80% of Single Table SnG games ($1.00 + $0.10) I have cashed either 1st or 2nd, so it is by far more profitable than my $0.50 a day at 1c/2c NL. Where by playing ~5 SnG games (yeah, i know, not a lot)I am making about $12 so it's better for my bankroll at the moment.

October: Running bad but staying afloat...by ShaunR, October 25
Hey all, first blog post here so I guess I could start with some background information about myself.
I've been a long time reader of teamliquid.net, as I used to play starcraft quite a bit - so that's how I found this website a few months ago and have been reading it ever since.
In the past I've also been an avid MMORPG player with my guild, conquest. My nickname EQ / Camelot / WoW was/is Itzlegend in case any of you knew me there. There is another poster on this site (who has a blog) with the name "Itzlegend", but that is not me. I do not have any clue who they are, or why they are using my nick (I am pretty confident that it is unique enough to not be randomly copied at this site). As soon as I asked them about it they disapeared without a trace. Maybe after a while I'll ask a mod to nuke that username and give it to me.
I started playing poker about a year ago, but only very casually. I read books and trained myself on the play money tables. After I made a couple million play money chips on pokerstars I felt I was ready to give it a go with real cash, so I started with a 50$ bankroll.
I played a little bit of ring, then played $5 SNGs for a while. Things went OK and my bank roll lasted quite a while, but eventually I didnt move down when i hit a downswing and ended up busto. Well, almost busto. I had exactly 67 cents left in my account. About 4 months ago or so I happened to open up the pokerstars software and noticed I still had 67 cents. I have since turned that 67 cents into a $1300 bankroll which I'm currently using to play at $50NL. I ran pretty hot at the 2$ tables for a little while, but after that I climbed up each level using proper bankroll management (always 10+ buyins) and promptly dropped back down when needed.
And that brings us to October. So far I feel like I've been playing pretty solid TAG poker, unfortunately I've recently been a consistent loser when the money goes in and have not won nearly my share of equity in all in situations the past 2 weeks.

o/ My second final table ever o/
I think I played pretty good throughout the tournament (except one suckout and when there was like 15 players left I didn't really adjust my game to my image well), picked my spots well and won a couple of flips Just sucks when you're card dead for long time and you get QQ just to get busted out by someones AA :'(
Anyways I was basically freerolling this tournament so I'm pretty happy ^^ Until the next final table o/
Took my laptop to the uni today cause I had a 3hr break. So I played for like 2hrs in library and saw a good nl600 table so apart from nl300 and nl400 I opened it as well. Needless to say I owned it:
Nit life, yo. I also lost like $500 at nl300 and nl400 but I can't post stats from PT cause they're mixed with results from yesterday (cause I played after midnight yesterday etc).
Me, Myth, and my roommate MARSHALL28 just played a .5/1 home-game, three-handed. We all bought in for just $100 to start, but the super aggressive dynamics of the game got us pretty deep fairly quickly. I can't remember the exact stack sizes, but the following hand absolutely owned me. Myth has officially become the sickest hero who has EVER lived.
Myth limps on the button. Marshall completes in the small blind, I check in the big blind with 97o. The flop is 776 rainbow, ding! So Marshall leads for $3, I raise to $15, Myth cold-calls $15, and Marshall calls $12 more. The turn is an off-suit 5. Marshall checks, I lead for $35, Myth shoves for about $150 more, Marshall folds, and I quickly fold my hand face-up to his obvious monster.
So Myth shows 42o for the single sickest play in the history of the world. I ended up tilting off a lot of money later by playing like a huge donk in typical CosMo fashion. But then I bad-beat Marshall for a HUGE pot with the most retarded hand in the world, ship!!! So I somehow miraculously profited on the night, despite Myth absolutely DEMOLISHING me in every pot we played.
won a pretty big trophy , a glamorous congratulation message and 95 cent !
besides that i got some university results.
I passed 10 / 11 written tests ! ( physiology , SPorts history etc.)
And i passed 10 / 10 practical sport tests. ( like basketball , gymnastics, dancing , Athletics , swimming etc. )
pretty nice results imo.
next week i ll probably pull of a DustySwedeDude
I have a date with a girl who has a bit of a fat ass besides her average okay looks. ( well not really fat , but since i am very athletic body type myself i consider her ass kinda fat ^
I told her that i have no further intention but to have fun with her
she was like : Okay do with me whatever you want ^^
Well she is no Jessica Alba but also not ugly
" everybody needs some love "
and i havent had sex for like 3 month T_T
Life is easy !
EDIT
MTTs suck big time
I returned from University and just played my first small Ipoker MTT SNG few minutes ago to see how their blind structures are. 2 $ 3 tables
I got all-in 4 times being totally dominated T_T
I've had some very swingy sessions both live and online, as variance has kicked in in a big way. My last live session was particularly crazy, with me going down big and getting it all back plus profit by going on a 3 buy-in upswing (~€900) in less than an hour (about 25-30 hands max). It was kinda my own doing though. I had decided to be a degenerate and forgo a planned online session and instead went to the casino to win rent money, which was due the next day. About three hours in, I was getting a bit frustrated due to running breakeven all night, so I decided it was time for some GAMBOL. I shoved into a calling station luckbox with QhTh on the turn on a board of Jh 3h 8s Td, who turned up with a filled gutshot (97o), and I missed the river for a vaguely €850 pot. This tilted me a little, and my VPIP% probably went from about 14 to 47 for the next hour or so, as I kept trying to get into pots to use my mad post-flop skillz to get some money back. I picked up Qh9h on the button, and flopped 999, but stupidly bet out the flop and got folds all round, which tilted me even more. I calmed down when I won a buy-in w/ KK vs. AQ all-in on a Q hi rainbow flop, and then picked up QQ UTG on the last hand of the night, just as the casino was closing. I raised pot and got six callers. Just as I was contemplating how the hell one is supposed to play Queens OOP in a 7-way pot, I stumbled upon the solution: flop top set. And so I did, and the board came Qd5c6c. I bet out about 2/3 pot and got called by a solid if overly loose player (a dealer on his night off). It was folded to the casino owner on the button, who's a bit of a nit, and he pumped it to €150. I shoved for ~€500, and the solid player shoved over the top of me. The owner thought about it for a while, then mucked AQ face up, and the solid player turned over Ac8c for the nut flush draw. 6s on the turn, ship me my rent money!
My online play has been very swingy too, with me spending the last 11 days or so getting up BIG and almost to the $1000 threshold for 50NL, and then going on a near 10 buy-in downswing to bring me back to pretty where I was. I also took a 1 buy-in shot at 50NL, but got my AA cracked by KQo AIPF, flop KQQ. Stats below, I couldn't be bothered to post hands right now:
Long story short, i cashed most of my roll like 6 month ago.
It was one of these moment, where i stared at my roll, thinking "WOW THAT IS SO MUCH MONEY" (was like 1.5k), and then i cashed ALL of it.
Now i can say, that was fucking stupid
After that, i spend most of my time trying different website, just fucking around, putting in 50$, grinding low stakes, trying some SNG / PLO etc. not doing any real money. Each time got to like 200-500 then get bored with the grinding. I really got a problem with grinding, it bores me so fast that i have trouble building my rolls. I guess that the dark side of poker, as a winning players you are supposed to play 95% of the time guy that you own. So there is rarelly this "thrill" that you would get in a normal ladder where you always play people of your skill. It happens only when you move up, wich is a very little portion of your time compared to the time spend grinding limits you already own.
2 weeks ago i wanted to start making real money, so i started with like 400$, and quickly got it up to like 1350$ by sticking to the grind :D
I think my stat are good, i am gonna try a shot at NL 100 as soon as i hit 1.5k
