It seems like everything I do at the poker table is ass backwards. Every hand I post, its pointed out that I misplayed it horrendously (not complaining at the people pointing this out for me). Its like my internal logical thinking ability is completely .. trash. My assumptions are always wrong, what I expect people to do with each hand in their range is skewed, my hand values are all fucked. I don't understand. Whats wrong with me. It isn't as if I'm, in my mind at least, just clicking buttons, but that is what the result looks like after I see what other people think about what I'm doing.

I hope someone has an idea of what I'm talking about, and how I can change it.

That's why I'm frustrated right now.

When I feel totally lost I start playing around 17/14 and a very straight-forward game, only double and triple barreling against the tightest regs. Never getting into any leveling wars, always believing what ppl are repping.
Kinda vague advice... but tight and straight-forward 'till you get into the right mindset and stop double guessing every play. - Keep it simple.

How did you self destruct so badly? Weren't you taking shot at NL 400 a few months ago? And now you are grinding NL 50 doubting yourself....

Fuck me

If you're serious then yeah I will try to play tighter from the button, I do seem to have a strong habit of getting myself into hands I guess I shouldn't even be playing in. Also had a hand earlier where I restole sb vs btn with T2s.

If you mean I am looking at the wrong spots for leaks then idk. I post this hand because I decided to cbet and the turn was weird and resulted in another -20bb in nonshowdown winnings (I turned a Q on flush card and I bet-folded vs a x/r, which seems to happen constantly in this spot so maybe I should get a clue).

i think what pooruser is saying is that if you're gonna raise q3hh from the button (which is fine imo) that you should know what you're gonna do on that board, not that you should tighten up.

I believe your problem is that you care too much. I think blogging for the most part is counter-intuitive to progress also. Review your basics and play tighter for a little while, even if you seem to be passing spots that are marginally +EV, it's going to be much more profitable because it will give you less occasions to spew big. If all fails, get a competent coach even if for just a few sessions so that he sees what you can't see you are doing completely wrong.

fuck I should just sell some of my Pokemon cards, if no one stakes that is what I will have to do - lostaccount

Besides lovemaking and singing in the shower, there aren't many human activities where there is a greater difference between a person's self-delusional ability and their actual ability than in poker.

Indeed I don't think blog spamming helps a lot. I've reduced my poker related blogging significantly and I plan to continue doing so, just doesn't seem to yield and benefit.

I've wanted a coach off and on just for a few sessions but I have no money for such a thing. heh

That's nice, but I never said I was good or implied that this year has been shit just because I am running bad (or, at least not for well over 6 weeks). So fuck right on out of my blog, friend.

Because I'm often hostile and when I solicit advice I don't try to be courteous or make sure people know that I read and do my best to apply my limited wits towards considering each suggestion I receive.

I don't want to be openly trolled in my own blog any further.

A lot of hands I see you doing weird shit, so just sit back, tighten up and play off of that image you earned, the money will start coming.

your confidence is probably shot. So i would suggest dropping down some limits, until you dont feel pressure anymore. That is where you will get back to good routines. Then you can move up again after a short time. Atleast that helped me get out my hole.

Everyone is different, but can tell you what made things "klick" for me.

I stopped posting hands, because most of the advice was wrong for my style of play, kinda gotten in a good niche, and try to use my image along with that niche, and even though ppl can come with good analysis, it might be wrong depending on how you play. Feel I get more confident if I do it that way. (Feel it's much better to read other people's hands though).

And when lots of people are saying good shit, you're maybe trying to take in all these tips, and they get miss applied or miss interpeted.

Also helped my winrate LOADS, by cutting out hud, and playing 2-5 tables. Cutting down long sessions, never over 90 minuts, love the idea of (You accumulate lots of mental garbage as you play, hands, notes, reads, cards, just stuff). And by quitting after that amount, you empty the bin, and can go again fresh.

I do make exceptions, if I lose 2-3 bi, I stop, if I feel I'm winning good, or on a heather, I don't stop, and I make up silly rules, like "If I lose 2 bi, or I feel the heather has stopped, I stop.) And I get family or brother to pick up food and I sit till it stop. (One time it didn't stop in 11 hours, brutal, but not complaining lol).

Also mix up ur playtime/study time. What I feel REALLY worked for me was, if I win in a session, I play the next session, and if I keep winning, well then I'm always playing, when I lose a session, the next session has to be study of poker, I then re-read my blog, or read in one of the great books, or some articles or movie. And then I'm allowed to play again, so that way, you keep ur confidence up, if you eat right, train right, mix in study and breaks, you won't feel shit or bad or have a nagging feeling when you lose, because you did what u could.

Ok, sorry for the rant, just tried to put in all the best stuff I do now that I didn't do before when I was a marginal/break even winner =]

Hope any of it helps, gl hf

I am, I feel really bad when I rage, but it doesn't feel good when it seems like your life or at least the thing you've been trying to accomplish for ages is falling apart, even if its your own fault. sounds dramatic I realize
