which do you guys think will be better for hardcore mode, monk or WD? having a hard time deciding ..

WD has the option of hanging back from melee range, while still being durable and doing dmg/debuff/control

i'd say wd. monk will still be strong, but probably die more often simply cuz of melee range

The classes that will own in Inferno are going to be the ranged classes.

I have a bad feeling about staying up opening night since servers are very rarely playable with everyone flooding the log in that night.

One benefit of having a normal job. Won't be able to play at all til like 6PM so won't be dealing with opening lag.

isn't that what the stress test was for?

the stress test was pretty tiny compared to what it will be like come release night, as it was just a tiny part of the beta that the majority of people had already played and quit before then

I'm sure Blizzard would prepare their servers for release day. Its not like they cannot afford to buy servers anyways.

Just going off track record, sc2 had a lot of issues on release and was much smaller than I expect d3 to be as have every wow expansion since the original and with such a huge down time in wow til the next expan I expect huge numbers to be playing this. Affording servers and buying servers is a completely different thing.

I bought sc2 on release date and I don't remember any server issues, and I never played WoW, but you're right its possible that blizzard may not buy enough servers. I would just assume that based off the # of preorders (most pre-ordered game ever on amazon) that blizzard has an estimate of how many servers they will need. Not really sure if it being released on Tuesday matters too much but traffic wouldn't be as bad on Friday.

My masterplan is : Go to bed about 3 hours before servers open, wake up about 3 hours after they open, dodge queues, play till 2 pm!

I just hope Blizzard prepares for tomorrow. When they break Amazon pre-order records for PC games you may want to buy 1 mirrion servers.

The first weekend generally isn't as bad as release night because they get to see numbers closer to what the real load will be the days leading up to it.
