Hey I'm Steve from Pennsylvania, I'm 18 years old and I found this site through the fact that every time you type poker on teamliquid it links to here. I thought I would give poker a shot as a hobby (for now!), and signed up. I've been playing SC for about a year and a half, I have about 100 posts on TL (I'm a huge lurker at the sites I frequent, preferring reading to posting) and I just started poker (playing mostly nl 2 hold 'em at this point).

Hey, everyone.

My name is Tom Ato and I've been playing online poker (micro-stakes) casually for a few years now. After seeing a number of my friends move up in limits, I've decided to really get serious about it, start grinding it out, and start moving up.

I've decided to grind SNGs since I believe this is my best game and it's the game I enjoy playing the most. I'll be starting at the $1 18-seat (Turbo) SNGs and moving up from there. I will also be trying to take advantage of their BoP small/large orbits and trying to place anywhere in the top 100 for both for the added bonus. Ideally, top 5 for both orbits.

My Main Goals:
-Grind SNGs from $1 18-seat SNGs up to $10 SNGs. Then move up from $10 SNGs.

Sub Goal:
-Play a minimum of 100 SNGs during the weekly BoP time limit to take advantage of the small/large orbits.

Would be funny if he never realised until now, boy must his cheeks be red...!

To give you some actual advice I think starting poker at such a low stage, now everyone has gotten good, could mean your efforts end up being fruitless.

LOL @ my name!

I don't see how my decision to improve my game and move up is fruitless at all? I want to get better at this game, play better, and move up in stakes for my own personal reasons. Not to catch-up with anyone or anything like that.

sup guys,

I've been playing on PS for about a month now, started with 50, went up to 150 then tilted like crazy and went down to -100, now I'm grinding my way back up on the NL10 tables ;p

I go to college in Cali, and I'm Korean.

Did I mention I play starcraft? I used to play iccup but I've been too busy with poker and sc2 beta to keep up. (I'm gongmyung on sc2, add me if u wanna play sometime)

RaiZ   France. Jul 02 2010 09:05. Posts 1503

you don't want to play nl10 with only a half minimum bankroll. I suggest you to read articles first before playing any others hands

Btw i'm not sure i've presented myself, so here i am.

I'm Raizen-NRV, been playing starcraft since 1999 and got to french national team for maybe 1 month (? lol i don't remember, i couldn't care tbh) and i'm deaf. I don't longer play starcraft because i'm waiting for the 2nd one. Right now i'm playing tmnf, poker and to some extent, wow but only just to get my characters up to date (read 1 or 2 months every year).

I'm currently playing nl10 and tried nl25 but i failed. I won't give up though, i'm pretty sure i could crush it if i try to get way less aggressive (read my blog for better understanding )

As i'm deaf, it's kinda hard to find jobs within my expectations. Because so many ppl underestimate the intelligence of handicaped ones. That's why i love poker, you test your own skills without them being able to know how you are or which handicap you have.

This is also why i've played starcraft and tmnf for a long period. I tried to get competitive in both but only got to C+ on pgt era or got to french final scene for trackmania nations.

So i guess i'm not expecting too high if i want to become successful at poker right ? At least, i want to crush the french souls. Can't stand them.

Hope you liked it.

Regards,

Raiz
