I was soo fucking drunk yesterday .. i still cant play cashgame poker ...
I guess i would lose lots of money ...
So i just played 2 tourneys today and fucked up both ... -14 $ ( i did well in the beginning but then got bored and played bad)
UFC79 was nice ...
I watched the fights eariler in the morning. ( not live but like a few hours later)
I was impressed by the Iceman.
Though I think he is past his prime and wont play any major role anymore in the future of MMA it was really nice to see him doing backfists , Taekdowns and ellbows vs Wanderlei
GSP my Idol also showed a frigthening good performance.
I am still too destroyed to do anything usefull ... but i found a nice video on youtube.
Pirates of the Carribean soundtrack on a Final Fantasy Video
To all who think I am a bankroll nit. Yes I am. I've tried move up before and can't help but feel like I'm playing with scared money.

Just when I thought I was God's gift to poker I played one of the worst sessions ever on Friday. Detailed stats are missing coz I was playing at my work PC and left the office in disgust after my last debacle without emailing those history files to myself. But I promise I'll eventually post those hands, so that you can either 1) laugh at me or 2) offer me advices if you're kind enough, and I can revisit those hands and try to learn from the mistakes.
I did more than recover those monies today, played all right -- just slightly better than opponents.
Fri pm 3700+ hands ??/?? -$600+
Sat pm 825 hands 16/10 $420.85 +25.51 PTBB/100
Sat eve 843 hands 18/10 $417.95 +24.79 PTBB/100
My 100NL 6-max PT Stats now looks like this: 18k hands, +$4072, +11.2 PTBB/100. Don't know how much the Friday disasters will affect those glorious numbers.
so last 3 days ive lost whatever i was up on the month. not much roughly probly 3k or so. ive been running awful @ NL200. my bad run has been more in the fashion of cooler after cooler instead of really being sucked out every big hand. ive just had so many setups like oversets and overflushes and stuff.
the best part is im not really upset. i just want to know i can beat NL200 playing 16 tables is all. this bad run as actually taught me a lot. first not to move to NL400 bc im not good enough and bc i want a 20k roll before doing so. secondly that i am emotionally handling this shitty run pretty well. i am not rly upset about it and that will come in handy down the road as i aspire to play professionally sometime down the line. hopefully in the upcoming year i can make a good amount of money and find the time to put in a lot of hands per month. i really wanna be playing NL400/NL600 by summertime and be deeply rolled for it. i have to improve my game a ton as i dont think im one of the better regs @ NL200.
gl and have a nice new year,
shaneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeOmac
So well as you've seen previously, i ran like complete absolute uter trash this month, i probably played like gawbage too, either way i've decided to focus on heads up now, i'm going to go thru all the coaching, videos and stuff that i can get, analyze my hands, and work on getting good reads on the players.
BUT most of all i'm going to focus on playing very solid poker, and work on emotional control, cuz god knows that heads up needs a strong heart and a very solid discipline!
I'm starting with NL200, i have over 200 buy ins so i shud be fine, just wanna kind of test the water, and then i'll move up to 2/4 and 3/6 until i hit like 60-70k for 5/10!
Looking forward to play against people like N0rthface at the end of next year :D!
Just got done dumping 2k at 400nlby capaneo, December 29
Well, I ran bad. And got sucked out really hard twice. But it wasn't really because of the bad run. I play a little tighter than my usual game which was basically what to blame IMO. Anyhow at the end I loosen up a little and got some good hands and made some good calls as well. And I decided to give it a break. Even though 2k isn't really that much to me (I won 2k at 200nl last night) It still kinda sucks. Anyway, I haven't decided to play 400nl tomorrow or 200nl but I will probably try to make another 2k at 200nl before dumping it at 400nl again. http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/1878be12c9fc27add6cb82ea305b073e.jpg
So from now on I've decided I will be making more regular blog entries with two quests in mind. Number one bring more girls into the LP community, and number two give random updates on Ottawa Senators hockey games that I frequently attend. With pictures most of the time of course.
Tonights Game:
Ottawa lost 8-6 with 7 goals scored in the third period. Easily the sickest game I've seen all year. Ottawa had sloppy neutral zone turnovers and Gerber failed to make any big saves at key times. That being said I did bear witness to Alexander "the gr8" Ovechkin's first 4 goal performance as an NHL'er. Pretty spectacular player. Spezza and Alfie also had there usual strong performances.
Poker EV is being a bitch, but I was down over 1k in allin equity.. yay.
On the plus side, I got dual 19inch monitors now and my electronics voucher arrived and I bought a 37inch LG LCD TV.. pretty sick, the 360 looks insane.
Won't play again until next year, going away for new years eve..
I Played around 1k hands at nl25 today, and I continued to run well.
I really dislike the micro stackers at nl25. I think it affects my game. I tighten up my raising range from late position because I do not want to deal with the micro stacks calling me. Should I not adjust my raising range and just continue to play normal, and be tight against the micro stacks post flop?
Well, I decided to 12-table $6 SNGs after seeing Daut's CR video and I broke completely even. I got rivered too many times which made me miss the money every time but it was a fun experience.
After a shitty NL2 downswing on nitty FR stars I decided to switch to six max. I tried choosing tables well on stars in full ring but it just didn't pay off. People just shy away from raised pots unless they have the good and I was sick of never having anyone hit anything on the flop to stay in with me or my image was just way too nitty.
Anywhoo, 6max has been great as the players are easily exploitable because, number one they are terrible and number two they are actually putting money into the pot and not afraid postflop. It also helps that I'm on a heater and up 19 bucks in an hour and a half. Stay off nl2 6max if u want to keep ur cash =) jk im still pretty bad
Anyone have numbers on standard preflop %'s for hands played in 6max and FR for my level?
Here's the song that fueling my heater (if you enjoy acoustic guitar and classic rock you may like this):
Play Good, Run Good, Profit.by JonnyCosMo, December 29
Definitely not playing enough poker. I blame my friends who think what I do for a living is "lame" and "unproductive". I swear if I had the skills for a job that pays as good as this, I'd be doing that. But I don't have those kind of skills, so for the time being, this will have to do. This month has been pretty smooth for the most part, was kind of a grind in the middle of it, then out of nowhere I had a pretty killer 1.5 hour session just now. Here are some of the hands from it:
Winning 56% of my showdowns made me feel like god for once. Hands were holding, draws were getting there, I was winning half my coinflips! Shit was working like it was suppose to! Don't know how much I'm going to be playing for the rest of the month, might just take a break til next year. So here is december's PT:
For the past few days, I have been running like shit on FTP. Peaked br at 1970 about 8k hands ago, it dropped to 1300 earlier today and now after 4k hand session I have it at 1525.
So in other b33tz news, I like, drive home from kantoikis house after staying there all night long and playing the session, decide to get some maccas, and the bitch forgot the barbeque sauce. Fkn who the fuck can eat nuggets without sauce? I decide, "no biggie, I'll use our own sauce" but turns out we're out of barbeque sauce in the pantry. So like, FUCK THAT, I'm definitely going to have my meal with SOME kind of condiment. So tomato sauce it is...I pour it onto a plate, take it to my room, put it on my desk, and then I fkn somehow manage to drop the plate of sauce all over the carpet. Mum wakes up, bitches at the mess, bitches at me for staying out all night, and I'm left with a big mother fucking stain on my carpet. I should try sueing maccas for the stain...it is their fault I had to get a plate of sauce in the first place! fucking useless shites!
Im fuckin sick of tournies.by capaneo, December 29
I cahsed out in 4 out of the 4 I've played today. But Im seriously sick of this random morons shoving JT preflop after the bubble and suckin out. one fuckin retard called over 30BB with 99 from BB after the 3rd raise and obv it held against my AK right after the fuckin bubble! What da fuck is going on? How can you get deep into these shits?
I bought a subscription to GrinderSchool.com for $15 through a transfer on Pokerstars. Immediately I downloaded their NL10 videos. I learned so much and fixed so many holes it is amazing. I was down 4 buyins in total for NL10 and after two tabling for about 2hours I am now up 6 buy ins.
Through the videos I learned things such as betting sizes, positioning, and proper note taking on other players. I have had some tough positions, but I think I made the right choices on them.
The players overall are definitely winners on NL5 however they are mostly calling stations, so betting more to get more $ out of them is very easy.
Some of the calling stations I'm talking about are in places where a player flops full house and checks until the river until they shove and get very little value out of their hand.
I have opened my ranges a lot more, and I bet a lot less with weaker hands because of the calling stations to minimize my losses.
I'm going to wait until I get 20 BI's for NL25 which is about ~$500 maybe $550. Anywhere around there.
Finally things are starting to look bright for the future.
