As most of u knew i cashed out a lot last month and i am playing NL50 again now.
My goal is to finally manage to get myself together and put in a decent amount of hands ...
July i had only put in 14K hands >-< and made 940$ profit ....
Now my goal for august is to seriously grind out the shit of Nl50 and build my roll back to Nl100
I am still running like shit overall since middle of July
but i still make some profits which is nice
Was able to 6 table so it took just under 3 hours, might up the amount of hands I play per day or just do it like this then play some HU later in the day.
Hands! - comments appreciated.
I felt a c/r here could get him to call some hands like sets (and hopefully fold them on blanks), flushdraws etc (although I dont really want fds to call ) while folding out 2 pair, overpairs, or other hands that are ahead of me. I dunno what I think about calling, my flush outs are a) going to be very obvious b) might not be good, although I do have a gutshot.. And I could bluff at paired boards I suppose. + Show Spoiler +

Ok flop to raise fold?
I think this is ok, was a bit hesitant about betting turn. Would *really* suck to get bluff c/red by like the Kc here tho On the other hand, charging a set might be a good enough reason to bet.. But I'm probably only getting one street from a straight (if that, and most likely on the river) AND a set might call me on the river if I check back turn. + Show Spoiler +

aww
I was considering if I could call turn and bluff spades if they came in (assuming I didn't boat), but I wasn't sure it'd be believable for me to call two pot bets with just a flushdraw. On the other hand, I'm an unknown so maybe I'd get credit for that. + Show Spoiler +

This fold feels verrrrry dirty because he's really only repping two hands - KK** with an ace high diamond flushdraw (or possibly Ad blocker) or AA** with diamonds. Of course on flop and turn he can have just the ace high draw but when he pots a board pairing card I don't think he has just a flush (esp. since my line could EASILY be a set). I don't know if he'd naked ace bluff (he's 20/3.5/1.5 over 1k hands) and I don't know if on the river he'd realize it's not really a great spot to continue bluffing with it since he'd be repping a different hand from what he had earlier etc.. Bleh. I don't like folding here but it seems correct vs someone so tight.. + Show Spoiler +

He's very nitty.. With his line tho, on the river he's repping like precisely one hand .. AA** with diamonds, maybe KK** with nut diamonds .
Meh, it feels dirty folding when someone is only repping one hand tho. But he is 20/3.5/1.5 ..
I think because I'll dominate some of his draws, that this can't be too bad. + Show Spoiler +

Am I betting too thin here? Perhaps I'm better off not charging a set here (if he has one) and just checking, which might get me one more street vs a set anyway, and allows me to pick off some bluffs + strengthens my check. Reason I'm asking is I seemed to be getting raised on the turn a whole lot when I was betting marginal hands. That being said, there IS a flushdraw out there..~ Maybe I should even be willing to call down, a turn minraise just seems so much like the nuts tho. + Show Spoiler +

Villain is realllly fishy, I felt compelled to call river after checking turn (which I'm not sure I should be doing, but then , I didn't think I'd get called by a ton). I'm unsure what my equity here is vs the nuts (a straight), but the fact that my flushdraw isn't to the nuts might be an argument against raising flop (edit: pokerstoving vs the nuts I'm only 40% so ye, I'm not sure how awesome getting it in here would be really :D). I guess I can get it in vs set+fd or 2 pair+fd type hands which I *think* I have in pretty bad shape. + Show Spoiler +

Oh come on Last hand I was going to play!
Feels good to at least be putting a reasonable number of hands in each day
Whatever I do I cant win. I get my money in the best with it i lose. I grind for hours at short stakes I lose. I play huge fish who call with A8 high in omaha hi lo, with no LO and I cant beat them. I cant win.
DON'T EVER FUCKING PLAY AT THE SAME TABLE ONLINE AS SOMEONE YOU FUCKING KNOW B/C THEY'LL JUST FUCK EVERYTHING UP FOR YOU.
I'M MAKING A BLUFF AND THIS FAGGOT BITCH I KNOW IS SITTING THERE TELLING THE MOTHER FUCKER TO CALL AND THE GUY I'M HEADS UP IS SITTING THERE SAYING "HE'S GOT A BOAT, I'M BEAT" THEN FUCK TARD SAYS "NO CALL HIM HE AIN'T GOT SHIT" AND GUESS WHAT THE FUCK I DIDN'T HAVE A FUCKING BOAT I GOT FUCKING BEAT
JESUS FUCK.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOST A FUCKING BUY IN B/C OF HIS FAT ASS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm back, hopefully permanently. After more then half a year of having a break I want to get back in it. My roll is still around $3.8k so starting off at NL50 FR and working my way up to $5k before moving to NL100 is my plan. However, for the first day, I would like some coaching. Anyone that's interested in coaching me is welcome to msg me with the prices they ask per hr and the stakes they normally play. I remember LiquidPoker used to have a coaching system, but I don't see it anymore so I decided to just ask it this way.
To all the others, I'm happy to see a lot of old faces and wish you all gl at the tables!
July i couldnt play much cos i was working full time, but i won 9 buyins in a weekend when i did play, so i still managed to keep pace, ended up +2.6k so pretty happy, mostly cos it meant i was rolled for 2/4.
so definitely running good too so expect a suicidal whine post soon when my run-good bubble bursts =P but if i do go on a marshall downswing i'm prepared for it.
my shot at NL400 has gone good so far, running alright and i like the more aggressive atmosphere compared to nl200 games. its good for a station like me.

the best poker player ever is PokeMyFace85... whoever you are, u are ungodly at this game.
next stop is at $13,800 when i am rolled for NL600, but that should be a smooth transition since theres not enough tables to just play 3/6
less ranting, more Gogogoby GameOverNoob, August 02
I swear that beneath all the stress I've brought upon myself from playing poker I do love it with a passion. It's simply why i continue to live this lifestyle, although there are many times I can't cope. If i'm running bad online, i can only deal with it for a time period before i start tilting and then playing badly and running badly. During this time i just about always bring my table attitude into my real life and then I don't feel like doing anything. I'm assuming this is something everyone deals with, not only in the poker community but everywhere only I happen to throw away thousands when it happens. At my level, winning and losing thousands / week is normal, and I've become very comfortable with it although im crossing my fingers I'll be a more level headed when school starts. I don't think (unless traveling the globe playing everywhere) that my current twelve hours sleep, 6hours poker, 6hours of nothing is very good for me. Mentally and of course physically too. That being said, I'm a happy camper 80% of the time doing what I do. July was a so-so month, profiting roughly 3k which could have been 5k+ if it were not for my drunken stupidities.
I'm going to work on keeping my cool in August, getting out a bit more and getting ready for my first time back in school since I graduated high school.
This post is less of a rant and more of self inspiration cause what it all comes down to is loving what you do.
Hope August brings alot of monies for everyone, and i'll be sure to post again soon.
Matt
EDIT*
PLAYED 2 1HR 4TABLE HU SESSIONS (ONE BEFORE AND ONE AFTER) WRITING THIS AND MADE 20BUYINS
Hi all just wanted to introduce myself... long time lurker and new poster. I've learned a lot from this site, and I'd figure I should start posting at some point. I've played poker in home games and casinos for years, but just started online a while back. I deposited $100 on pokerstars and did what I do at a casino: went to the $1/$2 table. I sat down and after a few days had $900. Then I happened upon this site and realized I sucked, really bad, but I had had the most ridiculous hot streak of all time. I cashed out and didn't play for months.
Lately I've been working on my game and have become a very consistent $2 and $5 sng player, but I don't play for anything like the stakes I do at live games. I also play a lot of HORSE and it's consituent games, and I'm usually the best player at the table at any of the ORSE games at low stakes. The only game that I'm actually not a consistent winner at is NLHE cash games. For some reason I'm a slightly losing player (I think, I'm still up from my nl200 run).
Anyways my welcome present for finally registering for lp was the following hand 5 minutes after my confirmation email. It's my first one ever at showdown and it actually got paid off well despite the scary board (I don't understand why people think low stakes sngs are high variance... they are waaaaaay too soft to let the variance interfere with your results).

So a friend of mine I played with last year made it his first big league start on Tuesday. So congrats to Scott on that amazing accomplishment. He ended up getting the loss for the Bluejays, but still had a decent performance all things considered.
SOoooooooooooo I got sick of ipoker, cahsed everything out(AP as well) and cashed into UB for the bonus + rakeback.
Unfortunately UB sucks with PT handhistories, so for the most part of the month i played without PT. ANd it also doesnt save the HH, so i dont have any stats n shit. What i can say tho is that im now at $1400 which is kinda shit, but I think finally i know how to beat NL50. The secret is being a mega fucking NIT, which sucks but the call stations just kill me if i play any looser. I guess I could somehow adjust to that but im far too shit. So being a nit will pay off.
Also uni started and im doing my thesis so i should probably play less ffs and concentrate on my studies. I should be finished the semster after this, getting a job and working like the rest of the robots on this planet. ALtho my job would be better cos ill be electrical engineer and hopefully it wont be some shitty repetitive work.
Unless some fuckin miracle happens and i become good at this game lol.
Anyway FAAAAAAAAR to much typing, and here are some random pictures.
Because I've been so undisciplined lately when it comes to putting in hands, I've decided I need to set some goals. Unfortunately, I don't have any tangible goal like I did in december (my supernova grind, was actually quite fun to play that much) but hopefully just having some basic goal of X hands will be enough.
So.. I'm going to shoot for 1k hands a day, which probably sounds very low (in december I did 5k a day) but the thing is, I'm 4 tabling. Omaha. That means it takes me almost 4 hours to reach 1k hands which is quite a lot.
I might try 6 tabling eventually, or 3 tables 6 max and 1 table HU, but we'll see. Easier to grind the more tables you play, but I'm not really comfortable enough in my omaha game to mass table I think.
Anyway, played my first 1/2 session of omaha today (I'm a nit so despite being very well rolled I started off much lower to learn ;p) and I'm quite happy with it. Tiny loss but enjoyed playing and think I did a good job of re-focusing everytime I felt myself drifting off. http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/1893/08012008omahaxp7.png
I actually didn't quit just because I was almost back to even.. I swear http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/72010c5bdf4439a1477de81f65cf0127.png
Happy with my aggression numbers increasing, just need to get a little bit more frisky preflop and on the flop.
W$WSF looks meh but it's getting up there, hopefully as a result of my play improving. Once I have a decent sample of hands I'll do some serious PT reviewing.
VPIP looks somewhat low for 4 tabling perhaps, but it's climbing steadily, probably as I figure out how to play more and more hands.
As it's very late and I just wanted to get this up here to make sure I get started, I'll only post a handful of hands:
I think I out-thought myself here.. he insta called flop and turn so I was thinking "wouldn't he stop to think for a bit /w a boat or a 3?".. And ye, I think I need to realize that raising a 3 with no kicker on this flop probably isn't a super good idea in omaha and make it a bigger part of peoples range + Show Spoiler +

Am I outthinking myself here? He snapcalled flop and turn and I thought he'd at least think about raising if he was very strong.. Hm.
Given my poor position, people left to act behind me, and my hand having a gap at the top and only one suite, should I fold preflop to the first raise? Once the action goes like it does I think I have to call for this price. On the flop.. I wasn't sure what my equity would look like here, so I ran it in propokertools vs a set of kings and a flushdraw, and came up with 29%, which is pretty close to enough to get it in here but I wasn't sure if I was being overly optimistic (ie how big is the risk I'll get it in vs like 789T or something). As it turns out I had 31% equity vs their hands (a set of kings and AA w a flushdraw, I guess me and the AA guy holding a six helped us as it limits the boat redraw, and there was only 1 blocker in their hands). Anyway, as I wasn't sure I ended up folding. + Show Spoiler +

Preflop, should I just muck to the raise UTG?
After the flop I ran the hand vs a flushdraw and a set and came up with 29% equity but I'm not sure this is too optimistic or if I should have just gone with the hand here.
I thiiiink this AA** is strong enough for a 3bet. Flop is =[ + Show Spoiler +

Blech flop ;O
Given that he just calls this flop, putting him on a draw/not great hand seems reasonable. If river bricks should I shove to get him off some lousy pair that might beat me? Maybe save myself a headache and check behind turn, but I did pick up a whole load of outs (well, an 8 is still not great) and his hand doesn't look very strong. + Show Spoiler +

Should I fold here preflop (maybe even to the first raise?).
Initially I thought yes, because I have an ace and a pair but with the first guy calling, I'm getting pretty good odds .. BUT I'll probably brick the flop too often to continue.
As nolan said, I think b/f flop is best here. I was probably distracted on some other table as this seems like a pretty good flop to bet. + Show Spoiler +

With the FD missing, I felt c/c was best here since I didn't think he'd call 2 streets with a straight draw on a 2 flush board. Would have snapcalled an allin too. Meh. + Show Spoiler +

Can I lead this flop? Can I call this turn?
Multiway hands confuse me :C
Not sure I should even call here OOP preflop. Maybe I could 3bet this type of hand but I think I'd rather do that 100bb deep as getting it in with a flushdraw and pair or something isn't that bad when shallow but probably not great when this deep.
On the flop.. folding seems weird, raise/fold seems awkward and would be almost purely to define his hand (I guess some value from boatdraws if I make it small) but I'm not gonna even like betting turn and it's gonna get so messy. I decided to call and bluff boat cards but since he checked behind turn I thought I was probably good and decided to check down. Oh well.
Worth noting is that the limper was quite bad, so that might be an argument for calling pre. + Show Spoiler +

Hm, I think I like this line, if I can get it in vs the halfstack I'm not too unhappy, and I might get a bluff out of them. I guess if the bigger stack (who was vvvv loose, like 80/15 or something) slowplayed something that really sucks :[ + Show Spoiler +

Maybe worth a 3bet here preflop? Flop is.. like, if I c/r, I might as well c/r with 4 uno cards, he's never just calling my c/r and I can't call an allin (cause I'll be drawing stone dead to AA** with diamonds/boat/quads or very poorly vs a 3 so meh. Lead?

equity check.. I think given his tiny raise I can call but not sure.
I considered checking turn, since nearly no rivers are bad for me, but he's more of a station than a bluffer I think.. So I probably have to build the pot myself. + Show Spoiler +

Suppose I could check as there's not really any cards I fear, but I think he's more of a caller than a bettor.
Sick that he's actually ahead of me on the flop, didn't realize 2 pair and a fd was enough for that (I knew a set and a fd was tho). Anyway, my plan was to bluff board pairing cards and clubs (oops) but when he checked back turn I obviously decided he didn't have the hand I thought he had (the last QJ) so I scratched that plan. + Show Spoiler +

Hrmph
I sort of wanted to bluff board pairing cards (but the ace isn't great imo) or flush cards (lol good thing that didn't come in huh?!). I was expecting him to have the same hand as me, bleh . On river given that it's an ace I felt kinda meh about raising.
bought a new headset today
for testing purpouse i decided to make a small
video.
i 1 tabled Nl20 HU on Ipoker ...
Just searched for someone with a "big" stack , sat down and took his money.
to be honest i wasnt playing particularly good
since i come from MMA training straight and then decided to do this video.
I would say i played kinda medicore + run good.
Also really misplayed the K9 hand where he had AQ
But maybe its fun for some micro stake players and will get them some general idea of basic message in HU.
Analyze his playstyle and find the weakness of villian.
Also funny site note: the rake was pretty brutal
like close to 20% !!!
So best advide is to not play HU lower than NL100 !
unfortunately i kinda fucked up the recording ...
so its 181mb big + appereantly audio seems to be off a few seconds from time to time... ( so dont wonder when i talk about how i raise hands that u cant see yet at the end of the video )
Video will be uploaded tomorrow.
For July
pretty sick month for me pokerwise
I played NL50 and made +700$profits then established myself at NL100 where i took +2,4K profits then took shots at Nl200 ...then hit a big downswing -> cashed out and now i am back to Nl50
Overall i won close to 1K $
not bad but also not good considerung i was up more than 3K at the middle of the month.
July wasnt great, but it was better than june....by sirracksalot, August 01
im happy cus now im motivated to continue playing...
the real reason for making this:
found this video from watching another vid on here i think...not sure, but this is fucking badass...i seriously cant stop watching this....like everyday i view this at least a dozen times esp while playing poker...so rad
Overall I'm barely up, was up 7k until today where I dropped 4k on ipoker... total sick variance, also on ultimate bet everything has been going bad. Any draws never hit and no hand ever held up, never got paid off. I did take a lot of time off poker. I was planning to buy a real nice car but this project is canceled until I start winning. I don't know yet what I will do - redeposit.. got like 2k left of the 4k I deposited or keep playing ub (who has so little traffic lately). It does suck cause UB has been extremely slow with my bank wire and most of my money is just invested so I can't really re-deposit on ipoker.
I had many good times lately and all that stuff, but I really need to get poker going better.
