FYI, When people do this against me I generally call like 99+ AJ+ and I'm nearly allways ahead.

I've done this (very rarely) at 50 and 100 NL (but always with KK or AA) and have been called roughly 1/4 of those times. However, I have never been called by worse than QQ (AQ, I think, once, and AK the majority of the times I was called). I've seen people shove all in preflop with any pocket pair at 5 and 10 NL, though, even when they are first to act, full ring. I suppose, if you want action in the future at this particular table, you can do what you did and then show your hand when everyone folds.
