| | borderline lifetilt by shaneomac, June 03
i woke up this morning ready to play and grind back some of the losses ive had over the past few days, only to find i play 230 hands and lose 2+ buyins. i am borderline on life tilt and i had to shut ALL of my tables the second after the last hand i played where i lose almost a buyin so stupidly i shouldve just fucking folded.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458790 - can i fold this?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458788 - stnd ss flip
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458786 - shouldve folded, probly somewhat of a culmination of everything thats happened over this bad run, but not reflective of how ive been running except in th fact that someone always has me one upped, but i shouldve folded nonetheless.
i literally had to shut down ALL my tables the second that last hand happened to stop myself from just going on a tilt rampage and chasing losses, which i guess in itself is a good thing that i have the self discipline to do that.
FUCK
edit: not FUCK, because something i just realized about this downswing is it is teaching me maturity and self control. i was just talking to someone who i sometimes get irritated with even though its probly something i should let blow off my shoulders, and given how i feel and am effected by the loss i couldve just gone off, but i didnt, and for me thats certainly a step in the right direction as a person. i am really level headed, but i have a v bad temper when pushed too far, but i have cooled off a lot in the last 2-3 years, and this bad run leading to me kinda taking things in stride letting that irritation @ this time despite the downswing and dealing with it so to speak is showing me some things.
p.s. does anyone know how to put a custom picture as the background in pokerstars tables?

| | Vegas by Jamie217, June 03
Just got to Vegas yesterday flying in with dzoo and circa. Went to the Wynn which is where they are staying to chill for a bit and met Jonnycosmo and Myth, such heros obv. Cosmo tells us how he has just won a 9k pot at 5/10 uncapped live. The precedes to tell us he is still stuck -_-...
Anyways after that I went to the house Im staying in with Adam001, Kingsofcards, Altrum Altus, Nutsinho and some others. Its about 15 minutes from the Strip so not too bad. House is a pretty solid size with a ballin pool etc. I need to buy a camera so hopefully get some pics when that happens. Gonna try and grind a ton this month.
Last month was ok, started out pretty huge then kinda fizzled. Ended up about 9/10kish in 30k hands. Hopefully knock out like 60/70k hands this month for 20/25k.
Vegas is pretty sweet as its my first time out here so should be a sick good time.

| | Hello everybody! by Meccano, June 03
Hi,
I am Meccano and I start my career as a poker player. I played StarCraft before but I decided to quit it and play poker. I have registered with your site to 75$ TitanPoker promotion. As soon as I get the money I'm gonna grind NL2 stakes having 25 buy ins on this limit. I switch limit when I am up 25 buy ins or -5 buy ins. I am goin' to play some tournaments with guaranteed prize pool and thats it for now.
See ya soon.

| | NL5 questions yo by Reload, June 03
ok first of all i see the term "squeezing" alot, what does this mean?
these are for 6-max NL5:
1 - how often should i bet 3 betting JJ? if i am 4-betted, i know it's mostly player dependant but am i mucking a majority of the time?
2 - what are optimal stats? i'm 19/12 right now, should i loosen up?
3 - hands like a6s, JTs, JKs UTG...fold or raise?
4 - is it bad to always limp and never raise with 22 in any position EXCEPT the button?

| | Grind / PT3 problems by NeillyJQ, June 03
Now that I've built a nice little roll for myself from $350 to $2500 I moved to NL100.
First off, I bought PT3 from the LP store today and I haven't been able to get on the Postsgl server or w/e it is...its driving me nuts, I don't know what im doing wrong, it says i need to delete the file so i do, and then it says it can't run without it..
I'm going to continue troubleshooting for the next hour or so. Ok on to my session;
I had a great night 16 tabling NL100 for 9 buy-ins in 2000 hands.
I'm going to be keeping my sessions to 2000 hands or two hours, depending on what I'm doing.
I plan and hope to continue grinding NL100, now that i'm adequately rolled it'd be silly for me to take anymore shots at higher limits until i have 6-7k (NL200).
Its time for me to stop messing around with this game and to take it serious, hopefully I do well this time around. To be honest, I'll never stop til I make it to the top, I'll just grind my ass off and build my roll back up, and be a reg on 2/4 within a few months hopefully.
Accidently closed stars so i couldnt post my stats, but I ran at 12% hands played, 60% hands won (60/100) or something close to that, and 270 hands won w/out showdown.
Alright, I'm going to mess with PT3 for a little while longer, then I'm off to bed.
Not a bad run I've been on the last few days, lets hope I continue to play well and run well.
GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)
PS - when i get pt3 figured out i will be posting graphs

| | girls life tilt me by royalsu, June 03
Yesterday I told her I was making her dinner and bringing it over after she finishes work. Everything's cool and at 6pm she texts me that she'll call me soon. I wait and wait and at 10:30 she calls me and tells me she doesn't want me to come over. Ok...and then she says some bs about not asking me to make dinner. I pretend everything's cool but was pretty pissed off about it.
Anways, I wake up at 3:30am and it's still dark outside. I decide to take out my aggression on the party nighttime donks. There's only like 12 tables open and I fire up 7 tables with 2 tags and 3 shortstackers on each table. I proceed to run like God against the shortstacker Patish as my AA holds against his KK (his preflop raise is 6%!).
It was a pretty variance free session, apart from two ill-timed bluffs that cost me 600$...i.e. floating on a dry board after getting checkraised and minraise bluffing the turn...and then folding to a shove for my last 90$.
So I made 1.4k in 2.5k hands, which is a good cure for life tilt. I don't know if this is true or not, but when I'm upset about something in life I think I play better poker due to being more aggressive. I just want to win pots more and splash some bluffs in that I normally wouldn't make.
It's 7am and I have no clue what to do: sleep, dota, poker; are all being considered.

| | 100NL Shit Session by purrryadog, June 03
Today I had a good day. Went out for lunch, caught up with an old friend and relaxed.
Was feeling good then played some poker.
Started off slow as usual. And i noticed one player was playing tilty and more aggressive than normal. I looked him up and sat on 4 of his tables.
Here are a few hands.
In this one the guy i was targeting sucks a 3 outer on the river. Pretty god damn sick. I was ok with it and got on with the game.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458496
Here I have KQ, I really felt confident i was ahead here, and on the turn i felt even more comfortable.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458498
In this hand, i get stacked by a set. I had just stacked this guy all in PF my JJ vs AQ which is very loose, but i lost a standard hand before that when the guy i was targeting made a gutshot which have me 2 pr.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458499
Here i get out flushed. I had a gutsa straight flush draw. I get it in and what do you know, he has nuts
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458504
Here i have 59o/suit and 3x bet looking for the btn to fold. I am on tilt from the above out flushing experience.... Anyways I hit 2 pair with it, and end up stacking QQ. Me and a good friend of mine call this hand Royce, after rapper royce the 59.
Thanks, royce,
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458506
Anyway i think the internet just got capped and I was getting so frustrated at the delay of playing on FTP so that was pissing me off a lot. I made a full house and raised on the river and lost connection. I think he called because my stack increased which is cool. But it really frustrated me.
I didn't finish 1000 hands session, played about 960 and LOST $176. Not happy.
Very annoyed at the moment. Going to have a break and hopefully get back to playing well again, later tonight or whatever,
Going out for dinner, gl.

| | Prop day 2 recap by BJLTNYK, June 03
Still not planning on doing daily updates but at least for now I will. Had a pretty gross $400ish downswing during my night session tonight but kept focused and battled back. The fact that I was able to not let the horrendous swing bother me gives me a ton of confidence and should tell nutshot he's fucked! Had KK v. AA, AA lose to KK among other standard crap during that span but it was still frustrating. Very glad to still be ahead of pace and playing pretty well for the most part.
Day 2:
Hands: 6,843
Won/loss: +$532

Not the result I wanted this time. Ran QQJx double-suited into AAxx PF caught the set but he made the flush. Probably could have done better. Still looking for an Omaha tournament staker.

| | Today I'll start cashgames by Luckb0xx, June 02
Yup, after playing mostly only SnGs in the low limits on Betfair, Full Tilt and osmetimes on Stars, I decided to go for cashgames finally
Read enough about it, the anthology and "Professional No-Limit Hold'em" by Matt Flynn, Sunny Mehta & Ed Miller
Bankroll is safe enough for nl25 and soon for nl50 I hope, might just try some shots over there already!
Ill post my session results here from day to day, depends on whether I got more or less free time
Feel free to view my blog rom time to time,
cya at the tables
ah yea and I read 20 BI is enough for each limit to have a safe backup br? I thought I'd go for 25 BI, that shoul dbe enough for the lower limits up to nl100/200 at least ;P as for nl400+ 30-40 BI should do :o if anyone thinks thats way too safe and i could go for some more agressive brm, let me know

| | help w some hands by shaneomac, June 02
im still running bad, and im approaching a -10BI swing, which im told is roughly the most one should experience for FR if theyre playing well and just running bad. i dont rly care im running bad too much, other than losing sucks. i realized a few things i can work on adding into my game today, which i do not believe i wouldve seen had i not been running bad. here are my stats and an accompanying graph since i began NL200 again:
http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/6614/statsug9.jpg
http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/977/screenshot62471cc6.png
the graphs dont really show it, but ever since i moved up, i have been getting coolered left and right. fortunately for me ive also been able to win enough to sustain the amount ive been getting coolered, and manage to only be down a total of ~1k.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458152 - stnd
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458153 - i shouldve raised preflop, but i flop bottom set and decide to get it in because i think his range is wider than hands that beat me and hes also short.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458154 - this is probly bad
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458156 - stnd
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458159 - i figured his range was pretty wide here for flatting the flop because he knows im cbetting this board with anything, so i figured id 2 barrel to try and put him off his pair thats not AA, but then i cannot rly do anything on that river since i no longer beat anything and he probly calls...any better way to play these spots?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/458161 - same situation essentially as before
below are some hands from yesterday i didnt put in my blog:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457677 - obv
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457681
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457684 - i think his range is wider than flushes, and i think he could show up a lot w draws here, but i probly played it a little fast given his actions
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457685 - i think my hand was very underrepped on river so i raised...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457686 - was a stupid call by me, and i probly shouldnt have 3b in the first place, once i 3b i figured i should probly be calling
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457687 - stnd, wouldve folded to a raise
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457688 - seems about right
fortunately im not too discouraged and im probly going to grind a few more thousand hands tonite and tomrorow and continue the grind for the week. and i dont have to move down yet thankfully. any help or advice on those hands is greatly appreciated
