I've been browsing political shit today and I've noticed a funny trend. When republicans comment at the end of the articles to support McCain, the posts are filled with typos, bad grammar, bad spelling, and extreme levels of cocky "WE PWN U NOOBS" gloating. Lot's of name calling and very little focus on policy.
http://blog.kir.com/archives/images/mccain.jpg I'm strong to the finish, when I eats me spinach,
I'm Popeye the sailor man! toot toot!
Let's look at an example:
YEAH MCCAIN!!!
Have you ever wonder why the symbol of the Democrats is a DONKEY- Because you all is that. MCCAIN GOT THIS… I Have never seen so many dumb people. LOL
KEEP FIGHTING YOU ALL IS HELPING OUR PARTY. LOL
WE are not even worrying about a backfire. We already know Democrats are dumb and lazy. So I hope Obama win so we can keep the Whitehouse because you all are to DUMB to go vote….lol
MCCAIN 08
P.S.
we will rule for another 4years and keep you ALL in your PLACE…lol
SORRY DONKEYS YOU WILL NOT GET THIS ELECTION
That's straight from CNN.com as a comment to a story about how McCain has flip-flopped on his Hamas position (click here to read). I was going to bold all the typos but realized I'd basically just have to bold the entire thing.
Here's another one:
cnn u make me sick u put out obama like hes fighting like a man whith his speeches against bush and hilary you just love this odnt you you make him look as good as you want and take a crap on everyone els obama is a chuuummmp he is a political puppet controll by the dnc and they still cant get things right this liberal bias is sickening and whats worse is theres nothing of value to speak of on the demecratic side but thats ok the liberals have started ruining our country a long time and now they want a well spoken puppet BOY to run our country thank you you socialist hypocrites please let me leave before you finish burning our country to the ground lit by the flags youll start the fire with
All sorts of cries about the liberal media and flag burning and destroying America and a bunch of crazy lunatic BS... this guy probably loves Bill Oral-ly and Fixed News.
So what are the rules here? If you're a violent testosterone war mongering nut-job who barely passed high school then you become a republican? Also if you're a cold hearted business asshole who doesn't give a shit about anyone else, you join the republican party? Are those the two groups that comprise it? I guess there's also the holier-than-thou lunatic evangelical Christians too. And if you're an overall kind and generous person but you're poorly educated, you support Hillary? It's fucking weird.
Ok, that's not really fair cause I have some Republican friends and they're not morons or assholes. Actually every Republican I know personally is a smart and good person. And I agree with a lot of core Republican values, like fiscal responsibility and states keeping their power and more, so despite my extreme generalization in the above paragraph I don't have anything against republicans... just the idiots who act like the comment ors above. Usually I notice the difference between Obama supporters and Hillary supporters, which generally is that the Hillary ones are a bit more ridiculous (she can still win!) and negative (Rev Wright!) and the Obama ones are usually a bit calmer, gracious and positive and hopeful for a better future. But today I saw some McCain ones and it was like "Whoa, these guys are wackos!"
The nice thing is that the Hillary supporters are slowly disappearing from the comment sections on all the news sites... where there used to be all sorts of cries of media bias and lists of reasons why Obama shouldn't be president (usually a list of stuff which had already been said a million times and proved wrong), now we're only seeing sad posts of acceptance with the occasional "you go girl, don't give up!" tossed in.
I'm excited for Tuesday. I'm gonna watch the results with wings n beer and celebrate when Obama finally gets the majority of pledged delegates. Time for the general election... which should be fun. I guess we can thank Hillary for already beating Obama's negatives to death so that when the Repubs try lots of people will be able to brush it off cause it's old news that is obvious BS.
As far as poker goes, the restart has gone pretty well. Was running like god so I jumped back up to NL100 for a bit and then ran like normal. Still up for the last 2 days though and planning to play a bit more today. I'm really focusing on shorter sessions and spending a good amount of time before I play working on getting my head straight so that I'm totally focused on playing perfect poker and avoiding tilt, spew and mistakes.
No plans for the weekend right now - might make it a bit of a video game / poker weekend if the GF will let me, hehe. Maybe if I take her to a salsa lesson on Sunday she'll be ok with me spending the rest of the weekend being a computer nerd. I guess it will be ok though cause she's getting lasik on Saturday so that means no going out tonight and probably not tomorrow either.
Ok, off to exercise. Need to get back into shapeeeee
Today i played a short session 50NL, like 500 hands and ended up 2 buyins. At one of my tables there was a french guy who really made my day. I didnt win that much off him, still was funny to see him play.
A lot of players hate donks like this one when they loose a big pot against them. But obviously its great to have them around. He played like 88/0/1, called down very very light and made some really weird plays.
Some examples to illustrate, enjoy!

So i was isolating him all the time in position, but i didnt get hugh hands and he left after 100 hands or so.
And could anyone tell me how to use a spoiler? Because the hands make it a long one this way. Thx
Okay so I came home from uni after doing a test which by the way I all nightered for while and took a nap at 7am and woke up at 9am to get some last minute extra vision in.... anyway I'm kind of dazed with tiredness and I get this pm from lachlan a poster here on lp:
Okay it took me a while to get what was going on but basically 'collegesucks' posted a hand which while I personally thought was standard whilst 'ShawnK' gave it a bigger reaction than I thought it warranted so I just replied saying it was completely standard meh?
Somehow he totally missed my point and thinks I'm accusing him of being a scammer and decides to insult me with:
"wtf, everyone thinks they're being scammed on here, you geek, kantoiki. Hey mate why don't you figure out why you always think you're being ripped off, it's because you're a tool and probably got beat up in grade school, MATE, lol, you're a geek."
Kinda funny, I laughed anyway The idea that someone was retarded enough to first completely miss the point, sensitive enough to react ...
Anyway I have a roast in the oven which I'm cooking for dinner which HOPEFULLY will be good, it's lamb roast with honey and mustard and garlic so at least it sounds kind of tasty
Oh and poker wise I plan to try to put in about 10k hands this weekend now that I have some free time, shouldn't be too hard so we'll see how it goes.
My friend got me interested in playing "serious poker" one fine Sunday afternoon after church service. What interested me the most was that he said the strategic elements of poker were akin to high-level video gaming.
The words of a gambling addict or a wise sage? I soon found out.
Remember the scene in the Matrix where Neo takes the red pill and life as he knows it changes? It was like that, except i'm not Keanu Reeves and my life didn't change, my view on poker did. I'm terrible of course but I hope to rise above the mediocre. I did enjoy poker casually but it was to gamble, and not to win. Being a huge supporter of the "play to win" mindset, I realized I needed to change my ways and dominate this game.
My meagre buy in of 20 dollars has transformed into 70 within two weeks, with micro SnG's and grinding augmenting my BR. Learning the terms, honing my game and reading countless e-books are a grueling chore but I see the light far, far ahead.
I cannot wait to patch my numerous leaks and move ahead to the next level!
These 180s are yummy ! It takes long to farm 10 of them so i might buy an other 22' and 8-table them. It's very interesting to realize i made some progress poker wise, my tilt resistance improved a ton and my tourney game is getting sharper and sharper.
I finish a lot itm, but yet to score big even if i FTed the 15k today for a 5th place. I played some hu but i can tilt real fast and the variance is sick, but i like it so far. For now i need to focus on these 180s since they're my bread and butter and grind a big amount to see where my roi is standing and if i should keep playing them and how many tables i can add before i get a significant results drop.
So my goal is to farm 1000 of them with the occasional donkaments here and there.
So I have been thinking about it for a long time now and I finally pulled the trigger. I went out and through out $13k on a seadoo. I don't really know how to feel. My parents tell me I'm a freakin idiot, but idk I have like 100k just sitting in the bank and I actually wanna do something I enjoy with a little bit of it so I got one.
I got an RXT 215 hp, hopefully it goes at least 65 mph. Plus, seadoos are a great way to get big tittied chicks to hang out with you in nothing but two pieces... and they also have to hang onto you.
so i started today on a sick heater of half good cards and half idiots donking off their chips to me without hands, and then.. to quote TRAINSPOTTING... the good times couldnt last forever..

I've taken 4 days off from poker, spent 2 of those reformatting my comp which gave me time without internet (nice to have the vacation) and got some perspective. I've played nearly every day since April 1st and I've been on a mission to get up to NL200. It was going well till I hit a bit of a downswing last week and to deal with it I tried mass multi-tabling, which just made things worse. What I should have done was take the 4 day break right away and saved some money.
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1109/1483500550_469a9b86d3.jpg?v=0 I copy/pasted the title of my blog into google image and this was the first pic to pop up.
I liked it so now it's here
The biggest problem is that I lost focus on playing perfect poker and instead focused on making money. I decided that I wanted to pull out 1.5k in May and then anything over that would be BR building for NL200. I hit 3k and figured everytime I hit 3.5k (or got close) that I would pull out money to drop me back to 3k. I figured a 30 BI BR was good enough. But the problem was with this new strategy I was so focused on making money that any money lost threw me into all sorts of tilt. It wasn't obvious monkey tilt, but my game got slightly worse and worse each time it happened until I was suddenly in monkey tilt without realizing it.
I play best when I don't pay any attention to how much I've won or lost and don't care about the money. Then I just have fun playing poker and aim to make make the right choice every time a decision comes up. I think that's the key to good poker but it's so easy to lose it, especially when you get confident and feel you don't have to pay as much attention since you pwn these fish.
I'm a bit nervous cause I left poker on a losing note and my gut has the association that playing poker is painful cause I just lose money. But I gotta kick that feeling to the side and remember the joy of the game and the fact that I normally win money so that's an extra feeling of pleasure I will get if I get back into the grind-train.
I'm currently playing a very tight style and low variance style. Originally I wanted to play about a 14/10 style, but I guess having a VPIP of 11 just turned out after 9k hands.
I'm trying to get maximum value on every hand I play. Obviously at the beginning at the session my focus was good, I was happy with my play. Eventually my focus started to deteriorate and I started making so fancy plays which cost me some $$.
Luckily I ran well and made a ton yesterday, but I'm going to keep things in perspective and just continue to play good solid poker. Too many time after winning a bunch I've gotten over-confident...next thing you know boom, you start breaking even you think something is wrong..then you start losing.. - happens way too often.
Goals for the month:
- start working out to work on my mind set
- read The Poker Mind Set
- read PLO - Jeff Hwang's book
- try to average about 4bb/100 until the end of May.
Anyway I'm going to start posting here from now on to keep my head straight.
Ive played 27k hands at 10nl now and i have to say its ten times harder than 2 or 5nl. I need to stop playing so long and start reading more, ive been putting in like 10 hours avg/day instead of reading which i should be doing as a beginner. Anyway, even though i'm losing im definitely learning a lot and im playing a lot better than when I started at 10nl. Ive started using position a lot more to my advantage and stealing blinds, but i still need to loosen up in some positions and tighten up in others. Also ill be getting my computer soon so ill get off this laptop/touchpad and will be able to play more than 4 tables.

Hm , i ve recently thought about implementing a stopp-loss mark into my poker arsenal
After calming down from recent happenings i sat down today and forced myself to play a pretty standart ABC tag style.
Yeha I had a winning session ....
played only 560 hands ended up + 57$ which is ~ 10bb/100
After the last 2 days on which i lost 604 $ >-<
i reviewed what happend in the past month.
2 things become very obvious
1.) everytime i am on the edge of going up limits i get a "sick" downswing.
This has been the case from Nl25-> NL50 4 times >_<
and now it just happend right before i reached NL100
well the most reasonable explanation i came up for this is that i get overagressive due to excitement that i only need 2-3 more buy ins to move up to the next limit.
When i realize that i am superior to the other players of my limit and that i am just about to move up i try too hard to totaly destroy and outplay them in almost every pot >-<
Its not that i do particulary bad stuff .. but mostly that i choose the 2nd best but more agressive option above the best ( standart weaker) option
2.) I have always a lot more winning days than losing days ... but my losing days always are way bigger than my winning days...
This has always been the case since i started poker. I win at like 85% of my sessions .. but when i lose i lose a lot .
Lets take may for example :
i played 11 sessions in may so far.
9 winning sessions and 2 losing sessions
my winning days are mostly 50-130 $ on NL50 in like 1-1,5K hands
my losing sessions are mostly 200-450$ on NL50 in 2-3,5 K hands ...
i rarely have losing sessions .. but when i have them i get totally destroyed for like -30Bb/100
Seems that when i run bad -> everything comes together ... My draws never hit , villian draws always hit ... my Overpairs run into sets or higher overpairs on undercard flops. my 2nd nutz always loses vs absolute nutz + i tilt some
From a logical point it may not make much sense to go for a stopp-loss
but i think i will give it a try.
I think i ll make it at ~2 1/2 buy ins 130$ for Nl50
if i hit that mark i wont play any poker for the day
