Cant beat NL5 lol by Critterer, February 15

Warning: Whinepost INC

Well, ive been playing some nl5 the last few days, cos i cashed out a couple month ago, and have now been 12 tabling 6max, playing 16/12 or so, to rebuild.

And all im doing is losing masses. I'm down $80 at nl5, but its definitely not bad play.

Its pretty unreal how bad im running, i'm tempted to say "I'm glad im running like this at nl5 instead of when i get back higher" but i know very well it makes no fucking difference and tomorrow i have as much chance of continuing the bad run as anyone else.

Either way, 16 buyins is a fair bit, or well, im buying in for $10 so i guess its not really 16 buyins but it still sucks.

All my big hands are losing hands over the last 6k hands, AA KK QQ JJ TT most other pairs too, AK AQ AJ AT none of these hands are turning a profit lol. Pretty sick really. Its okay though im still rolled for it so no worries, but seriously if i dont start running good soon im actually going to go bust, for the first time ever. Technically following a decent bankroll management i "cant" go bust, but i will if this keeps up, itll just take a long time. Dunno really when i shud move down either, i guess at like $50 or something.

Either way, over the last couple days ive taken the most ridiculous amount of beats, i tilted some at the start but theres just too many, i'm beyond tilt now. I just get my money in ahead and see the gutshot hit in a RR pot and think "standard". I guess thats good.

This is becoming a big big whine so dunno wtf. O well.

Gl the rest of u~~~!

Selling: WoW Account by NotSorry, February 15

Looking to get rid of my wow account. LvL 70 UD Mage on the US PvP server Tichondrius, it's open for server/account transfering, about 2.5k gold on character and flying mount. Armory currently showing my raid gear. Also got just under 5k arena points banked and a very solid PvP gear set up including pieces from both arena 1 and 2 sets as well as crafted epics all jeweled and enchanted to the tits.

The transaction will be a completely legal transfer of ownership as stated in the Blizzard EULA.

Any questions send me a pm or msg me on aim at ArtofAlone.

Poker you are a fickle lover indeed, but I will always <3 you.

Feelings that once were hidden
Are now expressed to you.
Days that once were stormy
Are now the brightest blue.

Times that once were lonely
Are now filled with pleasure.
All that once was mine alone
Are now things we both treasure.

Nights that once were cold
Are now comforting and warm.
Fears that once were very real
Are now gone with the storm.

A heart that once was broken
Can now finally mend.
A person once alone in life
Can now call you a friend.

Dreams that once were longed for
Are now all coming true.
The love I once thought was gone
I have now and forever in you.

Happy Valentines Day! by JonnyCosMo, February 15

Oh yea... that was yesterday. Whatever, I'm always late on these things. So I did the standard thing on Valentines Day night: Rounded up a bunch of my single friends which include non-other than FrinkX and [vital]Myth (although I'm not exactly sure how single Myth is...) and went out to Sandbar on Mission Beach to get shit face drunk! Here is a funny vid I took of El Toro of Love:

Absolutely love how Myth is berating my friend in the background for eating chocolate. Gotta finish blog with pics obv:

Tonight I'm suppose to go downtown for a birthday party... More on that if I'm alive tomorrow morning.

HU is ez by SakiSaki, February 15

I think that If I just could maintain dicipline and handle hu swings like a robot I should stick to playing HU only. 6-max can be really frustrating even at 1/2 and 2/4 on weekdays with alot of regulars that atleast have some grasp of how to play poker. Profit just comes so much easier hu, everyone wears their leaks around their necks and the diffrence in experience and deep understanding of poker fundamentals generates such huge profits.

Oh and I really ran good today aswell

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/344/hufebhv4.png

I have a problem with hand histores though. It doesnt seem like pokertracker makes any diffrence between 6-max and hu so all hand histories gets lumped into one category really fucking with my 6-max stats. Anyone know how to fix this?

Also, penicillin is fucking amazing. 5 hours ago I hard a really hard time swallowing anything and drinking a glass of water was a fucking epic struggle. I took two pills and now I could eat a raw boar.

All hail Alexander Flemming!

OMG I cried by T8Suited, February 15

I had a church choir practice earlier tonight. I'm leaving Canada for good Sat Feb 23rd which means this weekend will be the last time I meet this group of people.

So at the end we gathered around, and as someone was saying the closing prayer all of a sudden I found teardrops rolling down my cheeks!?

This is the first time I cried for a non-girlfriend-related incident in like, what, 15 years? I couldn't believe I did this.

Before people open their eyes I turned away and headed for the bathroom. I hope no one saw it.

Seriously, these people have been genuinely nice to me, I feel grateful to them, and obviously I'll miss them.

Onto something less depressing:

Any opinions on this very small sample?
I'm not 100% sure what im looking to see stat wise, imo my 1hr session went well. Im just starting to get used to the UB platform, so i played only 1-2 tables.

All opinions are appreciated.

Games are tough by Pillars, February 14

My impression is that the 3/6 6-max games on Pokerstars have gotten much tougher over the past few months. I began to notice this at the tail end of 2007, and feel even more strongly that this is the case halfway through February. The overall skill level of the poker community continues to rise. This not only means that more and more skilled 2/4 players are moving up, it also means that some of the very skilled high-stakes players are moving *down* to 3/6 since the toughness of 5/10 and 10/20 has probably increased as well. Seeing people like DerekJC9954, RaSZi, gp333, and B Buddy regularly multi-tabling 3/6 is pretty depressing.

It also doesn't help that I seem to continue to lose my stomach for the game. I just don't enjoy the game much anymore, which means I'm much less observant at the table, which means I'm learning at a slower rate than I should be [and in some sense, not really 'learning' much at all at this point, which is awful.]

An unwillingness to learn will just increase my frustration with the game since it'll mean my edge will become less and less pronounced. Being a competitive person, it's also difficult to stomach some of the regulars outplaying me on a consistent basis. This isn't something I'm accustomed to when playing games. Then again, most of the time I'd stop *playing* a game when I got to the point where I no longer enjoyed it. This is a pretty unique situation in that regard, as there are motivations outside the context of the game itself [read: $$$] that keep me playing.

Most of my long-term thinking has taken for granted the income I'll be able to generate through poker. Perhaps I should start constructing some alternative scenarios...

this month so far.... by whamm!, February 14

so far feb has been pretty abc, little variance and smooth sailing. no heaters yet but can't complain too coz coolers were also few and far between. i think i can hit 12k BR by end of the month and finally move up to 200nl as scheduled. today i won almost 3bi and plan on playing a little 25nl coz i feel like playing some relaxed poker. This year so far has been so good and i hope this keeps up for a little longer. The reason that I'm saving up for the next limit is because I never again want to be put in a position wherein I panic when my br reaches like 25bi, I hate moving down after making a stab at the next level and it tilts me everytime. This way I have enough buffer to cushion the effects of a downswing, while not worrying when I can make another stab at the limit i wish to move up to. 25nl to 200nl in two months aint bad , aint bad at all

License Plate Decision by PanoRaMa, February 14

Sorry for lack of posts, got sick today (Valentines Day too fdsofmdsf), and just have been busy overall. Wanted to write another essay or whatever but not right now since I'm on the verge of dying. So instead, I wanted to get some suggestions for the license plate that my upcoming car will have. California allows 7 characters max, any combo of letters or numbers and some stars or hearts or w/e too.

The ones I like so far are:
JEAAAAA
ROBUSTO
IRUNBAD
LOLG35S

Last one is a bit cocky and its only if I do get a g37, but I also don't like it because what if there's a new G model out eventually, I'll look like a fool :[. Any suggestions?

edit: Forgot to mention there's a 5/10 ftp player at my school who has "SHIPPIT" on a g35 and he's cool w/ me so I don't want to disrespect him by also getting a derivative form of ship it .
