I wanted the collector's edition so bad but I'm totally destroyed financially this month lol. Celebrated my birthday in April and waste a shitload of money and then have to buy presents for mother's day and teacher's day (in my country) that are celebrated in a couple of days, then figured out I can't run Diablo III on this laptop because it fucking suck so I ordered a CPU just for this, I guess I'll just buy 2 digital copies so i can play with my little brother and hopefully in June/July i'll start searching in online stores to see if I can get one CE, since in my country it costs like $300-$350 USD it's very possible that some stores still have at least 1-2.

interesting stuff about inferno mode and enrage timers on bosses:
http://www.diablofans.com/news/1193-j...mmercial-and-irvine-launch-questions/

i was amost sold on inferno being really dificult until this, now they said it's soloable..

do you guys think it's gonna be really hard? how long you think it will take until the first person/group beats inferno hc? i would guess 2 weeks tops

Blizzard said Brutal was gona be insanely hard in sc2 loool and still claim that brutal is only beaten by 2% of sc2 players(aparently they think the top 2% means they're good). inferno is going to be so easy my mum will be able to play it with her balls. they should design it to be impossible, then multiply difficulty by 1000. then if the worlds best players complain that it's too hard after 10 weeks of release they can patch it to make it easier.

The tone that guy had in the interview, he said there were hardcore gamers at blizzard(lol). You just know it's going to be easy after that.

I hope there arent too many spots where you cant escape and are guaranteed to die without the proper gear, cuz I plan to play HC from the start.

If you're posting on a site like this odds are you are already in the top 2% and the game will be easy as shit for you. Altho I still expect some gimmick deaths the first play through.

I'm not playing it for the game play, being in beta kind of ruined that for me since I think the game is pretty bad at least what was playable of it. I'm playing it for the story and to kill some time with friends, after that I will bot the fuck out of it for tiny profits(more so as a meaningless personal fuck you to activisionblizzard's greed than a need for money) while I play other games I have more interest in.

How easy is D3 to pick up and understand without playing D1/D2?

If you can right click you can make it to lvl 13 with any class. That's as far as beta let us go, but yea the mechanics are very simple just point and click and maybe throw in a hotkey here and there. However you got 8days before D3, I would really suggest playing D1/D2, not because of anything it has to do with D3, but because they are 2 of the best aRPGs ever made.

I'd say if you want to be up to speed story wise and catch all the references go watch summaries on youtube, cinematics and highlights do a much better job than actual games. Not that it will matter, strory will be mostly standalone and 93% easily understandible without D1/D2 knowledge. Gameplay wise there's absolutely no need to check out previous games, D3 is mind numbingly easy unless you see this kind of game for the first time, and Blizzard knows that most profits will come from people that never go beyond normal, so it's tailored to be good fun for people just like you.

For SoC and anyone else who doesn't know about diablo:

Blizzard designs their games to be easy to learn, hard to master. You can definitely just jump into the game with 0 prior knowledge and progress at a steady rate, having fun. Blizzard also does a good job of giving you things to master once you've got the ropes. Diablo 3 works like this for a new player: You make a character, and jump into Normal Difficulty. The game has 5 chapters ("acts" which will progressively introduce all of the variety of the Diablo monsters, their abilities, and by the end of Normal you will have a wide variety of skills and builds to choose from. After you've beaten Normal mode you can start moving up the ladder of difficulties. In each successive difficulty, you play through the game again. Monsters in general will be stronger, faster, and more aggressive. Monsters with game-changing modifiers (monster packs with teleportation, electric bolts, slowing attack, explode on death, etc. etc.) become more and more common, and in the 4th difficulty (Inferno) there are monster modifiers which don't even exist in the earlier modes.

The game is all about the feeling of not knowing which possibly-insane combination of abilities the next monster pack and their leader will have, and the chance at a sweet-ass item popping out of their corpse.

They had a team just play inferno, and when that team said it was sufficiently difficult, they doubled the difficulty. I'm not saying it's going to be god awfully frustrating hard, but I bet it will be much more difficult than Diablo 2 end game ever was.

I'm hesitant to roll HC characters right off the bat, without exploring just how difficult the game will actually be.
