Sweet game. Just played the single player straight through from beginning to end tonight. It's 6am and now I'm going to sleep. Really fun and probably the best war game I've played other than Operation Flashpoint.
I'm tired and hungry now, yet strangely still very satisfied.
One of my major flaws was bankroll management. Thru Neilly's blog, i realised there was actually alot of him in me. I was always too greedy, wanting to move up too fast with a too little roll to play the higher stakes. I did not have problems winning at those limits, but when variance kicked in, i got fucked.
And when that happened, i could never move down, ill only move down to a limit where my roll could barely afford and try to double up so i could get back to the ridiculous limit i tried playing at.
Now i finally have that problem fixed, and i have grinded my way up with 9 tabbing NL10 from $100 to NL25 $320 in 2 days. The games are realllly easy. If my roll drops below $250, i will start playing NL10 again. I learnt it the hard way, but i did learn.
Once again, thanks Neilly!
Hopefully you have learnt your lesson too.
Guess I didn't need BR management afterall. Just needed a good ole' fashion run of cards. Started chopping with my buddy (pykesgoinpro) and we are up like 40k in 3 days. If it wasn't for a coin flip against Raszi and a few really tough spots, we were up 50 in 3 days.
This one of the tough spots against Raszi:

It could have been bluff, but I highly doubt it. Draws filled and it was the tough sell draw.
sucky end of the year for me pokerwise, everything else is going good.
Thought i'd add some advice that i used to use to control the rising tide of anger that comes at times when your aces lose allin pf 3 times in a row etc etc. We all have those feelings now and again, though the more you play the more able you are to control them.
Anyway it only came back to me due to a monsterous hand i had recently, so i thought i'd post it.
Just save the biggest suckout you've ever done on someone in a text file and after a bad beat load it up and smile at the sweet goodness that is poker.
been 9 tabling 50nl at UB and so far things are good, not great, but at least im back to winning again. won back most of what ive lost in my first couple of sessions here at 6max. ran so incredibly stupid there came a point where i started questioning if cbetting was ever a good strat or just a spew lol
br 2200
target 3k by the end of january, very modest but ill try to move to 100nl by then.
Just had a rough session on NL100. Only lost about 1 buyin, but I just feel destroyed. My mind is burnt out and I was having trouble keeping up with 4 tables. Very weird considering that @ NL25 I was doing 8 (and sometimes going for 16) and @ NL50 I was usually playing 6. I guess I'm just thinking more, which is good, but man it hurts my head.
I'm getting into lot's of situations that I've never been in before. I am afraid I'm getting FPS because I don't know if my tricky moves are being done at the right time. I feel a bit lost... but at the same time I am making some very solid plays. But my mistakes are very costly and they're killing my winrate.
Posted a bunch of hands and hopefully some advice will come to help me out. I guess this is just the transition period of moving up a limit. Some nights it's all super easy fish and old strategy is fine, other nights you have to step up the game a bit to win and it's confusing in the new ground.
I have been able to open up my PFR range and play around 23/21, which is huge for me since I used to be doing between 14/11 and 17/14. But I am also doing a lot of trickier things and checking when I used to bet and raising/betting where I used to check. Also more bluffing, though those haven't been as detrimental to my game as bad calls have been.
I dunno, just ranting. I feel like I can overcome it all but not feeling the greatest right now. I made sure to post some hands and I've decided to watch another CR vid on LAG play before getting onto the tables again. For now I'm gonna go play Call of Duty 4 which I got for xmas and haven't opened yet. Get my mind away from poker for a bit.
Well i've been slaughtering NL100 for a few weeks, running at 6bb/100 for the last 25k hands.
So i was easily bank rolled for NL200 and moved up.
Not sure if its a combination of playing like a scared fish and getting sucked out on or just generally playing badly but i've dropped a bit. (6buyins in 2 days which has hurt my BR a fair bit, still rolled for it but just barely.) Going to move back to NL100 for a few days to calm down and evaluate.
Would appreciate feedback on some of these hands.
I know some are just bad beats, shoving straight flush draws etc. And some are moronic plays reraising pf and then calling donkey river bets when i know i'm beat. But maybe i'm beating badly in situations and stuff.
any advice suggestions are welcome.
i think my next post will be some of my winning hands to see where i can extract more money. i think my river bets are crap
I think I need to adjust my play a bit, my graph makes me think I am not playing well at nl25. It looks like it swings too much. I'll post some hands later that I have some questions about from this session.
Ok so since last post i have played a lil and ofcourse i lost a lot cause i was trying to lag on NL25 LOL lost ~100 last 50 was on tilt, it was yesterday and i wasn't in mood to update blog so i do it now, played some NL10 max with not bad result and also PLO10, up 3bi! probably tomorrow ill be to busy to update blog so i'll do it on new year , happy new year everyone, oh and i also received cashout from hollywood, still waiting for pokersavvy points tho
Oh man, this really sucks big time. I'm sorry to disappoint you all but I didn't make the 300K vpp milestone, =(. I really tried hard, i even played 14K hands in 24 hours but I still couldn't hit. Next year I guess. I would like to wish everyone a late Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Also I have a video of my gf, I’ll let you guys watch. Its her first video on Youtube, she just wants to know if shes double-jointed. Enjoy. =)
On Wednesday night, I'm heading up to Turning Stone for their Winter Poker Weekend. Flying out of NYC at 10:55p and getting into Syracuse at 12:05a, then heading over to TS.
It's the first time I've played a live series of tourneys, so I'm looking forward to this a lot. I suck too much to qualify for PCA, and fuck FTP and the Aussie Millions --- so I'm heading up to TS with my boy Brian (BJLTNYK) to win a few tourneys and doze some cash game nits.
If anyone's gonna be there, let me know. Otherwise, leave a comment wishing me luck or death (1 or the other, please... not both)
So I thought today was the 31st and not the 30th so I decided I needed to get silverstar since I was so only 200fpps away. I know I'm a bright kid, anyway I was so retardedly hungover that when I played 6max my head was hurting and I didn't want to think so I switched to FR and just sat and nut peddled. Overall on the day it went real well, made 4 buyins and I got my silverstar after only 7 days of playing 10nl and 25nl and logging some MAJOR hands. On a side note I have determined that Lee jones and the entire pokerstars staff hates me, the hand below further proves it.
Since I can't find my CDkey anywhere for microsoft office on my new computer I'm going to be tracking my bankroll daily on here starting today since I can't track it in excel at the moment.
Bankroll:$502.37

So I still can't win shit in poker, but I'm not losing either so I guess you could say that I've gotten it somewhat under control. Dunno. I'm thinking that better table selection and less shot taking might be good, so I'll try that for a while. I pretty much want my rakeback so that I can get about 10k or something which is a pretty decent enough roll to rebuild from. Anyway, here's a couple of goals and resolutions for the new year:
Goals:
1. 5k €/month from poker.
2. Have sex with a new girl at least every third month, or get into a committed relationship whit a girl all my friends consider far out of my league.
3. Get decent grades.
4. Live a fun life.
New year resolutions:
1. I will practice better bankroll management (25bi before I take shots, 40bi before I move up for good and such)
