May was a mediocre month. I was mostly playing NL200_Fullring, had a rather rough start with many bad beats, but at the end of the month I was able to win a decent amount.
I also played some NL200_6max, NL100_Fullring and NL100_6max on which I lost about $550 combined.
So all in all I made about $1000 which is fine but could be more.
June started off very sweet. I am already up over $1100 at the moment, all played on NL200_FR, along with some hands on NL100_FR on a friend's computer without PokerOffice, so there are no stats.
I really feel that I improved my game a lot in the last two months and I think that Fullring is definitely my game. 6max tilts the shit out of me.
Bankroll is at a healthy 8.5k USD now, plus 30k FPP. Yesterday I ordered a black i-pod classic from the VIP store.
In real life I did another MMA session with PplusAD. He prefers the stand-up fight, opposed to me, I rather fight on the ground. He claims it is because I am too soft and cannot stand the pain that comes with kicking each other shins. Yeah, he might be right, I have to harden them.
Well, we tried to find a compromise so we we were training takedowns from stand-up fight to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu style, so PplusAD demonstrated to me how to do a takedown:
Beside training MMA I do a lot of other sports, especially playing beach volleyball, running and swimming, which is all lots of fun to me.
We have a shitload of exams this summer, but there is a gap of 6 weeks between the economic stuff and the technical stuff, I thought I would be traveling to South-East-Asia that time for 4 weeks, alone.
But at the weekend I visited a friend of mine from my old university and we decided that we want to go together in October, after my last exam and the new semester, but I will skip the first week which isn't that important.
This is really sweet. I consider that friend the best I ever had and traveling with him to Asia is the best thing that could have happened.
Here is some trance track. I am not into trance at all, but this is quite cool and long, I remember hearing it back in school days a lot with some friends who were hardcore technofans.
So my goal is to play low buy in sng's to build a roll and MTT's as well trying to get a big score. So far the MTT's haven't come through. I made 3 final tables, but nothing higher then a 5th place finish. This last week I managed to play 225 $5.50 and $11 sng's for a solid $215 profit and a ROI of 12%. The downside I ran really really well a day or two at the $5.50's cashing in 75%, but I've ran horrendously at the $11 overall I'm down $6 at them so far. Probably some bad ICM in there forsure, anyway I did manage to get silverstar in the last week of the month so I can cut back on mass playing if I want and continue to play casually as initially planned. I have almost 5400fpp's now an I am wondering if it's worth playing the 10man sunday satelite where 4 seats are award. Basically I can take a 40% shot at winning $215 for 5400 fpp's or use 5000 fpp's for the $50 silver star vip reward. I'm curious how soft are these satelites, going strictly by the number the satelite seem like the obvious choice but I have no idea what the fields are like in them.
Now to the rea life stuff. No word on the job yet, but I do plan on calling them this week, I also looked up some apartments online and assuming the neighborhood is good and the place is as nice as it looked in the pictures I think I found my place. If not my brother lives in town so I can just crash his place til I find something nice. Good luck at the tables, LP FTW at the WSOP this year. I'll probably update again next week with hopefully a much higher win rate at the $11 sng's and a big tourney score.
overall i am super happy.
+ 121.60$ ( with rakeback)
However i still start all my sessions down 1-2 buy ins.
I dont know why but this always happens
but i got used to it over the months
In this session
there were some sick coolers i lost and also some sick coolers where i was the winner.
I had Flush > otherflush for the first time in maybe 3-4 month ... LOl ship was i happy
I had around 25 Flush < other flush the last months haha ....
BR now 1,914 $
I d be super happy if i reached NL100 within June ( i ll give it a shot at 2,5K)

i just got back from LA last night so expect some more whiny posts from me later, still looking for someone to help me transfer 80 from FTP to stars, please msg back asap
I just played a short 300 hand session 4 tabling 400nl and just realized what a waste yesterday was. Yesterday I played 12 hours of robotic poker, and I definitely wasn't thinking hard enough about the game in each hand.
Today I was fresh and focused. I was able to analyze each hand thoroughly before I made any decisions. For example, I raise AQo and get called. The flop is a monotone TJ4 and I don't have the right suit. Before I even bet, my brain goes: "what hands can he raise me here with? hmm, he would need a big diamond in his hand but it's unlikely he has AK AQ KQ type hands since he flatted a raise. He'll definitely raise TJ and a set. What hands would he call with? Maybe QJs T8s but it'll be hard for him to continue without a flush redraw. Ok so if he calls I'm going to fire 3 barrels. And if he raises he'll either have a small flush or air so I'll definitely 4b bluff this flop."
I think the reason I leaked so many chips yesterday was because I'd bet the flop, get called, then have no idea what to do because I didn't think about his range beforehand.
I sometimes forget how much fun it is to be thinking about this game instead of "grinding".
Anyways...solid 1k day. Time for some Pho and fresh oranges from chinatown.
So after my slow run at nl2, nl5 is being a bit different to me, I started it 3 days ago and played awfully dropping a couple of BIs. I think I tried to change my play without knowing it, but i fixed it up and now its going good at this rate if i run good tonight ill reach $200 ready for 10nl. I was supposed to send $100 back to my staker when I reached $200 but hes been nice enough to let me have a shot at nl10 - if i i drop to $180 then ill ship him back $100, but if i run good and reach $350 ill send him back $150 allowing me to stay at nl10 without dropping down, but i think i will have a hard time at nl10 so it will be difficult.
Haven't posted a blog before on this site. Granted it's pretty self-explanatory, but most things are - and it's never stopped me from fucking up in the past.
It's been a year or so since I last played BW. I'd intended to quit beforehand because I developed a ridiculously severe case of CTS (the nerve condition, not good poker play), and I didn't want to travel to the poorly organized WCG regionals. I was offered a last-minute opportunity to qualify online, but without any time to practice and with the CTS leveling my apm at like 180, down from 300, not to mention idra, artosis, skew, nyoken in my bracket, I just went out and got hammered the night before. I woke up late for the qualifier, got hammered by nyoken, hammered artosis, and was ultimately hammered a final time in the crucial match with idra. Anyway, I'm sMi.failsafe from starcraft.
I'm leaving for China tomorrow at 3 a.m. CST to study economics, the culture, and Mandarin Chinese. My flight leaves from ATL to LA or some Cali city, then from there to Ghuangzhou. From Ghuangzhou to Kunming. Hoping my million to one against crashing holds one time. I've been adjusting my sleep schedule hardcore, partially because, with the end of the semester, I finally can, and partially to mitigate jetlag. Quite tired as of now as a consequence of a lot of pool and drinking last night at my parents' house with my friends from high school, and from being awake a long time at a stretch.
So I'm testing this blog, and I've got a camera for the trip. I'll test it now as well so that I have a before and after China picture comparison. I plan to relentlessly grow my hair and beard while in China as I have no desire to pack a razor or shaver.
These pictures confirm my suspicions that my parents' cocaine addictions played hell with my genetics. Granted, I'm adopted, so it's all speculation, but the massive assymetry is pretty damning.
Once I return from China, I've got a surgery scheduled to repair my wrist. If all goes well I'll be able to play poker and starcraft again in about four months. Staritng to feel nauseated from lack of sleep and food, and I've gotta move fairly heavy stuff today, so good morning, and good night.
I just had dinner and played some guitar hero and came back for another 500 hands.
The games were really juicy and i was hitting flops which was really nice. I think the games are juicy because it is lunch time in Europe? Who knows, wierd for a Monday.
Anyways, in the previous session i made $168 in 1500 hands.
This session i made $333 in 500 hands which is obviously running sick.
Two key hands that i feel are showing my development as a player.
Here I stack AA when i flop a set of 999. I really had no doubt i was good here. But I ruled out QQ as WimmerPuh flat called the raise PF, then he shows AA. Anyways 99 holds and i get a good pot. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457843
Thats enough for tonight. I didn't end up going to the home game. I am pretty bored and have watched all the DVDs i have...
Considering this is my first night off of work. It feels like i have just worked playing poker... Ah well it is way more entertaining and fun.
Ok today I had my second session. I wasn't a great session.
I finished ok after 1500 hands at +$168. Not really ideal, but it was ok considering i was down -$232 at one stage, so it is a good swing around.
I found that in the first part of the session i had played 967 hands and was down $131.
I then came back for the final 500 hands and obviously finished +$168 as i said, so thats a good final leg.
I think I played 'average'. Some good plays, but some obvious mistakes as i did in the previous session i posted about earlier.
Early on i was missing all my flops with AK, and cont bets weren't working. I think I lost about $60 in the first 100 hands by this happening. I then got 99 on the button and was 3x bet with the BB, i 4x bet my 99 and he shoved. I had seen him shove with AK before and thought he had AK, and i was right, but lost the flip. King on flop. SO i was down $160 just from a shitty start...
Here are some other hands:
Here i turn King high flush against one of the most solid 100nl players for May on FTP, maybe a check would have been better? http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457770
Here I overplay AJ, i thought by the size of his pot bet i might have him beat, but he showed queens - nh http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457773
This blind raise is ok, considering i wasnt 3 bet, i think i played it pretty good. I dont mind getting it in here at all, but his hand held up http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457778
This was the worst moment of the session. I am oop and open, then i call a 3x bet with a marginal hand OOP. Then i get a marginal flop. My gut says, pot control OR fold. But my figers click away and i call. It is so bad, this really made me angry, I didn't tilt but i was just hugely annoyed with myself. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/457785
Here i get lucky calling a 3x bet and flopping nuts. This was a nice way to finish session.
I dont feel too great. It took me 4 hrs to get 1500 hands in, 4 and 5 tabling. I havent done anything besides poker today and it is nearly 7pm. Some local guys are having a home game but i dont know if i can be bothered going even tho the value is good.
I might play some guitar hero and do some weights.
Someone is helping me set tracker up for the mac which is cool..
My goal for the month is to be one of the biggest winners on 100nl on FTP. I'm up 4 buyins so its a good start so far... But gotta play better and keep at it. I though today id do better :S shrug.
2500 hands, +400. I don't know if i can keep playing such structured sessions without tracker, it is draining.
So recently i've been taking my shots at 50NL both 6M and FR. So far the results having been going my way at all. Im pretty much at the point where i have to drop down and grind my way back at 25NL but as most of you know, its just too hard to move back down. Yesterday i was playing pretty badly and dropped a few buyins, mainly because i wasn't use to the amount of money on the tables, but today i felt like i played pretty well. I watched a few cardrunners video to get me into the poker mood and then started to multi FR. Bad beats left and right left me down a few BIs after a 2 hour session so i called it quits. I really dont know if i should be moving down right now. Im confident that i can beat 50NL but the chart says to move back down. Any suggestions???
Feel like I played pretty well overall. I need to average $333.33 a day to complete the challenge so getting off to a good start definetly pleases me. I don't think I misplayed too many hands but I could probably focus a bit more in 3 bet pots. This was the most hands I've ever played in a day and I did it only 12 tabling tonight. I'll probably shift to 16 tabling after a few sessions. I probably wont include daily updates but just thought I'd post the initial results.
I've decided to make 400nl my game from now on. I made 3k yesterday in 5k hands and 0$ today in a grueling 12 hour session (9k hands).
It's definitely not easy emotionally as I've been constantly +-1k today in both directions so many times. You can lose so quick at 400nl; two flips, one ill-timed bluff, a couple of cbets that don't work, and you're down 1-2k already.
I've made some good reads but I'm leaking a ton of money in medium sized pots. I think I need to double barrel and checkraise more on the turn. I'm basically giving up way too easily in spots where the opposition just doesn't have much. I'm also not value betting thin enough on the river, preferring oftentimes to check just to see what he was calling me down with.
Tomorrow I plan vegas with my friend. Hopefully she breaks up with her bf before the trip.
There has been a lot of sick action at omaha pot limit recently. Something I don't understand is a lot of the guys playing are really good yet stupid shit like this happens:
