Damn man so sorry to hear, iv always liked looking at ur hands you post, but i think you should keep at ityou are a great player), if you get a site like prima and just grind out 50NL/100NL even on a break even month you can make 1000-1500 off of rakeback, living at home is def a good idea when in school, but best of luck with whatever u decide

Over this month i have tried so many things but non of them worked out and now due to this my life is turning into one big filthy shit, i have lost motivation for everything, sports, studies and poker. Tired of everything dunno

I think you should start from scratch, I just recently did that.

Hm, im a newbie but i think you just got too emotional about this and you simply need to distance yourself from the bad run you've been going thru.
Just look at the whole picture completely objectively and from a neutral point of view.

Ask yourself this question: During the winning times, were you playing good or were you running lucky?
Noone can be lucky enough to win at poker, which means you _are_ a good player.

If i were you, i'd just go on even lower blinds and just play a day or 2 like that. Go low enough that you wont mind if you lose, but if you win, it could get you some confidence back.

Also, try to keep the positive attitude, dont think of your bad run as in "im running bad" try to think of it like "i was running bad recently, lets see how i do now". the cards dont know you're running bad, and you should try to ignore that too.(besides BR managment part)

I hope at least one of those sentences will be a helpful one to you.

Have an opinion about what I said? please say it

Are you sure you weren't just running bad and ended up 'fixing' things that weren't broken?

Hm.. Off-suite socks..

What did Negreanu say about the 2 types of players?
You maybe are one of those who need to challenge themselves...
So a REAL BAD DOWNSWING shouldn't get you out of line. Take a break... and I mean a real one.... wait to get the enthusiasm back and the meaning to play the real A game.
And think positive! If you can't do that just quit for the time beeing.
Everbody goes through tough times while playing the game... and if you feel like you cant take it at the moment then so be it.
But I know you will come back maybe even with a new perspective or a new approach and you will be the winning player again!

What lots of you people dont seem to understand is that not everybody runs average good over a large enough sample size.
The majority of people do run avergae of course and thats why they think others do run average , too

I can totally understand Anons feelings.
I think i am kinda going through the same thing. ( only on lower stages)
Its easy to say keep going and stuff when u run average most of the time.
But its a different story when u run bad almost all the time.

Everbody goes through tough times while playing the game , thats true
But absolutely not everybody runs soo bad ever

U see what i did there with A8 ? He 4 bets and there we go insta jam A8 : ---booooom -- . hahahaha ( Krantz)

Fayth    Canada. Oct 01 2007 13:57. Posts 10085

when you run bad all the time, it is because you do something bad, either table selection, the way you play or whatever it is, you can not play very good and lose for like 300k hands

Im really bad at writing but heres my attempt.

I know the stress poker can cause you, because it can consume you so completly that you will lose everything from your sight except poker itself. When I recenlty ran bad i started playing nl25 just to play poker but not for real money (i had proper roll for nl400). I continued to run bad there and noticed that what annoys me was losing which leads to playing bad which leads to losing. Oh the cicious cirlce. Losing pots was the worst. It wasnt about the money anymore but i was as upset when i was losing at nl400. I was constantly upset , frustrated and angry.
Its a fact that poker got tougher and sub optimal play may not be enough to beat solid players. However there are still plenty of really, i mean really bad players. Find your stakes that you can make "semi-decent" money and work on your game. And lets face it. NL100 was never hard and never will be. Its enough if you play to be break even agaisnt "solid" players and prey on fishes. I mean ffs its nl100. Even if you play sub optimal its so incredibly hard not to win at these stakes. When after playing for so long , watching/reading about poker for so long and you cant beat nl100 then maybe quitting poker is viable
option for you. I dont really know how u play but your stats seems fairly standard and there must be something that causes you not to crush these games. Maybe its tilt and burning money or weak/tight stationy poker that makes you slowly bleed out your chips. Running bad and suckouts will have to end eventually. To me its seems so incredibly hard not to make money on nl100 when you play something that even resembles optimal play . Maybe its your game selection that sux. So your "tight-weakish" so called A-game isnt enough to beat the rake and 5 solid 18/14/3 TAGs. By any means im not saying that you are a bad player. Just maybe not good enough to beat opponents on certain level. Find that level and work on your game continously while working your way up in the stakes.
Its up to you whether you choose to quit and lead poker-stress free life or get a grip, work on your game and beat it. So you can add another zero to your bankroll after 6 months.
