Kick start. by Ond keso, March 04

March have been pretty good for me so far. Been on a mega heater and won like 17 buyins last 3,5k hands (5days).
This means that i accomplished my first goal in poker! Reach a bankroll of $1000!

I dont have any hands i can remember i had trouble with, sens everything been so easy last couple day. But i guess the heater will slowdown soon and i can post more whine for you to read. Only hand worth posting is this, which i find quite funny.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/398241

As i feel now i will continue to play NL25 on stars sometime now, as rednines is down. Do you think i should be playing on a site that offers rakeback? I like the stars client much more then primas so i donno.

Next goal is to "feel" ready to take NL50 shots. Next month i think.

Do fat people punch good? by R_I, March 04

They got huge arms right? A while ago at my friend's girlfriend's 25th birthday party I made her cry by somehow insinuating that she was fat and dumb. She only cried and didn't punch me so I didn't have my question answered.

Oh well.

Anyway, after replies to my previous blog post I'm taking shots at NL5 with a BR of $170. My first session was negative 16bb (-$3) which is not too bad considering I thought I would lose both my $6 buyins. It feels really fresh, like I'm starting poker again. Raising to 20c at least is like a huge amount to me lol. Hopefully I can get some positive results and not drop down to $150 which is back to NL2 time. Stay tuned for results both from poker and if I decide to go piss off some fat people to answer my burning questions.

spewtardation by collegesucks, March 04

i've been playing awfully spewy/bad these past few sessions so i'm taking a break.

just not thinking, making bad moves in all the wrong places

a lot of tilt inducing hands too:

KK vs. A4o 3bet pot A4o catches AAx
KQ vs. AQo flop comes QQx
tons of flopped sets beaten

but mostly horrible horrible plays that i'm too ashamed to mention... hemorrhaging chips, basically

and this little gem:

medicore run continues >-< by PplusAD, March 04

I run fucking bad ...
but thats no news >_<

- 50 € today in 2 K hands...

session started out sweet.

http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7823/loldt5.jpg

And basically i didnt go much better for the rest of the session ...

I never hit my big draws ( FD + guthsot , FD + OESD , FD + overcards etc)
Villian always hit his rubbsih draws when he paid way to much to see the next card ...
3 times my made hand got rivered for a stack by a guthsot that hit on river ...

I run KK into AA QQ into KK and TT into JJ on undervard flops ....

basically just everything went completely wrong..

wasted 4h of time to lsoe 50 €

>_<

i am awaiting + 100€ rakeback though in the next days which will cheer me a bit up i guess

Yippie key yea! by DustySwedeDude, March 04

So my class will come over to my place and have a pre-party in like half an hour, I've got 72 cans of beer, a little bit of the stronger stuff and new clothes for about 600€. I'm also up a fair bit during my first 5 or 6 k hands this month so everything pwns.

Also, I felt really out of place in some old jeans, a "Irish I was Drunk" t-shirt and a Unibet hoodie when I went to buy a 400€ suit at some stuck up place my friend took me too. He told me that I looked like "a poker player with too much money and too little taste" and that he would do the shopping. I trusted his judgment and I think it worked out fine.

Also, I signed up for Leggopoker and I think I've learned a few things, or it might just be that I cut down from 8 to 6 tables and actually plays poker instead of checking the call/raise any box all the time.

First 10K hands by thestoryteller, March 04

I'm shocked. I've actually made it through my first 10K hands, and when you have two jobs, two pets, several projects, a small garden and a wife competing for time and attention, that's not easy to do. I can't believe it took me more than a month to play what Kimseongchan apparently plays in a day. It's not a huge number of hands, to be sure, but it's further than I expected to get. I used to have a student whom I praised lavishly for getting 7/20 for his comprehension - a vast improvement on the 3/20 he usually got. Now I know how he felt.

Half of me didn't expect to make it this far, the other half expected that I'd be bankrupt if I did. To my surprise, I've actually made a modest profit. It's probably a result of the small sample size, though. I'm quite sure it will vanish in the next 10K hands.

I only have 2 main goals for my next 10K hands: learn to play AKo, JJ and TT properly (I'm making losses on those, which I shouldn't) and learn when to fold nice hands like AA when someone's line ought to tell me he has a straight or something.

It's a small sample size and I'm still stumbling along, but... do any stats jump out?

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/a449379b70deccc7ee88228916e1a3dc.jpg

And, of course, the mandatory graph:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/d9d7386d00a060a27aaef882b950c539.jpg

On another note, I mentioned to a friend that I was playing online poker. "That's boring," she responded. "I like to play in a casino. I don't care about winning. I give myself 200 dollars each time to play blackjack and just walk away when it's gone. I just want to have fun."

"I want to have fun too," I said, mystified, "but surely it's only fun when you're winning, right?"

Staked for 10x 4/180s by jase, March 04

So nutshot has been so kind to stake me for 10 of these, I've played 4 and gone deep in each one, usually about 10 off the bubble only to get sucked out on, maybe I should be folding to the money at lesat when I'm playing with a stake, but I really do want to take one of these down.
I lost KK to JJ, KA to KJ/AJ (not that bad) and another time hit the nut-flush on the turn only to get it in against bottom set and him to river a fullhouse lol, oh well. Hopefully the next few will go better and I can make myself and nutshot some $$$

In other news; ASIAN RICKROLL

OH ALSO how could i forget, tonight was the semi-final for the one dayers (cricket) in Australia, a streaker ran onto the field whilst Andrew Symonds was batting, this is how he retaliated;

Grinding a lot online lately by RaiNKhAN, March 03

Finally back in my rhythm after a lot of pep-talks with players like mig.com, SooCrispy, tjbentham and my brother(not a poker player). While being a tournament player you go through a series of devasting emotions when you see your fellow colleuges crushin the online tournaments and raking in the big $20,000.00+ scores weekly. I always questioned myself after the WSOP, because I hadn't won anything big online since the end of October. I know now that after all this travelling on the live circuit and running of the mind that the only real way to see a secure consistent winning month is to put in excessive amounts of volume and dedication to the game. People really aren't joking when they say they're grinding. As tedious as this game can be, I think it's the quality of how repetitive things can get which makes it so highly profitable since our opponents we choose to profit off of are poor at maintaining their focus for such an extended period of time. That being said, LEEEEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTSSSSSSSS GGGGGGGGETTTTTTT READDDDDDDDYYYYYYYY TOOOOO RRRRUUUUUUMMMMMMMMBBBBBBBBBLLLLLLEEEEEE!

Moved to 50 NL by BJLTNYK, March 03

Finally made the jump to 50 NL tonight. Man did I get raped in the ass hard at the beginning. Absurd beats left and right. I decided to keep playing because I felt that I was still on top of my game and not steaming. Proud of the results.

Showing Progression by nullmind, March 03

I'm very happy I was able to post again so soon. I had a really good sessions today. Less bad beats and got pretty lucky compared to other days. When I started 5nl, it started out great as always then I got confident and went huge downfall about 6bi downswing. I was almost thinking of going back to 2nl but after some break, I started playing better and slowly progressed up. I finally got 20bi for the next stake(10nl). It was faster than I expected but I'm not complaining. I think I'm improving but theres so many leaks that I need to fix =/. Hopefully, I can continue this progression throughout 10nl stakes too.

Y HALLO THAR by WilsWils, March 03

SOOOOO it's been quite a long while since my last update.

Here is what has happened.

So yea, i got a new job doing ADSL tech support which is actually insanely easy. Most customers are just confused and i love helping out customers who dont know what a home button is, and im completely serious. They get all happy when you help them so i feel its like +karma for me. Also the pay + benefits is great (vision/med/dental/19$ hr), schedules posted 5 weeks in advance with 100% shift swapping allowed, nice managers, and a pretty good school shift schedule (24-27 hrs a week which is ezzz). I've decided that i CAN! make time to go back to poker online and wont need to w/d my FTP roll just yet. I was on an epic -1500$ downswing that was really just the cause of playing when i was tired, running a bit bad, but then just playing like dog poo @ 100nl (FR / 6 MAX) and getting crushed. Solution? Take a long break and restart @ 50nl, and play some LOL1/2 live with my fellow degens direleif and philrocks123.

So where to begin?

Well after the first break me phil and sputgop head on over to one of the many casinos in edmonton. Sputgop sits down at a 1/2 UNCAPPED omaha / he game, while i sit down at good ole 1/2 HE. Nothing great really happens until this one hand where i lead into some internet hot shot with a NFD + TPTK on a 9h7hJcKh board, where he flat my SB raise. He calls my turn bet and then open shoves the river when it bricks and i check to him, he then looks at me and goes "i knew u were on a big semi bluff. I floated you on purpose"

life tilt

he fucking looked at me and said

I FLOATED YOU ON PURPOSE

i didnt know what i could do i swear to god i blew a few blood vessels at this dude who was probably some 2+2 ass mongrel

anyway, i proceed to get AA in sb with 1 LP limper. i pop it up to 15 (1/2 plays like 2/4 tbqh) and 2+2 faggot min-reraises, and LP shoves all in for 150 more. I have about 300 in front, say "Thank you jesus i have waited so long to stack this retard" and announce "I RAISE ALL U CAN EAT LOLOOloLOll`olo`lol`" and shove it in. He stares at me with this insanely retarded hollywood stare then snap calls his 350~ stack with KK. Sb had like 78 or some shit

Flop Q 10 7

turn K
/puke

The disgusting thing is after he hits the 2 outer he smugly smiles at me like he planned this all along, so disgusting. As he scoops my monies he goes "Better luck next time"

funny thing? he went busto when i left the table about an hour later KAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAKAK ^________________________^

anyway after i busted iw ent over to sputgop's table and i lol'd as he accumulated a 1500$ stack from his starting 250$ investment. It was disgusting, people were playing retardedly loose in this omaha game, calling 50$ bets because they had "pot odds" with their 8 high gutterball flush straight draws.

DRAWING TO THE NON NUTS IN FULL RING OMAHA = WINNING PLAY AT THE CASINO CLEARLY

anyway sputgop wins a big pot when his top 2 improve to a top boat on the river, whihc also end up flushing 2 other shorties. He checks to a black dude who fires out, and a tighty whitie who flat calls. Sputgop throws in a beefy 3x reraise and gets flat called by both of them (?????), they muck as he turns up top boat kek

philrocks123 is a donk and busts shoving 67cc into a 10c8c8s board and gets snap called by AdAh. Turn lets him get there with his dirty flush, but river is an Ac and hes out having lost his 200~ish buyin.

Nothing much happens till a week later when we start playing our epic .25/.50 H.O.R.S.E homegame, so fun. Its so disgusting how HE is so popular that all these other fun poker variants are over looked. I ended up getting run over in razz by SOME IDIOT WITH A J10 SHOWING calling me down when i had A5 showing, 5th and 6th street pair me up and i lol as i puke fold. of course everyone was a lil drunk and or high at this point so it was meh. omaha hi and o8 are so much funner , and playing anything with a limit betting structure is so much more refreshing. I suggest anyone who plays homegames lots to really , really step away from HE for one or 2 sessions and just play HORSE or even just omaha/holdem/pineapple DC and you'll really expand your poker knowledge / skills. Stud is a game i really want to get better at , i'm pretty bad with the odds :<

Anyways im almost always a donater in our horse homegames cause i have a bad habit of trying to bluff off my monies in limit games. Philrocks123 just calls anything because "HEY! I GOT POT ODDS, SO I MEAN 10J9K RAINBOW MUST BE GOOD IN HI LO RIGHT" "3hKd9c? 3 bet in stud? LOL I CALL! POT ODDS IN A 4 WAY POT! HUH? I HIT RUNNER RUNNER RUNNER STR8? LOL I RUN GOOD" "ILL CALL YOU DOWN WITH A Q SHOWING ON MY BOARD IN RAZZ NEDAY IN THE HOPES THAT U PAIR UP"

OH there was on epic hand w/ me vs direleif / sputgop. 20$ Sng, he limps from SB and i look down at Ks4c and i check it. blinds @ 50/100

flop comes 7h8h8c he checks and i fire 200 to steal. He thinks and raises to 600, and i flat call. Turn is a 10c or something like that. He thinks and checks. I check behind

River is a 6s, and he pots. I think and think, and say "i think K high is good here", and throw in the monies. He has this "fuckkk" look on his face as he goes, "ya got me, wait, whats your kicker" and he turns up Kh4h D: EPIC CALL RUINED

There's also another hand in our cash game where we're not playing horse where i snap call philrocks123 on a 10Q89 rainbow board with AK when he 3/4's turn and pots river. what does he say? "thats a bad call wils, i can have almost anything there" GRRR DESTROYED

i also got them hooked on greasy spoon chinese food. located in downtown edmonton, and here's its location.

[Dirty porn store] [Church] | road | [Restaurant] [Dirty bar] [Soup kitchen] [Police station]

I am not fuckign kidding. thjis place is like the SEEDIEST fucking place ive ever seen, cracked walls, hobos and crackheads and whores walking all about, gang signs plastered everywhere. AND A FUCKING PORN STORE RIGHT NEXT TO A CHURCH WTF?
Anyways, the food is delicious and cheap, and i highly recommend any edmontnians go there. Name is double greetings wonton house.
just make sure u wash ur chopsticks and shit before u eat, youll thank me later.

ANYHOO, today i fired up some 50nl FR just for funsies and made 4-5 buyins i think, ended up stacking off a buyin with AK on As 3s 3h board but thats cause K3 > AK.It was nice to post a win right after a long break :<

Also, in one month ill be getting a corgi pup.
this is what they look like
http://jimburgessdesign.com/comics/images/news_pics/passed_out_corgi.jpg
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2102/2096133637_f6696cbcbf.jpg

Good price , good breeder, bloodlines checked, wheeeeeeeee!
cons? 2 1/2 hour drive one way to get it, and same drive to come back.
have to cut hours at work to raise it at home, because i want to make sure the dog wont be a big douchebag when he grows up, and the first 2-3 months you have it are really important, so cutting my work hours from 30-37.5 to 24-28 hours is a worthy sacrifice.

That's about it for updates

Virgin diarys by PplusAD, March 03

LOL

i went for MMA train today.
When i arrived everybody was excited and said like some TV team will come and make a film and stuff.

The TV crew was VivaTV which is like MTV Germany.
A music and lifestyle tv-channel for teens.
pretty popular in germany.

And i was like : WTF they are making a doku about freefight and i will be in it ?
Awesome to the max !!!!

Beat : they were making a story for a show called "Virgin Diary" in which a 16 year old teen who is still a virgin tries to get laid >-<
They film him and make up a diary... then they choose girls and make some dates or whatever

they wanted their "Princess guy" to play a taff fighter >_<
So that 13 year old girls who watch the show can say : Wow this guy looks so good and is so sweet and at the same time he is a taff fighter
And he is a virgin -> i d dream to have my first sex with him !!!

Beat Nr.2

This guy was the ultimate anti fighter ...
He was weak .. soft and has never done any martial arts in his life ...
He didnt know how to punch or kick nor did he have any agression at all

They asked me to fight him in front of the camera ...
condition was to make him look good and stuff.

I refused
Didnt want to make an idiot out of myself by acting monkish and getting my as beaten by someone who is as dangerous as a 14 year old girl ...

You must know VivaTV is quite big in Germany and a lot of people will see this .
After i refused they asked some other fighters and all refused for the same reason.
Then they just decided to film him training without sparring doing partner exercises.

Will be in german TV in about 2-4 month

lol
