by tough, i mean grit as baal said. i think some grit is needed to win vs rory because rory may be lacking in it. when push comes to shove, rory folded in some of his toughest fights.

The guy took a pretty insane amount of punishment while also dishing it out almost non stop for 4 full rounds against a beast mode Robbie Lawler before succumbing to a broken nose amidst a broken face. And his grit and toughness is questioned?

Other example was vs an already experienced top fighter in Condit when Rory was still a 20 year old kid basically. And that finish came barely on time. Some ridiculously high standards you got there

hahahaha! don't be butthurt, it's not about that rofl. it's about making a bet and analyzing both fighters. been reading up on both fighters. rory is the toughest opponent thompson ever faced. but then rory could fold if thompson could go all out beast mode on him. that's why i was asking if thompson was "tough" in a sense like robbie lawler is tough.

i agree with iamkim

Rory is probably on my top 5 of fighters with the most grit in the UFC
That being said, i think Thompson got some too, as shown in his Matt Brown fight.
There's also a little risk rory might not have as much grits after his last fight.

Bets i'm planning to do:

Thompson
Cote
O conell if odds come back to +160<
letourneau
Maybe beal (need more research)
markos
maybe bagautinov

james9994: make note dont play against floofy, ;(Last edit: 17/06/2016 05:16

since when does Rory fold under punishment? His fight vs Lawler proves the opposite.

rory - condit. a tough fight, and condit finished him in the 3rd round. then there's rory - lawler 1, he was ahead the first round and maybe the 2nd round (IMHO), but lost badly on the 3rd. And then this is the worst of all, rory - lawler 2. he was doing fine in this fight then at the 5th round he basically couldn't take anymore punishment and quit after eating a jab from lawler. he touched his nose, voluntarily fell down and turtled and asked the ref to stop the fight.

i know rory is an elite fighter, but after that last fight vs lawler, i don't know. if you wanna be a champ, you must dig deep and give it your all. maybe he just isn't in that class of champs. or maybe he's mentally weak, especially vs the likes of lawler. again nothing against rory. just trying to find more info and would love to listen to more of your opinions about him. thanks.

Rory vs Wonderboy is one of those fights where I have a really hard time figuring out the ways I think it will go do. Only thing I really know is leg kicks will be important for Rory.

Why ppl keep saying this is the thougher opponent for wonderboy? he just beat Hendricks which on paper should be a more difficult matchup given his superb wrestling.

Im not saying wonderboy has this, all im saying is that before his last fight I would have thought that he had better odds vs Rory than vs Jhonny

hendricks just looks tough cos he's a wrestler. rory is a better fighter overall, hence he's the tougher opponent.

The length factor is huge when facing a guy like Wonderboy.

You are right though, on paper, Hendricks should have done much better. He came in with no gameplan and panicked.

Well theres a couple things with Johnny. First, he came in crazy light. A dude who's almost always 195+ was like 175. Kinda like how Weidman came in like 15 pounds lighter against Luke. Theres also a possibility we're seeing a not as good post USADA Johnny. I've been very suspicious of him since he refused to do the testing with GSP. Plus the massive difference in reach worked out well in Wonderboys favor.

Also it's hard to just base everything off 1 fight. Hendricks is really the only top 15ish guy Wonderboy has beat so far.

And it's harder to have an easier fight for Wonderboy than the Hendricks one lol.

Wow if anyone just saw the Fedor fight he just got 10-7'd and then came back and won a HIGHLY questionable decision

I am just hoping Fedor retires and never comes in the UFC. He is going to get demolished and it will be hard to watch.

no way it was 10-7 wtf, actually I wouldnt even give it a 10-8 given the fact that feddor was pummeling Maldonado before he clipped him and won the other 2 rounds no question.

Amazing how fedor recovered from that, without that single punch this fight would have looked like a one sided rape I wouldnt jump to conclusions watching that, obv Fedor is past prime but I think ppl are giving him too little credit for being nearly KOd from a punch
