I am going to say something good about hiems and I don't know how I feel about it.

I will say that he seems to put a lot of hands of poker in while working a full-time job and that is tough to do. I think his nittiness in bankroll could be a hindrance or the fact that he does have a full-time job which is obviously not a hindrance on making money but it is very hard to come home every night and get hands in on an A game. I'm trying. I know Yoda says there is only do or do not but fuck that guy I'm trying.

First session with the 30'' monitor. I decided to 4 table. It went pretty well but I'm not sure my computer can handle it. It was kind of laggy. I'm running Jurojin and Spotify as well. The thing about Jurojin is that it is pretty awesome but the damn betting hotkeys stopped working like 2/3 into my sesh. Oh well, overall, not bad for a first outing with new hardware AND software AND doubling the tables.

As a part time player don't compare ur volume to full time players or people with remote jobs.

5k is acceptable volume. 10k is decent. 20k is good volume. 30k is excellent volume.

Ignition does have zoom so things are a bit different if u go that route.

What is the deal with Zoom?

I thought my internet connection was solid as fuck but the games get a bit laggy from time to time. I lagged out and folded AQss with tptk on the turn and things like that are just annoying. Is there anything I can do to improve this?

Like, Spotify just stopped streaming. It probably doesn't help my parents are downstairs streaming what ever dullard show they are streaming.

Pretty pathetic my life has been and is currently. I'm off in my cave 4 tabling 10 NL complaining about my parents streaming dullard tv shows.

I don't know what to say though. Poker is more fun than most video games.

well in 2020 after sars-covid-2 (a respiratory disease in the coronavirus family that broke out in late 2019) spread out of the initial city of wuhan, china, and became a global pandemic, in order to combat the spread, governments adopted a policy of social distancing whereby citizens would eschew face to face contact to the extent possible. as a result unnecessary interactions were moved to remote systems to reduce the risk of transmission. zoom quickly became the most common application for this remote telelifestyle. but now as social distancing winds down, the company is facing the horrifying truth that they will never face a period of such demand again in their entire existence as they did in this once in a century pandemic.

It seems to be not very profitable in the long run to play those kind of hands. - Gus Hansen

Ya i realize most ppl recommend reg tables I was just speaking about volume. Zoom can be a good tool to improve your game tho.

Fwiw nj doesn't have zoom.

It is weird. I don't know if my computer is having a hard time running everything or if it is solely an internet connection. My parents watch bad tv every night for like 2-4 hours on streaming services so that could be it too.

Doesn't matter if the rake structure is the same no?

What does matter is if my win-rate goes down on Zoom or not and by how much.

Let's say I get double the hands in yet my win-rate is cut in half. That is not a great outcome imo (variance, stress, etc.)

God damn it. I'm actually relatively tilted. I have to figure out this lag issue and what I need to do to make it better.

I sqz'd 2 donks with AJo and the flop came Jd Jc 8d.......

Short sb shoves it in, I raise small but instead I time out and fold even though I could do actions on other tables.

This happened in Argentina and it was definitely the internet. 4bet / timing out with AK / AA, chk/raise and folding sets. This case today is a little mind boggling though because I know for a fact we have really good internet. All I'm running on my computer is Jurojin, Ignition, and Spotify and like 2 Chrome pages.

Just ran an ookla speed test:

ping (ms) = 50
download (Mbps) = 148.6
upload (Mbps) = 23.54

This should not be an issue?

RiKD    United States. May 12 2022 05:07. Posts 8520

I think I found the culprit.

I believe for some reason Jurojin really gums everything up and causes the lag. Never had any issues before I used it and that last session there was no lag whatsoever when I didn't use it.

The other possibility is that my parents went to sleep and stopped streaming shitty tv shows.

Play what you feel. Yes, the rake structure is the same. That's why zoom has way higher rake per hour, and more $ per hour if your winrates are similar. If you can do well at zoom you can make mad bank.

Zoom is not so great if your learning. But in this day and age you learn off the table anyway, or your done.

Seems like stroggos can't beat zoom.
