Howard to Lakers?
How likely? |
howard for lopez is a terrible trade for the magic (lopez is injury prone / no where near the value) - bymun had a carrer year last year, played the entire year. This is about as good as u can get value wise, esp since howard says he will only sign with the nets / lakers |

^ orlando won't get bynum. the proposed trade is a three way deal where cavs will get bynum, orlando will get verajao and draft picks and lakers get howard

If orlando keeps all their shooters and gets draft picks + varejao + some money (not sure on this) then It's a great deal for orlando since howard is 100% gone regardless. The one thing people keep forgetting is that orlando flourishes with the 3-pointer. I remember when they played atlanta 2 years ago and even when dwight put up 41 points against them in game 1 they still lost by double digits. I think it's an awesome deal and varejao is grossly underestimated by everyone.
From what I just read looks like jameer is signed for three more years with orlando. So, you got jameer reddick and turk which will be enough shooting and you throw in some goofy forwards like big baby/ayon/few rookies with varejao to make this the new slamming orlando magic |

Team Acquires
Lakers Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon, Earl Clark
Nuggets Andre Iguodala
76ers Andrew Bynum, Jason Richardson
Magic* Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, Moe Harkless Josh McRoberts, Christian Eyenga
* Magic also receive: Future first-round pick from Philadelphia (with some protection, likely through the Lottery)
* 2014 first-round pick from Denver (the lower of the Nuggets' two first-rounders that year; Denver also has New York's first-round pick from the Carmelo Anthony deal)
* 2017 first-round pick from the Lakers
Holy crap - Trade Dwight Howard for a chair and a empty cup, gg Orlando, worst possible trade. Lakers are a ridiculous franchise, they keep acquiring superstars for nothing |

Heat who? The Lakers look sick. Bryant Nash Howard Gasol.... Seems unfair. It is going to be fun to watch them play. |

hmm lakers are 3:1 to win the championship, seems a little low, esp w/ the heat still being 5:2 |

im guessing only reason for it is we don't know how Howard will be post-surgery, back surgery is serious business |

Meh. I felt like Nash was declining big time last season so I don't see the big deal here. Acquiring Howard was huge but kobe is declining as well. This seems like a last ditch effort more than a dynasty or anything. I am really excited for philly though because I think that with bynum they now have the size they have needed for the last two seasons to compete in the east and that team is just fucking so unreal good at home considering their disadvantages of lacking star power/size |

Kobe was throwing up a lot of bad shots cause his team was unable to generate offence which should not be an issue anymore. Lakers gonna play at a higher tempo now |

There's no way you are actually doubting Kobe. As long as his team keeps the game competitive till the final 2 minutes, Kobe can close 100%. As for Howard's back surgery 90% sure that was a bogus "back surgery" so he could quit the play offs.
My hate for Howard unfort is >>> than my hope for Nash to finally win won. Talk about paying dues holy shit. |

maybe I should post a youtube video of the buzer beaters missed by kobe? you realize hes a sub 45% shooter, this does not go up in the last 2 min.. |

obviously i'm not claiming kobe is going to shoot 100%, i meant that he is capable of closing games.
there are prob what 3-4 people you would want to take the last shot? KD, Kobe, LBJ, Melo in that order?
and yes Kobe shoots < 45% but as you have already pointed out, when there are no other options, and when the offense is stalling Kobe takes plenty of contested shots. But watching him play in playoffs or in the Olympics, it's obvious he still knows how to pass and looks for the open shot.
might as well add that about Wade too. it's startling and mind boggling to see them play selfishly during the regular season (with a LBJ-less heat) and see them both adjust so completely to team oriented basketball during high intensity games like playoffs/Olympics. obviously they know what they are doing trying to carry the load during the long regular season |

I would put durant over kobe at this point, durant is a absolutely ridiculous shooter, there is no one who can legitimately affect his shot - I would not put melo on any basketball list except on players I don't want on my team. Shaq won 3 championships /kobe in which fisher / horry made multiple miracle shots / plays, kobe did not close any of those games, he just took a lot of bad shots most of which missed. |
