get to the casino as fast as I can after I wake up, only to get totally annihialted in the 1/2 game.
Pretty much went like this - no matter what the odds were, I was sucked out on. I've pretty much blocked this day out of my psyche since the beats were so brutal. I was carddead for a good few hours before getting stacked KK vs AJ, and JJ on a 89Th flop, I had the Jh. Villian had QQ w/ the Qh. whoops? ;-)

Day 3 was really fun.
I came in, sat 1/2 to get warmed up.

First hand of the night I pick up a T6s in the SB, complete and here we go. Flop comes AAk, checks around. right now the pots small, but still worth winning. Turn brings another King, the button fires out 12, I flat with a flush draw I picked up on the turn and fire a 1/2 psb on the river to take it down. His play was a very transparent steal.

A few hands later, a lag girl on the button opens the pot for 12. She had raised 6 of the past 15-18 pots, and right before this hand was dealt, I say to her, "thats a wide raising range you got." I look down and see TT in the SB. I repop to 40. She thinks for a minute or two and shoves..At this point I had no read really, other than she was raising a ton and never getting called. I think for a few minutes and flat like a retard and watch her flip AA. I miss a gutterball and I'm down more, yah!

After this, I pick up QQ in the SB after a MP guy comes out for 12 (the standard opening raise at the table). I pop to 40 again, he thinks for a minute, and shoves. At this point, I have to admit I was steaming from the TT vs AA, and make a retarded call. (After thinking about it, the only hands this guy is shoving is KK/AA/AK..well, he flips over AKo, A comes in the door and I'm out.

Ended up losing a cool 550 during the trip, but had alot of learning experiences. I wasn't giving the players at the 1/2 close to enough respect during the games, and got crushed for doing so. This is my first losing trip to the casino in my last 5-6 trips, so its all good. Was averaging $600-$2,500 per trip, so just kinda gave one of the smaller winning trips back to the playas.

Had thought alot about what I'm going to be doing in my near future with poker, and came to the decision that I'll stay in my house in Pittsburgh during the remainder of my lease (til august 28th), then move to vegas to deal and play. I'll be working part-time here in Pittsburgh while grinding pokerstars and hopefully continuing my learning experiences day in and day out, so I'll be ready for Vegas.

Lost, but had fun, got to see alot of my family and some friends from back home, and got to learn some things about myself that I don't really care to post, but I'll just say it was a very important trip.

So be expecting to see alot from me and my online hands in the future, I hope to grind my way back up the limits like I did before, hopefully this time with more success and better BR management.

GL & HF everyone,
DReaMe (Ryan)

internet problems by JYang, June 23

i have both verizon (dsl) and earthlink (cable) and both of those are seriously giving me a headache.

verizon has been getting really good pings and decent speed but often disconnects which are gay even tho full tilt has the new disconnect protect timers. so i have to quickly unplug dsl and plug cable in so i can get back on action.

earthlink on the other hand doesn't disconnect but has really high ping and slow speed. rofl. i cant play on full tilt at all with this kind of connection. but stars seems ok. good software =].

thing is that i can 12 table easily with earthlink high ping on pokerstars fine, but not on full tilt tho. to play on full tilt i need my verizon connection which disconnects every fuckin hour.

i dont know what else i can do. i live in nyc and those are like the only residential internet providers =/. there are others but they are powered by the same companies. earthlink and roadrunner both uses time warner and all dsl companies use the covad CO i heard.

this seriously sux. i really need to clear my $500 bonus on full tilt that they just gave me!! =]. with rakeback this is really good money =]

Just created my blog by diggla, June 23

Hello Liquid Folks!

I just created this blog and am now trying to fill this white textbox. Ok, some basic info about me (only poker related this time )

"Diggla" started playing poker 6 Months ago. Got some free 50 bux at Party Poker and built it up to ~200 playing ultramicrostakes at 0.02/0.04, well 100 bux came from the 100% Bonus i received from P0kerstrategy ).

I then created an account at PokerStars and deposited $50 and played NL5, moved up to NL10 and then to NL25 with a bankroll of 500. I peaked at 750 after placing 11th or so in a weekly VIP Tournament with some few thousand entrants for $200 Cash. I then used $75 to qualify for the special Sunday Million with a Buyin of 1000. I was wamboozeld at place 2000/7500. Played some SNGs for fun (5% ROI lol) and qualified for another Sunday Million investing around $50 but blinded away after 4h play

Then i somehow tilted 15 buyins away at NL25 in 2 short sessions. Overplayed TPTK a lot and did some weird bluffs i dont wanna be remembered of :D I dropped down to NL10 8 weeks ago and i rebuild my roll to ~460. I will stay at NL10 till i have 500. I'm playing way more cautiously now and my current playing style is 4-6 Tables 6max with a VPIP of 17-20% and PFR of 10-15%.

I'm really studying the game by watching many many videos from pokerbay (gigabytes :D) and stoxtrader videos, other videos from 2+2, reading the 2+2 board, "studying" hand histories. So i'm really serious about poker atm because i'm pretty competitive

I also built up a small roll at prima poker by depositing $50. Now at $270 within 20k hands at NL10.

I still have around $170 at partypoker but i'm currently not very active there because partypoker is not offering 6max tables for stakes below NL 25.

So much for this time. More stuff in a couple of days

And here is some funny hand from Prima. My best flop so far

200NL Experience by mrpav.com, June 23

Sorry for not entering a new blog for a while, lp banned for me 1 week because Rekrul and I were talking shit and I got banned for 1 week,

“rekrul did not close the thread, I did

this isn't a place to have retarded dramatic arguments

and u do not create a thread about a topic if the first one gets closed by an admin

you'll be unbanned in 1 week
and if it was rekrul who had made the 2nd thread I would have banned him for a week”

Oh well, I learned my lesson, so it wont happen again. Anyways, I’ve started playing at 200NL this week and things seem to be going well for me so far. I did some really stupid plays which I look back at now and I’m not proud of but I like to think I learn from my mistakes and I won’t do them again in the future. Hands such as this one http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/217226, =( Anyways, here are some stats for the last 4 days, and my pokerstars girl.

Tables are being nice to me by MrArsenal24, June 23

As some of you know i recently moved to NL .25/.50. I must say this is amazing. Ive been 4-5 tabling 4 of which are 6 max and and the others are full rings. I believe I can move up in stakes, however I think I need to play more. If i can consistantly make money at .25/.50 for about 2 weeks then ima move up to .50/1.

[img=http://img468.imageshack.us/img468/7934/poker1aq6.th.jpg]

http://www.liquidpoker.net/userpoll/draw.php?poll_id=343
Poll: SHOULD I MOVE UP IN STAKES?
(Vote): Yes, move up to NL .50/1.00
(Vote): No, stay at NL .25/.50

Final tables and BR by sTrAtO, June 23

I've been breaking even in the last few days at cash games. In the morning I had a horrible start losing some $ but at night I broke even.

Tournaments at Titan are quite easy and each table has 10players so you get 1 more freehand than at PS. In the afternoon (3PM EST, 21CET) there are good tournaments with a pretty decent player field and the price pools are kinda good. Those tourneys are a little bit tough, like the ones at PokerStars. I pretty much always cash in them but bust at 50-30th place...

On the other hand, at night, the tournaments are just ridiculously easy. With a small player field (90 to 120 players). I play the $6, $5, and two $3 w/rebuys every day and reach the Final tables quite often. But for some reason, after having a great tournament, I play very bad at the FT and bust early...

Today I reached the FT at the $5+R and $3+R. The $5 had around a 140players with only the top 2 tables (20players) getting into the money. I reached the Final Table 6th place in chips but busted in 9th for only $32 ... That sucked since I invested $20.50 I know exactly what my mistake was and I'm planning of fixing it the next time...

Then at the $3+R, with a 120player field with 20 getting paid, I reached the Final table 2nd in chips. I busted in 4th for $59 with only $6.30 invested... Once again, I know exactly what my mistake at the FT was... I'm kinda dissapointed because those mistakes were very stupid... but I gotta learn from them and move on.

So my BR so far is:

http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/2135/titanpoker22junvg3.jpg

Tomorrow will be a new day and I'm gonna try my best at those small buyin tournaments and hopefully wont make as much mistakes as I did today.

First 1k Hands at 25NL by Benzooor, June 22

First of all, thanks for all the GL's from the last post. Nice to know

Anyways, a buddy owed me 50$ and payed me back through PS so I hit 300 and decided to try 25NL today. Results were pretty good

Much better to be playing with deeper [effective] stacks (sometimes). There's still the retards with 5$ stacks, but much less than in 10NL, where 3$ seemed to be the avg. chipstack.

Haven't had time to wade through for individual hands, but here's the stats so far:

http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2298/nl25rq1.jpg

Will be here for a while, not planning to move up to 50NL until 1k BR.

PS if you notice anything about my stats that you think I could improve upon, let me know.

Cheers!

Ship it Sammy! by hansen jr., June 22

So last night I dreamed that I won a pot that was 60k of sammy farha, we played this five handed nlholdem/omaha game, I dont remember the blinds but I think they were like 300/600 and I was the shortie so I got KJoff UTG and make a standard raise, folds to Sammy whos in the CO who makes it like 6k or something, I think for ten seconds then I just push becouse I feel like Sammy obv doesnt have anything good. Sammy thinks for like 20 seconds before calling. Now I dont remember the board but I think it was that I showed K high and Sammy instamucked his hand, LOL DONKEY. So the pot of 60k were shipped to me and I were going crazy and then made a standard hit&run and left the table with four guys staring at me like I were satan.

Pokerwise when not dreaming Im doing great, I recently had this downswing so I decided to drop down and grind out 2/4 to regain confidence wich have turned out to be great. Im up around 32 buyins in 11k hands and Im feeling great! So now I just gotta keep up the grinding spirit the whole summer break.

And by the way about this police shit I were involved with last week they havent said anything yet so our odds to just slip trough this have got significantly better! KAKLONK!

Sincerely,
Viktor "jr" Hansen

Reacting to light 3-bettors by DustySwedeDude, June 22

Reacting to light 3-bettors

I figured that I should write a bit on this subject since I've been doing a lot of thinking about it lately.

Anyway, some people thinks I’m pretty loose pre flop and has decided to reraise me light. This is bad. Historicly retards has just called me with inferior holdings (Axo, K8s and shit) even oop since they figure that they’ll be ahead of my range which of course is very abuseable. To handle a light 3-bettor is somewhat harder, but I got some insperation from CTS’s old blog; http://cts687.livejournal.com/14591.html. Basicly the math says that you’re about a 3-7 dog against QQ+ and AK with AXs and if you shove a range of a few AXs and normal monsters it’s roughly 4-6.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 30.153% 28.99% 01.16% 53611440 2149290.00 { A5s }
Hand 1: 69.847% 68.69% 01.16% 127018812 2149290.00 { QQ+, AKs, AKo }

Assuming 100bb stacks and normal reraises you’ll pick up about the blinds + your raise and a reraise for a total of at least 17 bb and probably a fair bit more since there’s useally limpers, maybe a coldcaller and God knows what somewhere in the middle too. If someone cold calls the reraise you’ve actually got like 25bb in the pot, that’s 1/4th of a stack! The ev when someone calls you when you shove a suited A and get called is, as stated earlier, around 30%. This gives for a ev of -((700bb-300bb)/10) or –40bb everytime you’re called so if it’s 20 bb in the middle when you shove you’ll only need him to fold 2 out of 3 times to show a neutral ev from this play. However, since you will get a lot of nice side effects out of this, such as retards giving you action when you’ve actually has a real monster and decreased 3-betting from people who either figures out that they really can’t 3-bet anything that they won’t play for stacks other then as a bluff or just don’t want to gamble it up for stacks with AQo, you actually don’t need them to fold even that much to get it +ev in the long run. However, you’ll have to consider that there’s sometimes a bit less then 20bb in the pot which makes this play a little bit worse, but as long as the other dude reraises you somewhat light and doesn’t call your pushes with that much of his range it still a very good play.

Also, thanks to TalantedTom who answeared a few questions about this when I PMed him about it a week ago. I pretty much stole all the thinking from CTS blog too but I figured that some of you might not have seen it so I hope that someone could learn something from it since it was a real eye-opener for me.
