Preparing my marathon month :d by DaviDaY, June 22

So for those of you who didnt saw my topic , im gonna do a sort of marathon month during this summer ( in july i think )play 6-10hours/day and reviewing the rest of the times not the week end btw.
I Saw this like a summer jobs , wich is fun because i like playing poker :d

BANKIN!

Im currently a NL10 players( on FTP) and im planning to end the summer playing at NL50 ( and well rolled for this ofc )
I think i beat NL10 atm , but im still underolled for NL25 ( thanks tilt ).
Planning to take a shot when ill reach 400$ because im pretty confident in my game, and otherwise ill drop back to NL10 if i reach 300$.

Stil Got some lack in my game especialy in late position..I play much and than i should in early and not much in late position ( im considerin my self as a tag player since im playing 20% hand preflop)

PF RAISE% :
SB : 21.88
BB : 6.67
Button : 17.65
1 : 15.87
2 : 10.96
3 : 12.12
4 : 9.84
5 : 25.53
6 : 4.17

I really dont know how to improve that part of my game its just like i get alot more of strong hand in early pos than in late ( even if i play a larger range of hand in late.. )
Should i drop low pair in early pos ? and only play them from late? cause i kinda like calling from early and then call a raise ( if she dont kill my odds ) it might be Wrong.

Oh and just to mention im a beautifull 18years old boy from PARIS france who got a lot of fun playing poker and is happy that it can create a little income xD

Hope this first article will not bore you :d
GL all and GG rekrul & mig for both win braclets

OH and last thing : IF someplayers want to exchange some by MSN mine is : =))) it will be a pleasure

It hurts, precious (-109.50) by KingKory, June 22

June 20th-22nd, 2007

Today's summary:

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb062207.jpg

Commentary:

A rough few sessions, to say the least. I actually broke my 50NL goal, but decided to finish off my 25NL session Wednesday before moving up...bad idea

I'm not that upset about it, because I had quite a few fucked-up-ass hands, and I wasn't able to get enough value out of my big hands.

I made a small change in my game in my c-bets. I've went from c-betting with a psb, to a 3/4 psb, which I believe has saved me some cash.

Anyhow, these hands aren't too pretty, but here ya go!

Top winners:

Another wild day... by RAHZero, June 22

Yesterday was one of those crazy swingy days:

http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/7149/june21cg1.jpg

I started off running well, picking up some big pots, hit a K with AK in a reraised pot and picked off a river all-in bluff to go up a stack early, won a little at NL $600 while taking shots there. Then things went south, I stopped hitting hands, everything was off. I worked my way back up again, hitting a set with QQ against AQ on a 22QA board in a 3-bet pot to win a stack, took down another big pot with a flopped flush from the BB, and had a huge stack. Then, of course, I got doomswitched in what I think is the biggest pot I've ever played, for that big drop you see in the graph:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216578
Don't really see any other way to play this against this villain. I mean, he's obviously semi-retarded with the hand he shows up with here. He's like 66/30/6 and I follow him around constantly. I'm 99.9% sure he fires this turn when I check to him no matter what card falls here. Just my luck that he turned two pair.

After that, things started to pick up. At NL $200, I shoved a FD on the turn in a reraised pot on a board of KK42, got looked up by 77 and rivered the flush. Had 15 outs there, so whatever, villain was a fish but I thought he could laydown a hand like that and I had plenty of outs if called. I hit a set of 3s in a reraised pot to win another stack (raised from button, guy reraised me from BB, knew he was reraising light, and sure enough he bluffed off his stack to me when I hit). Won another stack with 3s when I flopped a set vs. jacks, and won a couple other small pots to finish the night up nicely.

After another big day, I'm now up over $20k all told in June, with RB and bonuses factored in. It's been a very solid week, up over $1k / day, and barring anything crazy, I should finish June somewhere in the +$25-$30k range. +$30k would be ridiculous, considering my best month before now was a little over +$3k. June graph so far:

Unfucking believable by acdawg712, June 22

Pokerstars is really fucking good at making you think you actually have a shot to win a tournament. I'm not saying it's impossible to win, but it feels like Pokerstars goes, "Hey let's let him win." as well as "Hey, there's a poor sap, let's let him go far but fall far short of any decent payout" or "Let's crush him with a 48-1 underdog winning.

Welcome again! by Kapol, June 21

I'm gonna make this post even though it's 4:30 a.m. and I'm extremly sleepy. I decided to start blogging again cause things are getting worse and worse. And I'm not talkin bout my skill. I'm talkin bout my concentration, mentality and all that shit. OK, so let's start from the beginning.
The whole time I wasn't posting anything I was playing SH games on PS and some FR on EverestPoker. My BR was going up and down, and one day I finally reached 5k. That day I decided to play on Stars only. Transferred my whole cash, bla bla bla. On 1st June I deleted my PT database and opened a new one (why not?). I won some on NL100 and decided to give it a try on NL200 (I cashouted some so I had only 4.5k back then). I won 100 bucks in three days and went back to NL100. I played there for a week or so and then went to NL200 again. This time I dropped sth like 6BI and was really pissed. I grinded sth back on NL100, cashouted again and played on NL200 again today. I also played my 1st PLO cash game today (lost 200 though). Lost 200 on NL200 also, and I'm done. Fuck this shit. I gotta grind my way up, with proper bankroll management, dammit. So now I have only 2.4k on PS. I'm doing pretty good on NL100 this month (4.5ptBB/100 after 15k hands), the trip to 1/2 helped me a lot (even though I lost a huge amount of cash) cause now I see how EZ NL100 is.
I still have that fckn Fancy Play Syndrome, hope that blog helps me to get rid of it.

I moved to England a week ago, I'm going to work here for a year and then start to study, prolly in Manchester. I'm decent about no cashouting throughout the time I'll work, so hopefully I'll make 8k BR in less than 3 months. Of course if I run proper bankroll management.

OK, so goal nr 1 is:
Make 8k bucks and improve my game a lot.
Reward: NL200.

So Lets try Online Poker by Benzooor, June 21

Well I hadn't played online poker for a while, with a great live scene going and good profits there I didn't have time for online.

However, now most of the regulars in the home games have turned 21 and are crushing the local casinos, so home games are sparse.

So a week or two ago I bought a 100$ visa and put it on stars.. Decided I'd try out this "bankroll management" concept. 9tabled .02/.05 up to 150$ and then started on .05/.10.. I've just been decimating these stakes. I had a bit of trouble adjusting to the play to start but I pretty much just have to play ABC poker and exploit their loose/passive styles ( raise 6-7x BB on average, 3bet with AT+ and 77+, outplay on flop ); Been playing really really LAG and doing well.

Account is up to 230$ now after a few suckouts but generally a smooth profit margin. Probably going to hit 300$ by next week; Then I'm going to move up to .10/.25;

I'm planning to play .10/.25 up to 1k then follow 20bi rule on up through!

I used to be very bored with the micro stakes online since I play 2/4 live usually and the quality of play is night and day between the two, but I've really been enjoying playing online, it's almost RELAXING playing these small stakes.

And believe it or not, I think it's improved my live game a little, opening up my 3bet range has helped tremendously.

Cheerse

Trying to move up by anon, June 21

So in the morning i started playing some 200nl, didn't go too well, but somehow i managed to win a decent sum, however and the end i almost lost it all and quit being up like 1bi. Then after a break, i played some party 200nl, was up quite a lot again and then lost almost everything, ended up like 120$ up. I reached around 14K br(8K~ on pp and 6~K on ps), so i decided to give a try at 400nl. So after the 10 month break(the first time i gave a shot at 400nl, full ring however) i tried 400nl. Session went quite decently, i was up around 1.5K at one moment, everything was fine. However the game is tougher, regulars are more aggresive, there are so many 3bets pf so i imagine the swings are going to be crazy on 400nl, but i hope i will be able to remain there. Everything would be fine for today, but i was already leaving, and i lost like 600$, when auto post bb on all the tables was already canceled and i was staying till bb.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216237 <- could have avoided this one, guy was 17/3, so it was obv he had AA/KK, but he was so short =[
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216235
One hand pissed me off, i don't understand this guy's play:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216190
summary:
http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/7333/400nlyt1.jpg
So hopefully i will be able to remain on 400nl if everything goes well, looking forward to play some more 400nl tommorow.
Gnight.

lol im back by sooon2b, June 21

Yeah, im back. Whatever. I kind of have a job now, lol. Panera Bread FTL. Just having a job because most friends are not home. Need to meet new people, be social, etc. Also, the money and lack of resume gap(or even larger gap) is nice I guess.

Fuck Xavier University. Those moneygrubbing assholes are probably keeping me out of school in the fall semester. I basically owe them xx,xxx amount of money. I made them an offer and they refused it. It was an extremely fair offer, of what I owed, minus $1000(for a few different reasons). Also, my credit report was to be cleaned. They denied me, and looks like this is going to court, and they arent going to get shit now.

Fuck girls. I started talking to this slut. I knew she was a slut. Way boy crazy, etc. Not gf type by any means. Well, shit didnt work out with that, etc. She still wants to be friends, and fuck. I guess thats cool. Everyone says I need to stop putting the pussy on a pedastool. I guess ill try that? Oh yah, I am talking to my ex gf again, the one that ruined my life some 6 months ago. No worries, were not talking like 'that'.

So, I decided to get back into poker. Seeing all of these guys in vegas has really inspired me to go back to my degen ways. Luckily I have had a few offers for stakes. I am currently just being staked by rnbsalsa for cash games(starting at 50NL to get back in the swing of things). Ive made a few hundo so far, ez game. People are pretty retarded at these stakes. I will most likely stay on this stake until I have enough to play 200NL on my own(or maybe just stay on it longer and learn to beat 400-600NL for a decent profit).

I am looking for a large buyin MTT stake. I would like to start playing the nightly 150s, as well as the Sunday majors. I am looking for 25/75 no makeup, or 50/50 with makeup. I will also play any other mtts 55$+ for 40/60 no makeup, or 60/40 with makeup. If you are interested, contact me.

My usernames are
FTP: readmyline
Stars: sooon2b(3 o's) primary account
igotmadbeetz and pozzedu are other accounts I have used(dads and ex gf's account)

new plans by ConquistadoR, June 21

I have decided to make something new.
That IS:

Im going to grind NL25 for a while now, and then move up SLOWLY again in levels as i increase my self-confidence and bankroll. Actually im doing this since 4-5 days already.

Feels really good to play there actually atm, i have become a lot more calm, and think about every hand a lot now, with other words : im playing with my brain and concentrated, just as i used to do back in my good times, instead of playing with my temper/mood!

My plan is to average a buyin per day, i think that should be easily done on NL25.

Alright, off to the tables now, ill present you some results later.

oh, and just for the awesomeness of it :

25 NL Heater by MayZerG, June 21

So today i went to 25NL as i had 10 BIs (too little, i shoulda had around $400 before i tried it).

But i followed some guidelines with Josh that i'll move up with 10 BIs and move back down if it goes below 8, when trying to move up stakes.

And OMG... i went on the sickest heater i have ever seen. Over 3 BIs in 61 hands.

Heres the database:

Decent day... by RAHZero, June 21

Another good, but frustrating day yesterday. Things went OK early on, then I just hit a huge cold streak where I couldn't make a hand to save my life. I was at a table with a 75/2/2 type player who called every one of my raises and every c-bet, and I just could not make anything against him. The one time I finally flopped top pair, he called me down with bottom pair and hit a runner runner flush. Then I got hot, and won some huge pots, including this monster one with flopped flush over flush:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/216064

However, for some reason, whenever I get up big I always hit a wall and inevitably drop a buy-in or two before calling it a night. I ran into flopped straight under straight, which cost me about $250, stacked off with an overpair against a donk who finally caught a set, and finished down quite a bit from my peak. Still, a very good day overall as I move closer to 75k hands. I might actually hit $20k overall profit at 75k hands, which would be double what I had hoped.

I ran goot the past few days by T8Suited, June 20

So I was pleased about the $700 or so that I made the past few days. I however keep reminding myself that I didn't suffer from major outdrawing/suckouts.

Tuesday early morning -- +164 over 3.3k hands, 4.87 PTBB/100.

I lost 5 buy-ins when I pushed QQ preflop into KK and AA respectively, TT into KK twice on rag board in reraised pots, and finally KK into AA on another raggy board.

My big winning hands were more eventful:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215911
A hand that made me LOL. I was trying to squeeze multiple limpers with this utter garbage hand. I knocked out all but one, and continued hard when I paired the Q on the K-high board. When called I fired another barrel on the turn. I was disheartened when I was called. The river 3 gave me a glimmer of hope -- at least I overtook 1-pair hands. Turns out I didn't need it.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215913
I thought opponent had the Q. On the other hand since opponent called my massive overbet AI he must be thinking I was overplaying the Q coz he could beat a naked Q.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215915
I called a small preflop reraise, flopped a bottom pair + flush combo draw, pushed it, and turned the flush when called.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215916
I can't believe opponent isn't pushing his full house. What was he thinking about? He was beating a flush/JJ/trip aces after all.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215917
Flopping quads part 1. Preflop raiser flopped the full house and proceeded to double me up. Cooler for him.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215918
Flopping quads part 2. I was thinking about betting flop. Had I done that I would have botched the entire hand.

Tuesday early evening -- +150 over 437 hands, 34+ PTBB/100. A productive session, featuring both good reads and good luck.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215904
I flopped top-two after calling a mild preflop raise with this very speculative 75o, and I proceeded to destack my opponent who failed to lay down TP.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215905
My 9-high flush was good. I was surprised to learn soon afterwards that opponent also had a flush, albeit a baby one.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215906
Judging by opponent's feeble postflop play I was putting opponent on unimproved Ace-face, so I decided to check-raise all-in on the river hoping he felt committed to call. I was rewarded when my opponent called and lost with his Ace-high.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215907
AJ flopped TP. I decided to check-call beyond the flop, and it turned out that opponent was bluffing, which was fortunate for me.

Tuesday night session -- +$149 over 680+ hands for 21+ PTBB/100. I didn't play particularly well -- I just got lucky.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215888
A meh AA hand -- a lukewarm preflop raise, opponent setted on the flop, but I hit my 2-outer on the turn.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215889
AA vs KK. For a change AsAh actually holds up.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215890
A4h, flopped bottom pair + FD, and I wasn't pleased when my flop semibluff check-raise was called. But I turned the flush and destacked my opponent who completed his K-high draw.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215891
Just a retarded bluff. I was hoping opponent had some kind of TP/overpair hand, or maybe even a set, but unfortunately he had the Jack (he actually had 2 of them).

Back to 50NL I go... by gawdawaful, June 20

So gross. I didnt even make that many moron plays today either. Just got fucking coolered to hell.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215879
That 55 hand, I thought my play looks like a missed FD monkey river bluff type hand. Ran into the nuts, gg.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215880
wtf??
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/215882
21/16 and he picks up the fucking nuts a few hands after I 4bet shove pf for 100bbs and took it down.

The rest of the day, I either pick up aces and dont get action, or I pick up AK/AQ and miss the flop. So many 3 bet pots where I was forced to check fold turn OOP on ragged flop and shit. I dont even know why I bother sometimes.

Anyways, earlier tonight, I was channel surfing and saw some random show. Googled TV schedule for the show name, IMDB'ed the show and looked her up. Shes hot.

Resume playing 6-max 50NL by T8Suited, June 20

I've resumed playing ring games, which means it's time to revive this blog.

For a couple of months I played exclusively SNGs. Unfortunately I didn't make any progress. At times I moved from $16 to $27, and I didn't even win a single one of them when all's set and done. I even played two $55+5 and finished 3rd in one of them. Multi-table SNGs were a lost cause for me. I tried my luck with $3 and $6.5 Omaha hi/lo SNGs and had my moments.

But eventually I conclude that NLHE end ring games are more appealing.

For two weeks or so I moved two steps up to NL100, back onto the less aggressive/volatile 9-player tables, and enjoyed very modest success. But I decided that the stakes were a bit too high.

So I spent the last week doing two things. 1) Finish reading "No-limit Holdem -- theory and practice", and 2) playing 50NL 6-max, while enjoying some success (7.5 PTBB over 8k hands or so)

NLTAP is a fine book. It deals mostly with full-ring cash games, and it presents a few refreshing concepts, such as toning down aggression, and things to pay attention to when playing one-pair hands. One suggestion from the book that I am taking to heart is to not raise too much with AK. I could win some moderate pots by hitting outkicking TP hands, so why drive hands like KJ or AT away? Why put in a raise that only pocket pairs would call?

I still need to work on my extraction. Sometimes I flopped big on a fairly benign board, such as 33 on a 973 rainbow board, and I got too excited and blew away my opponent by bet-3-betting AI on the flop -- according to NLTAP this is a sign of a weak-tight player.

My preflop numbers are 27/12, which are not stellar. But according to NLTAP preflop numbers don't matter much as long as I play well postflop in big pots.

I'll post some hands once I get home and look them up on pokertracker.

I've been seriously considering moving to vegas and dealing at a casino 40-60 hours a week while playing part time on the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights seem most lucrative), what do you guys think about pursuing this for 1-2 years?

I figure I could still play a few good sessions per week, while being able to observe the best live players daily. I'd also have the means to be able to handle long-term variance in a city of the magnitude of Las Vegas.

I'm gonna think about this for the next couple weeks, lemme know what you think, pro's and con's.

Would you do it?

I have $2,500 right now
