I actually didn't notice the overbet on turn. I think that narrows your range down even more.

Bluffs would be: XXcc, 46s, 69s, 6Ts, 57s, 58s, 59s, 99?, A6dd?, 63s? J9dd?, JTdd?


Then it begs the question if any of your value hands doesn't 2x pot on river.

Interesting spot. It'd be better to have blockers but if you don't do this, do you just give up with K high? But if you do do this always are you overbluffing? I think most players would fold vs this jam with non-straight holdings so it's close.

I think most opponents fold here and his call is w/e but I def have exactly the types of hands I am repping a lot here

In my solver work I've never really seen a spot that likes to OB OOP when the boards brings the ranges closer together in equity. Generally on these boards we actually end up checking OOP a decent amount on flop and using 1/3 size despite not betting near range. Then on most turns we end up checking a decent amount and using smaller sizings when straights and flushes complete since it brings ranges closer together since they hit both players typically (obv straights that the IP cant have are kind of irrelevent). So I'm not sure we have any hands that benefit from any overbets on these boards. For value or bluff that is. Since the defense would make it so the range is so narrow that we could use, we wouldnt be able to leverage an advantage by having the sizings in the first place. Realistically he only needs to call with a straight and hand full of sets when he has it and fold everything else and he will be denying us any ability to make money here. I'd have to run it to be more accurate on that point but sets probably get to fold a large amount in his spot and still deny bluffs

Sorry another point i left out is that missed FDs typically never get used in lines like this as bluffs because we block them having missed clubs, which increases the chance they have the nuts

I also did a bunch of solver work with this hand and the solver absolutely does not like playing this hand aggressively on the flop.


however, if it gets to the spot, it likes the bluff a tiny fraction of the time lol


it also doesnt like villain's call. I thought his call was crazy



edit: also regarding how the hand itself was played, my flop cbet is just not optimal apparently. so that's a misplay.
after that, I just really really really didn't think he had 56 based on some intuition and its not super likely he has 55, incredibly unlikely he has 9T, so I really was just trying to tell a story that I had 56s/9ts

which I really, really thought he should have believed. lol

I know it's easy to say now but it probably looked like a story to him, do you really go allin here with the straight on river? I don't know how aggro you are but maybe he just thought the range you play here is mostly flush draws/air and you don't jam the straight as a part of a merged range.
