Just ended a NL200 session, this is how it went:

At that moment I felt like breaking down and crying like a little baby. But I want to be a real man, so I wouldn't let the shit, stars dropped on me affect my game.

Wanna be a real poker player? Wanna be a tough guy? Then you have to continue to give your best and sweep away that upcoming feeling of tilt.

This is how I got rewarded:

I won some other small to medium pots, and in the end, I even made some profit.

So, to all the whiners out there. Get your shit together, don't tilt, continue to give your best and you will get rewarded.

Considering the other lessons I gave:

The one with Alphablend went quite well I guess, we were talking about lots of stuff, also some private things. I always enjoy talking to native speakers in order to improve my english.

He observed me playing some NL25 Fullring and would later state that I "steamrolled the tables", which is quite a statement, considering that NL25 is full of stations that won't get bulldozed easily.

I had another lesson with rockman255 which didn't went that good because I was a little bit tired and my english was quite off.
He hasn't played poker for long and he is struggling with a downswing at the moment, but I think he has great potential because of his degree in theoretical math he has a great understanding for the numbers that come with Texas Holdem. Understanding the math is soooo important, cannot stress it enough.

So if you read this, keep giving your best, play lots of hands but not many tables. With more hands comes more experience and that will improve your postflop play, which with you have problems I guess.
Don't try to outplay the NL25 donks (please don't feel offended if you play NL25), just play ABC poker and you will be fine.
If a station gets aggressive, it has it, always remember this.

I want to post a great MMA match here.
Personally I think it's a great fight because it shows the different martial arts you can use in this sport.
On one hand you have the Olympics Gold Medalist Judoka Hidehiko Yoshida, and on the other side the Thai boxing expert and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt holder Wanderlei "the Axe murderer" Silva.

Commented by Bas Rutten and some other guy.

The yoshida/wandy fight was so "eh"

i thought that yoshida should have been yellow carded more under pride rules for stalling the fight.

but what it does show is how good a world level judoka's clinch game is if he's able to not get his ass destroyed by wandy.

yeah, AQ was quite bad, but honestly I don't feel comfortable raising it because I definitely am out of position, especially against kind of stationary guys who call anyway. And I am kind of paranoid in limped pots, got owned earlier in my poker career quite good against sets, 2 pairs whatever.

Great comeback RR, and you too Kapol.

I'm playing NL25 Fullring atm. I started playing there with $300, quickly got it up to $940, then went on a huge tilty bad beat downswing. I'm at $530 right now. Without tilt, my BR would probably be around $800. So you are right, discipline, i.e. not tilting is a crucial part to one's game.

RR, in regards to steamrolling NL25 Fullring, umm, I take it you were just playing ABC poker correct? i.e. You raise KK in early position, get one or two callers, the flop is an A high dry flop, you c-bet, get one caller and don't improve on the turn. You are now shutting down, correct?

absolutely. Your opponents have to fear the ace as well, since you are the early position aggressor, and if they continue your hand probably isn't good. Try to check it down in case they have a lower pocket pair or some other random shit and just want to peel one card from you.
This is a rule of thumb.

Sometimes you have to valuebet second pair though, especially against stations and/or drawy boards, but don't get carried away by this.
