Memphis needs to slow down, this is a really bad pace for them. Which is kinda contradictory to the situation, when your behind 17 logically you should speed up tempo and take more risks, however that would favor GSW style of play. Prob impossible to comeback from this

yeah good defensive adjustments from Kerr making it tougher for Randolph and Gasol to get going in the post, and basically ignoring Allen.

Yah, well by the time I'm typing this they are down by like 25, but I fully agree. They would have needed to chip it away to like 8-10 at their own pace and then try to make a run and have the crowd boost them and the Warriors choke at the end. Not happening now.

You expect Curry/Thompson to get hot sometimes but Bogut disrupted so much offensively for the Grizz. Kerr doubling ZBO and Gasol in the post was a great counter too

This Clippers -2 1/2 line seems like a complete setup. Wonder if Houston's going to stick with the hack-a-Jordan in Game 5--I know all the analysts were saying it backfired but didn't he miss the majority of his free throws?

i think most analysts agreed it was effective aside from the mouthbreathers who speak on television

Hes shooting 42% free throws in playoffs (42% career), which is the equivalent of 84 points per 100 posession (Philledelphia which ranks 30th and averages 93/100, lakers are 24th and average 101/100, just to add perspective (Off Def Rating).) Only reason it didnt work is because Houston could not score at a rate higher then this with the lineup they had on the floor. Clearly a very +EV strategy, in fact if you have an unlimited anoumt of fouls to give, you would foul him 100% of the time all game. Also another note, when Houston does this strategy, James harden should play all 48 min, since while jordan is shooting free throws, he dosnt have to waste energy on defence, its basically the equivalent of a timeout break every other posession.

It wouldn't work on Shaq (in the long run) since he was a career 53% FT shooter. Since the standard deviation on his FT is so high teams can gamble by fouling him when they are behind.
ALso note clippers have a net offensive rating of 110/100 (although this includes playing garbage feeder teams) Against better competition it's prob 105 or so, in either case foulding jordan reduces it by ~20 points per possesion, which is absolutely absurd with respect to EV
