Houston matches up with Blake on defense better than the Spurs do. Also, there could be something to be said about the mental drain that kind of series (seemed like it was a 1 or 2 possession game for like 3/4th of the entire minutes played) has on a team. That kind of armchair psychology could go both ways though I guess and the narrative could be that it only made them stronger since they finally toppled the Spurs who CP3 and Blake have openly made their goal to beat.

I like Chicago's chances in the Cleveland series. Cleveland's roster/bigs can't handle Pau if he's playing well. And Rose will have his chances since Lebron will be pretty busy with Butler even if Lebron will always get his on the offensive end. Bottle up Kyrie from blowing up a cpl 30+ pt games and Lebron's face might contort back into some of those last Cleveland stint woe-is-me faces.

oh i definitely agree with all your points, i was still a little surprised at the odds though. well maybe less surprised now that it seems CP3 probably won't play game 1 (i think he's listed as questionable, but the line movement for game 1 seems to indicate he's unlikely to play).

i was actually hoping to bet on Chicago to win the series vs Cleveland, but i expected to be able to get better than +180 (Bovada), don't think there's any value at that price.

Well, I just came on to eat crow about the Clippers. They got it done.

I hope Houston beats'em and think they will, but it'll probably go 6 or 7.

Parlaying the favorites tonight (Cleveland, Houston) to win SU. Probably bad bet but it makes it fun :D

Hit big on a prop. Griffin over 24.5 points. Bricked him over 33.5 at +650 tho.

I got warriors at 20:1 to win the championship before the season started. Can't wait till that comes in

Shaq was my favorite athlete growing up, over the past few years it's really been kind of disheartening to learn he's a complete fucking idiot.

dat starting lineup. It's pretty friggin obvious that doc is playing his son because... hes his son. Austin should not be in NBA, despite playing with a low level d-leaguer clippers still won.. Blake is a beast.

If they keep allowng josh smith to shoot 3's, this series is not gonna go well. I didn't think clippers had a chance w/o Paul, blake just put the team on his back and lebronned them to the win.

Kind of incredible that a team of 6 people has got this far.

This is really a shock? At least Shaq can be entertaining in spots. Guy I could do without ever hearing talk again is Kenny Smith. That guy would be the biggest race baiter if they kept allowing him to talk about non-basketball stuff. Could be debatable if that's better anyways since his basketball analysis is terrible

Blake was pretty amazing. There were some pretty funny moments where Austin Rivers, the point guard...if you can call him that...gave up the ball like a hot potato to Blake to facilitate the play. And yet anyone rooting at all for the Clippers must've cheered when they saw the PG give up the ball to the PF at the reset of a play then run away from the ball.

Also bit of a reflection of a team led by Harden, Howard, and Josh Smith. That team had a ton of time to rest and be prepared yet came out and played like it was game 5 of the regular season against the Knicks or something.

i mean, i was 6-7 or something when i became a fan and my 'ideal' of him began, sports media was way different then and i just watched games/sportscenter highlights, his level of intelligence was not something i even thought about.

they're all terrible in terms of basketball analysis but they can still be enjoyable to watch. i mean they all agreed that the Cavs need to start Kendrick Perkins against the Bulls, lol. i don't know what the race-baiting thing is referring to, but Kenny is easily the smartest out of him/Shaq/Chuck and if it were somehow realistic i would bet unlimited dollars on him in an IQ test vs the other two (no that's not saying much). chemistry between Chuck and Kenny is what makes the show (and Ernie).

Fully agree.

Chuck says dumb things here and there as we all would as a result of speaking his mind without a political-correct filter on all the time, and isn't the most eloquent guy, but he is actually very wise and knowledgeable. On the other side of the coin, Kenny is more articulate but thinks he's much smarter than he is and is actually just your average media member drinking the race-problem koolade and contributing to a mentality of victimization and lack of personal responsibility that badly damages the black community in this country. Kenny Smith's socio-political talk is just a microcosm of the deep-rooted nonsense that we have going on as this ludicrous national dialogue narrative that makes it seem like we are still in the 50's pervades the daily news. His open letter to Chuck when the whole Ferguson bullshit was happening was absolutely disgraceful. Not to hi-jack and make this a political thread but I just want to fully co-sign what you are saying.

This coming from a Rocket's fan who owes 2 championships in small part to Kenny Smith.

GL with that garbage reality show you are putting out Kenny, I think you are about 5 years too late with that trash.

shaqs first year on TNT was so terrible. his spin off on shaqtin a fool saved him entirely. if anyone here knows what im talking about then you specifically remember countless awkward moments when he says something to be funny and everyone is silent, but when shaqtin a fool came on he was more in his element and would just laugh very loud at every single goof play and eventually he fit in the show.

i still remember his job being on thin ice during those times. its actually incredible that shaqtin a fool saved him cuz now since 2 years have passed u can see hes changed it up to where hes starting to give some analysis and fit in a bit. but still there are lots of awkward terrible moments where even ernie is urging him to stfu
