Twisted, it all depends on where they lived. In cold climates where there was no plants to be had it was mostly protein/fat, whereas the closer to the equater you get the consumption of carbohydrates reaches 35-40% of their total caloric intake.

Actually I see that I exaggerated a bit now. But still, 40% calories from carbohydrate is still plenty. Please realize that a paleo diet does not automatically mean a low-carb diet.

colorful veggies, lean meats, complex carbs and you're set to go

throw in some fruits here and there and try not to stuff your face.

Although i'm pretty bad at the part of not stuffing face but i tend to keep a fairly balanced diet overall nowadays.

Does prime rib qualify as a lean meat?

Can't remember name of the book but I have recco'd before.

Some stuff I remember and like:

-Eat Food, Mostly Plants, Not too much.
-Stay away from ingredients you can't pronounce or don't know what the heck they are.
-Eat what your great grandparents would eat and/or

Eat like the French, Italians, Japanese, Indians, SE Asians aka places with very long standing food cultures and recipes with a lot of fresh (local) ingredients. How you eat can be just as important as what you eat. Ideally always eat in good company. Break bread, socialize, laugh, take your time. Basically, don't just mindlessly gobble down large portions of shit in front of the tv.

I second sweet potatoes and more leafy greens (kale, dark-leaf lettuce, spinach, etc.) also asparagus, cucumbers, and broccoli.

I like to make a bunch of sweet potato wedges and then reheat them throughout the week. I just toss sp wedges in oil and paprika (u could surely use something else) and bake them @~400-450 for 20-30 min.

Why are sweet potatoes perferred over regular potatoes?

Wouldn't sweet potatoes contain more sugar/carbs?

Those eggs look straight off the shelf of a store, have you tried free-range eggs ? I find the ones i get from the market to be much better.
What is your experience with dark bread, brown rice and mushrooms?

Which type of coconut oil is good for you? What am i looking for if i go hunting for it.
Do you steam your veggies, do you have that rice cooker aparatus and how do you fry stuff? What kinds of pans do you use?
How much time do you spend on buying and preparing food in a week?

You can add fun recipes in your blogposts for others to try. Also, afaik carbs are ok as long as you are active.

OHh, the eggs are from hens that are only fed vegetables and greens. It is from the shelf, but it's catching on great in popularity in Norway. (But I do like the sound of buying em fresh in a marked straight from a farm much better. Although I'd check up on the farm. Important that they can run around n stuff too. Most of the time they are trapped. But really strict regulations n stuff about that in Norway, but not sure about other countries).

I also don't eat the whole egg, I only eat the yolk, to get all the nutrients n stuff. I toss away the white slimey stuff.

Dark bread makes me bloated, I react very badly to bread. If you're the skinny type, you get easier rashes, ailments, inflamation, acne, stuff like that. The other way to react is to become fat/obese.

Also feel my brain works like shit. I get no pleassure from mental work if I eat bad. I only want to masturbate, play games, and joke around.

Brown rice can be good for some I think, but it has A LOT of fructans, so that means, 30% or so of the population should stay away from it. It will make u feel like poo.

The rice I've felt the most with is a combination of wild rice and rice you cook longer. (I think rice you cook short is poo, since it's pre boiled, and most of the nutrients are gone).

I actually love mushrooms, so it pains me that I don't eat it. I heard a lot of speeches about it doing bad stuff, something about blocking leptin, lectin? or something like that. Didn't quite get it, but I opened 3-4 diet pages, and checked, at the top of my mind. On the Bulletproof one, Mushroom is as far into the redzone as you can get.

But then again, he have had some mistakes before. Like I know he's going to redo the diet, and move white rice a little more to the green, and brown a little more to the red. And he's moving potatoes a far to the left, toward the green zone xD

I spend a bit of time. But the potatoes I cook in large batches, and I seal them in some plastic jars, so I can just add them when making steaks or salmon much easier. So it just takes a bit of time the first time you make a batch.

The rice takes 20 minutes though, but I make enough for 2 meals, and I put half the rice in a plastic bag, and do the same trick I do with the potatoes.

I spend maybe 40 minutes a day or something on the actual food making I think (on average).

The coconut oil, it says Cocosa on the front side. And I dont react badly to that, its just pure energy xD

On the back, it says: Mct, 100% refined coconut oil, no milk, no gluten, no konserveringsmiddel (like, synthetic stuff, or something like that), nothing added.

The vegetables I have running in water while I make the food, and eat them raw. I add lemon to em lol. I have been thinking bout steaming. But not done it yet. I want to steam it with lots of butter or coconut oil lol. Nomnom.

And this one is important I think. I NEVER EVER FRY STUFF. I try never to go over 180 degrees. I don't barbeque or fry any of the food. I cook it through, it becomes sick tasty and juicy, but the smoke never comes up black, or making anything charred. If you do that you'll feel like shit after uve eaten it. You'll make things get all toxic like, and ur body will have to react. And that's not good. So cook it at lower heat.

As for pans, I'm not sure what type. But I went all out on it, it cost me 200 dollar. I told em, I'd use it several times a day, and I want the best. And I went in detail what kidn of foods I was mostly making. And they sold me a big heavy one lol.
Here's a picture of it:

And when it comes to carb. I am testing something new now. I know a lot of ppl say, go bonkers with carbs. But read some research on it. And it said that ur just lolling urself if you eat too much carb. I think somewhere around 500 - 700grams of calories from carbs is what you need a day. Anything over will just be a hassle for the body. Don't know if this is true for everyone or even accurate. But felt legit. I resonnate very well with sound. I'm pretty good at catching it with people are sincere. So think it might be worth testing. Just throwing it out there xD

(On a happier note, I have been thinking about getting into smoking some marihuana, n stuff like that. But never got around to it, all the places you do it, get hold of it in Mo I Rana is really, really dodgy. All the suppliers sell that, and they sell meth, cocaine, pills, prostitutes you name it. Don't really want to involve myself with anyone like that lol.

Anyway, I can only advise you to follow the paleo diet or a variant of it. You posted a link from Marksdailyapple, that dude knows his stuff. I'd say soak up everything he writes on that website and follow that rigidly. You'll see that the more you read, the more it makes sense even if it is against what most 'diet-guru's' would advise.

And like Drone said; only eat real food. That's basically what paleo is about as well. Bread doesn't grow on trees or walks about, it's not real food, thus it's unhealthy.

Eat:

- vegetables (lots of em)

Yay, I am, and I also try to hone in one the ones that are most nutrient dense. Like spinach n shit

- fruit (some, should be seen as a delicacy that you don't eat too often too much)

Yea, found that out. But felt it was cool to do some research to find out which one to stay away from. And focus a bit more on berries

- meat (grass-fed beef, organic chickens are obviously best but also expensive/hard to get)

Yea, I buy the meat fresh. Never in the shitty isle. And I have talks with the guy cutting it to make sure the animals are fed well n stuff xD

- fish (do some extensive research which type of fish are healthy because a lot of them are really unhealthy)

Ive done research on this as well. One of my best friends owns a big, huge company worth hundreds of millions. (Jacob pacob). And I have been questioning him about salmon a lot. The ones I buy are only out of the water for 4 hours before wrapped up. And its shipped immedeatly, and they eat crazy good

- starch only if you're doing sports that day. You don't need starch if you're just walking/sitting about. You only need starch if you have to do intensive excercises. Best type of starch is probably sweet potatoes. Otherwise, regular potatoes aren't too bad.

Allergic to sweet potatoes, but I found a nice Mandel type. It's got short duration, so it's less likely to get bacteria, mold n stuff. I feel really good after eating them. I have read recently about studies saying starches have a good effect on different diseases and illnesses. And since I react very well to potatoes, I think I need em

- Extra virgin olive oil, palm oil, coconut oil, grass fed butter (do NOT use margarine, that stuff among other vegetable oils has caused heart disease to be almost non-existant to the #1 killer of mankind in the last 100 years).

mm, *Nod*. That's how I Roll, fuck yeah

- Nuts and nut oil. Don't cook in nut oil, it gets radical and raunchy, really unhealthy. Just drizzle it over your salad if you like that stuff. Peanuts are not nuts btw.

After that it all depends on how strict you want to follow it.

Anyway, I'm not gonna enter any discussions because we've had these topics before. I'll just say; soak up marksdailyapple.com and whenever you buy something in the store, ask yourself this; is this real food? And avoid E621 (MSG, mono sodium glutamate, taste enhancer) like the plague.

It would be a very short lived discussion in that case xD (Did you know that discussion came from latin, and it kinda means argue lol?).

Since I agree with 99,3% of what you said xD

(I just taken some Mark advices that's really burned me, but it wasnt his fault, it was me, for eating something with fructose in lol). But at the time I blamed him for not having a warning LOL. But he is awesome. And he's friends with a few of the other guys I read and listen to. So it's all good xD

posted everything before reading the thread, and just read it now. basically what drone said. just eat natural foods, dont overdo sugars or meats.

Just quoted this one, since it was a lot shorter than your long one.

I lolled, you're head is kind of where I am. A bit confused, but it seems to me you're doing better than most people on the planet when it comes to eating habits. So don't think you have to worry. I took the stupid approach. Where I literally almost had to die before I got to my senses and figured out I had to educate myself more about what I put in my food.

(When talking to a mate of mine who's not that bright, about food. I had to "tone it down" a bit. And I cleverly said something along the lines of this:

Think of a pretty hot/slutty girl. She likes to party, she likes to dress all slutty, go out, shake her moneymaker. But when it comes to which cock she wants, ohh noo, now she gets all picky, and she wants a certain kind. She wants there to be emotions, all kinds of crap.

But when it comes to what food she puts in here, the shit that merges with the body, enhances us, builds us up. Fuels our brain with energy, make new cells n shit like that. Anything goes. She dun care what she stuffs down her pie hole. Even if it's poison, if it makes her feel good, anything goes.

I think I really moved him, and it hit a core. Cus now he's "pestering" me all the time on facebook, asking what to buy next, telling me how awesome it is.

Ok, that had nothing to do with what I was going to say to you lol.

Where was I... Yea. I kinda dibbed around in almost the same diets as you. The biggest shocker at the start was finding out that excess fruit spiked your insulin, and it really fucked you up. So that whole thing "at least 5 fruit a day" was a big scam lol.

When I first started getting in trouble. I got put on a diet by my doctor with 5-10 fruits a day. I was literally throwing up, puking, all kinds of ailments. I was in a very dark place. I lost weight, I slept for 15 hours a day.

So pretty confused and a little scared that the people who are suppose to know better know so little lol. But I started reading, and found out pretty quit my body hated the fructose shit.

The slow carb diet sounds pretty good. But I don't like the sell out part at the end, one cheat day at the end of the week. That's bullshit I think. I think that's to get people on it, and stick on it. Some way to "trick" and have people chasing a carrot if they don't have the willpower/disipline to stick with a good diet.

I think it's much better to experiment with the healthy food, and find recepies, make that food taste amazing, instead of wasting a day, + you probably get drawbacks for the next few days. (But like Drone said, I'm way over thinking it xD).

I'm not sure how old the paleo diet is, but I think I heard about it in 2004. But I think it's like. When that came it was probably better than most normal diets. And then you have lots of bright people all over the planet (Like that Mark guy, who Twisted think is so hawt n sexy). Are testing it, looking at it. Then improving it, doing more reserach. Cleansing out the mistakes, and adding in better stuff.

That Dave Asprey guy, even said it himself. He looks at his diet as Paleo 2.0. Since his idea (probably not his LOL). Was to take that diet, then remove all the things which had anti nutrients, and too high toxin levels. Stuff like that. And stuff that made your insulin spike too high, something about the leptin/lecin. Which I still don't get. But it's got something to do with your brain and is really important n stuff lol.

One of the hardest things I've ever done was cut out dairy and grains. I literally became extremely depressed. I was almost shaking. I could at will get tears in my eyes. Every inch of my body wanted to drink cold milk, have a slice of bread. Some pasty. But I read that it circulates in your bloodstream, is in your body for quite a while, the residues from it. And you think you "love" it. But it's a trick.

I think I struggled for about a month, maybe just 3 weeks. Maybe just wrote a month to sound more badass than I really was. But I think I know how it must feel to cut out heroin, cut out alcohol if you're an alcoholic now lol. So fucking hard (pardon my language).

I really like your Shake thingy, I get all jealous. Can't drink that. But I really feel in my stomach, that apples are bad for people. So remove the apple, put another one which is awesome. And I think it'll be even better xD (But you don't have to, if you like apple, I won't judge!!).

I am, I am testing a way to cure it naturally. Why all the supplements. And I have a list of more supplements I need a clear go signal from my doctor before I take action. I also have written up all the stuff about gut flora to give to my doctor. I have appointment today at 13:15.

I also subscribe to an IBS forum, and I am spending a bit of time learning about adrenal fatigue. I have spent maybe 50.000 hours playing video games, and maybe 15.000 hours masturbating to internet porn. So maybe they are a little fucked up.
