- This event will mark the promotion's inaugural fight in the women's flyweight division as former UFC Women's Strawweight Championship challenger Valerie Letourneau will face Joanne Calderwood. Despite that, a formal introduction of the division has not yet been made since promotion officials are still determining whether or not to permanently add the division.
- Norifumi Yamamoto was scheduled to face Chris Beal at the event. However, Yamamoto was pulled from the bout on May 26 due to an undisclosed injury. He was replaced by former Bellator Featherweight Champion and one time UFC Bantamweight Championship challenger Joe Soto.
- Alex Garcia was scheduled to face Colby Covington, but pulled out on June 9 due to undisclosed reasons. He was replaced by promotional newcomer Jonathan Meunier.

MacDonald > Thompson - Great fight. I favor MacDonald ever so slightly, but there's no doubt Thompson is the better and more dangerous striker early in the fight. Should be a war.
Cerrone > Cote - Excited to see Cerrone at 170, he was a massive LW and it seemed like the cut was pretty brutal. He's not as durable as Cote but other than that he's better everywhere.
Interested to see Herrera and Saggo - I think they are both good prospects with tough matchups.
Very well-matched card on the whole, all the fights are competitive.

I just updated the OP. It looks like the UFC decided to start this card later than their usual cards.
The new schedule looks like this:
Date: Saturday, June 18th
Preliminary Card (UFC Fight Pass): 23:45 LP.net / 3:45pm PST / 6:45pm EST
Preliminary Card (Fox Sports 1): 01:30 LP.net / 5:30pm PST / 8:30pm EST
Main Card (Fox Sports 1): 03:30 LP.net / 7:30pm PST / 10:30pm EST
Not betting on this card, but I think Rory win this.

"Fighters will be able to weigh-in at the fighter hotel Friday morning between 9 a.m. and noon, rather than the typical 4 p.m. weigh-in time, [Dave] Sholler said. There will still be a "weigh-in" show at 5 p.m. where the official weights gathered earlier in the day will be announced."

rory will have a grand old time eating those wicked kicks with no load-up, he is also almost the same size as rory's which used to be an advantage for rory. if wonderboy can further fine tune his kicking ability into MMA with a couple more wins he'll be unstoppable. his sister is married to carlos machado too, so you know he's got some ground game. i dunno this guy might be the next champ who gets to dominate the WW and even MW someday

Btw is it me or the UFC hates wonderboy?
It seems like they always give him the toughest matchups they can, like if theyre trying to protect Lawler or something.
james9994: make note dont play against floofy, ;(

They arent clearly pampering as much as they could given his great showmanship, but you could argue that a fight against a high paced pressure fighter like Condit would be much worse for Wonderboy, Rory gives a lot of space and is mostly a striker, it sure is very good but stylistically looks like a good matchup for Wonderboy.

I agree. This is the one matchup in the entire division I don't favor him in besides maybe Condit.
Then again if he runs through Rory then they know to just market the living fuck out of him as he'll probably be pretty unstoppable.

Rory is probably my favorite modern age fighter. Previous guys at that level Fedor/GSP. I can't really think of anyone currently in the UFC that I like more.
You almost twin-caracked his AK - JonnyCosmo

Listening to Thompson talk details about striking, distance management...manipulating his opponent's hand movements so he could create better counter angles is a little eye opening. Really played out old saying but I imagine Hendricks felt like he was playing checkers in there against a Thompson that was playing chess
Really want to root for Rory because if he loses, it's going to be sad watching pudgy Dana and the UFC play the 'oh we want fighters on the upswing...not downswing of their career' card that they like to play when negotiating with fighters about to hit free agency. But the more I see of Thompson's fights, more I think Rory's face from the Lawler fight is going to have somewhat of a repeat appearance. Apparently Thompson's been training a ton with Weidman to help his TDD as well

Basically you like smart strategic fighters
that's maybe because he's a smart, strategic SC/BW player.
rory will have a better chance if he survives the 1st round, unless thompson owns him in the next rounds. but rory is the best fighter thompson is facing, so i doubt he'll dominate the fight beyond the 1st round.
i wanna bet rory on the ML, and thompson 1st round KO/TKO at +400 if a sportsbook has it.

edit: and a southpaw!
I honestly like the way they present themselves outside of the fights too.
is thompson a tough fighter? as in, as tough or as close as lawler-tough?
having second thoughts on rory. he's won easily in most of his fights, but he's lost the toughest fights in his career... all in the last round vs condit, vs lawler 1, vs lawler 2.
one could argue that he's mentally weak.

"Tough" has multiple meanings.
Can Wonderboy take a shot and survive through adversity? Yes. We've seen him get dropped by Ellenberger and get back up and do his thing. Early in his UFC career, he had a war with Matt Brown and lost a close decision cuz he had no wrestling skills at that point in time.
Being tough like Robbie Lawler means that you take a ton of damage. Wonderboy's style has allowed him to avoid taking a bunch of damage.
