If you start gambling on the NBA you won't need to ask me any more questions about that because it will be even more blatant than just taking my word for it. I don't even bet full-games anymore. I'm considering betting the first three-minutes of an NBA game because, well, that can't be fixed can it?

Games have been documented as fixed from outside sources... There has never been documented evidence of the league fixing games and independent reviews of games havnt found any evidence either.

People get it in their head the league fixed the games one way or another and then just leave it to selective memory and confirmation bias to prove themselves correct.

Then sometimes the refs ought to be fired. They're obviously not doing their job correctly.

They are occasionally...but it goes both ways. Thunder fans talking about how LeBron fouled Durant. Heat fans saying Durant should have been fouled out since the Battier block was (to them) an obvious charge and Fisher fouled Wade on the earlier play that gave Harden the steal.
Both sides claim rigging n want refs fired, reality is refs r human and fuck up.

Kings fans just blame that game on them losing the series like the Red Sox fans blame buckner. There was still a game 7 which the kings could have won easily...they lost by 6 points after going 16-30 in free throws and 2-20 from 3. If they had gone 20-30 inn free throws and 3-20 from 3, still atrocious, they would have won all other things being equal.

But regardless of what game 7 was like, you're losing a game you were "supposed" to have won. So say you have a 60% chance of winning against this other team, which is pretty generous between two very good teams.

If one game gets called completely against your favor and you SHOULD have won it, then your chances of winning the series drops a LOT. Out of 10 games, you're supposed to win 6. Instead of being one of the games you're supposed to win, you get marked down as a loss instead and changes your winrate against the team to 50% (winning 5 losing 5) by having a game called completely against you.


That's like the Boston-Miami series. Overtime game two, Boston celtics get 2 noncalls and a Wade kicking his way into the lane (not only is it an offensive foul, he gets a defensive foul called), If those last few minutes of Game 2 had been officiated properly, we wouldnt have seen a Game 6 or 7 and the finals would be OKC v BOS right now.

They actually caught one of the refs being crooked.

Ya Tim D.(can't spell last name off the top of my head)...page 74 of that report "Of the 15 missed or incorrect calls; 8 favored the lakers, 7 favored the kings...in the 4th quarter there were only 3 incorrect calls, 2 favoring the lakers, 1 favoring the kings." That's poor referring not crooked.

Well if their incompetence is playing such a part due to Human nature and not bias then they clearly need more refs on the court or some automatic system to assist them like in tennis

Battier was moving side-to-side as durant went up in the air. Anyone who thinks that is a charge should review it. And refs never call end of playoff game fouls like that Fisher/Wade one.
