3rd place.

17.5k

I got 5700.

Paid off my a debt to my father for 1618.
Paid off my rent for this month and next month.
Paid off a debt to my step mother for 916.

Kept a lil over 2k, going to chop mtt's with my dad and he will buy up to 70% in any 1k, or stake me with the same deal as the past if I want to freeroll it most likely as he'd always want to make more as well.

long grueling mtt - great learning experience - many pros came out, good strong field, happy to get what i got, going to grind another week of online cash before going to the live cash arena, maybe 2-3 more weeks online before casino. its no rush, but will be playing a lot of live days cg's and mtt's. just 1/2 (bring 300 - 2 150 bi's in a 1/2 game is fine for most 8 hour days, usually never have to rebuy in a 1/2 game)

So ya thats what happened whats going on it really sucks, 2nd was 28k and that woulda really fucking helped my life a ton and paid off a ton of debts..

oh well, close to busto, on the way to robusto i hope, been back on my own dime broke for a couple weeks, now im rollin again, just took me going to a good mtt.

waiting on finding a car thats decent as well which is a lil stressful in the cash situation but i've been here before, am invited to a ton of great games in buffalo salamanca and altoona, and know of all the mtt's going on within a 100 mile radius pretty much.

Just grind er away and hopefully be at my higher self, and best player that I can be come next wsop etc;

one step at a time from here.

Ryan

my dads going 50/50 with my $ on every mtt around for now on with that 2150 and im sure if something bad were to happen, he'd just stake me. I'll keep playing my best, tons of 109s and 215s and even 60s and 70s. Probably 10 MTT's a month here and Hero online, although you can't even do a Player Transfer there anyfuckingmore and can only cashout 2500 a month which is complete utter bullshit. - I'll aim for 3.6k a month there and cashout 2500 a month there.

I'll take my time and look to have maybe 10k with a good november.

I crashed my car last week. I should get my insurance payment this week.

Need to get a little car good on gas for cheap, maybe get an extra grand out of that.

probably get 1 debt paid off here.

pops is gonna split and buy 70% up to any 1k with me, finding tons of live mtt's, going to buffalo turbos every saturday $220 or w/e, 5-7k first, 85 ppl or so.

found a few other good mtt's, a good 300 deepstack, and 1k in pittsburgh.

Local live MTT casino has mtt's Sundays too, First Tuesday of the Month and First Wednesday of the month are here. Last Saturday of the month I think in Erie, not too sure what Les said..gotta check that out.

When I get my new ride I'll start going.

I'll continue to grind out pure cash games on hero since you can't cashout over 2500 a month, use my player points do run like 3r's and just watch a movie and own them for 600 etc here n there as well I assume.

MTT's live, maybe a few cheap easy mtt's on hero too, but no reason to risk shit when you can't cash out over 2500$. I think its a hard pill to swallow for tons of USA grinders that saw no reason to relocate or that are stateside.

ok well, im frustrated as fucking hell, I was a lil too deep to stack off in that situation I think, but I don't really see how I can play it differently, other than flatting to own his Tx/weak Ax hands post + prolly coulda just outplayed him post on alot of boards if I missed etc. Someone called in the cooler!

i learned a large lesson in this mtt. the payjumps were fucking huge.

12k, 17.5k, 28k, 45k.

Was a really good experience....the emotional rollercoaster was running at a high level, I was on swinging hard from 1.2 - 1.7k and sometimes to 900k, doing everything possible to get the win...

One tiny mistake that late is just unacceptable and not to be tolerated.

GG

Live....Learn....Hope the road is a smooth nice cruise.

Thousands of cashgame hands played lately, I'll play some 1/2 on days sometimes too most likely idk, bi @ 150 and stop loss 300, 10am - 7pm sounds about right, 8 hour sessions and lunch.

Panicy mind right now to say the least.

God im frustrated as shit.

I need to take a couple days off atleast most likely, find a hottie to give me a massage or something.

i ran it by him, said 15% itm, 25% ft, 33% top 3, 40% 2nd, 50% 1st.

Was a lifechanging moment.

Really sucked.

Learned a ton, made some really good plays and reads..

Made some great friends and got reads on how these guys play around here, my first time on the live scene here in 2 years.

Hoping for the best, going to look to make my BR work for my benefit by selling 50-80% of my action to my father to keep the monies in the family and hopefully in my pocket.

'my dads going 50/50 with my $ on every mtt around for now on with that 2150 and im sure if something bad were to happen, he'd just stake me.'

I got a question. And I don't want this to come off as just a flame or something. Curiosity maybe. If you crashed and burned...eventually getting staked by your father and burning through his $$ on a bad tournament run (MTTs. Shit happens...even if you don't tilt), would you feel genuinely bad in a different way since you lost your father's money? Or simply be able to shrug it off with that whole 'oh well lesson learned, look to the future' vibe you got going on as bad tournament variance and explain it to him like you would to a normal backer, someone at least mildly competent in the poker world. On the same token, if you're in the midst of a bad run on your father's money, would you be able to play w/o that assumed extra mental stress effecting your play?

I am not entirely sure how after your millions of MTTs you didn't realize how big the pay jumps are at a FT and since those pay jumps are super important to your present needs, why you didn't realize that flipping when deep is a bad idea when they are going to spew in so many other ways.

Again, I have no idea how you didn't realize this, but anyways now at least you do?

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time

Is 12k your largest single tourney win so far? And I mean yeah, you got like 2k to your name now, thats all yours to keep. A bankroll to grind NL100 with. You need to spread your roll across several merge skins to avoid the $2500 limit, unless thats against the rules or something. At least try to play on as many sites as allowed for USA players so you can be cashing out $2500 from multiple sources at once. Have you given Bovada a chance yet? You seem to do well in the short hit n run type games, where nobody has any reads on you and have trouble adjusting to your loose style. Bovada doesnt allow HUD's so this could be to your advantage. I dont mean literally hit n run, but 1 hour sessions as an anonymous player are probably your strong points. If you think about it, your avg tourney nets you something like 150-200 hands right? Thats about 1 hour at a cash game table online, before you start to crumble.

12k is my 4th largest score I believe, maybe 3rd or 5th.

I'm going to continue grinding hero out 2500 a month and that will sustain my living expenses.

I have a couple grand that will actually act as 4-7k going 50/50 to 20/80 depending on bi's etc.

I'm just going to go around playing tons of tournaments and playing online cash on days theres nothing going on.

Idk its to early to tell, these are my genuine thoughts in order, i don't preview ore edit, i just type what i feel etc, i wish i flatted and just owned him post. i don't know why i 3bet that AT, i was 3betting a large range vs him and owning him all day, game was so stagnant for about 2 hours with very little happening, seemed right.......sucks when your wrong =[

its like 92% correct online and sucks when the 8% happens.

In the live arena, you can focus more on the singular hand and cut that 8% down.

w/e the real %'s are who cares, just sayin.

oh well fucking sucks.

i really wanted that win so bad, woulda really changed my life.

rent paid...lil bit of a bankroll, and my dad gambles a ton, he loves it, he knows i've been grinding over 9 years and have traveled the world, he doesn't mind going 50/50 or buying higher %'s. hes been gambling for over 30 years. I am from a family of gamblers on my mothers and fathers side.

kim the mental stress of playing for him in this 1k was alot more than a weeklong downswing on stars for like 20k lol.

now that i have a few bucks, the stress is off. theres no way my dad would allow me go over 5k in makeup for him, unless its 5k then like the main event, he really wants me in next year.

I believe I should do very well grinding out just any dollars I can find, I'm surrounded by casinos, where I am currently living (20 mins, 1.2 hrs, 1.3 hrs, 3 hrs, 4hrs, 7 hr AC etc)

but thats cuz went all out setting it up for a great experience for me, with the room and being really great about the whole thing. he knows me really well, kept me even keel the whole time etc. Hes a great mental coach for me and is there with me each step of the way we're texting back n forth and calling on breaks.

He watches me grind sundays for weeks and has seen me have some impressive results chillin on the couch etc, he knows I play wellz.

My life is really just me in my house now. Waiting to get a new car. I have a couple grand lol......

I'll try to game select well, sell high % pieces in tons of mtt's, attend all the good ones that I can, and hope for good results.

If I went into mu or w/e in the worst case, I'm sure he'd just loan me a few bucks as he always has, and I'd pay him back. We're lookin to work together here though.

Newb, I've won my last 30 hours of cash online.

I've been a fucking machine beast when I grind 6max.

Refraining from posting graphs cuz everytime I do i get fucked lol.......I just play NL4-Nl50 though lol, and only grind cash online to make sure I'm as sharp as can be for deepstack play etc.

n yeah...stacking off that AT there kinda sick, but then again I 3bet at such a high clip that its really not bad at all, really unlucky what I ran into and how she ran out. Completely crushed his range, his reship range and had the nut redraw and trip redraw. Game flow.

Ne ways - ego loves to bitch.

Which of the following is true:

From this blog:

and from your Facebook:

ill answer it for you...

You got 3rd, for $17.5k. Which as part of your staking deal with your dad meant you were entitled to 33%. which means you actually won $5775.

+ Show Spoiler +

Youre not trying to avoid paying your debt are you Ryan?

Seems a little unusual for a professional poker player to not be able to recall the place he finished in a tournament (that day), especially when that score apparently represented one of his biggest cashes ever.

I look forward to hearing your response.

I found a link to the Payout sheet for the Seneca Fall Poker Classic:

https://docs.google.com/open?id=1iGlc...nlVmD0pS-UXkcN3bjetgwWvXJgklenvAffSkK

With 171 entrants (as Neilly stated in another blog post), 4th place is 7.5% and 3rd place is 10.2%. So he either won $12,825 for 4th or $17,442 for 3rd. I feel like Neilly is more likely to lie to us than his FB friends so it's probably the latter.

At this point, I'd also begin to question how much Neilly really has to give back to his dad. If he's lying about his finish he's probably lying about how much his "Dad" is letting him keep. Either way, people he is in debt to are getting screwed.

Hopefully the actual results of the tournament get published soon.

i have a lil over 2k to go 50/50 with my dad on.

i didn't want to have to explain all this when i didn't think it would matter, i explained it to my dad on the way home and he said just say you got 4th.

doesnt really matter its all close enough to the truth anyways, i have a small bankroll and going to look to build it up and keep working on hero, not like i have enough to send out if i intend on working.

if u call making 130k+ in the last 12 months a problem, then you're an idiot in my eyes sir.

i just got on my own like 2 weeks ago and had no cash, my dad put me in this, now i have a small br, u guys act like this shit happens over night, i almost had the fucking win.

i didn't, i paid my family debts and rent to save my fcking ass for this and next month and have enough to hopefully do good.

if things went bad i can always do a number of jobs, im not only talented at poker, but this is the route I will take as far as it takes me.

naw but seriously, a couple months live grinding and 2500 a month on hero is fine, i'm atleast on my way now, that didn't matter to much, i had to keep what i was left with, not like i can afford to send out a br under $2500.

i might keep 2k if i got the exact 12.4k or w/e, and pay them when i flip it to 4k, thats about as scummy as i'd be when it truly comes down to it.

im a good guy, im not tryin to hurt anyone, i just wanted to make it more simple, lol, byrn burned a white lie that didn't really matter at all, I shoulda just explained I got 3rd and had to pay them off first obviously, as you guys would obviously pay your parents first if you owed them.

I hope you realize you just look like a compulsive gambler trying to rationalize the shit out of his wrongdoings. I hope you do eventually pay back the debts but I don't think any of those people are expecting to see their money any time soon.

Some people may not agree with me on this, but I think involving your father in your warped poker world, vesting financially in you, and perhaps even half truthing him is worse than just flat out completely messing up a stake from someone in the poker world, who are fully aware (don't care how much your dad 'loves gambling'...it's not the same thing) of the risks/consequences. Not saying you did the latter. Don't know don't care. What I was getting at earlier I guess...involving your family...it's just a bit beyond depressing no matter what rationalization you have.

what part of your history in cash games made you think this was a good decision? (i'm assuming you mean 1/2 online)

Gotta admit, woulda been pretty sweet if you had just dumped the 17.5k to your backer. Probably woulda snap-backed you again for another 20k at a more reasonable rate so you can play bigger games on a regular basis. Now you're still stuck meddling around in whatever you can afford on a day to day basis without knowing what the next month is going to bring.

bye now

You're a disgrace.

I like your shameless edit of the original post in the hope that people don't notice what a scumbag you are.

I don't buy your story for a second. You talk about how you "understand the business side of poker" and then make up some bullshit story that you thought it would be better to lie about finishing 4th so you didn't have to "explain it all". Really you were trying to avoid paying any money to people.

You weren't caught in a white lie, you were caught in an outright lie.

I also had a fairly good idea of what your response was going to be and you didn't disappoint. It came as no surprise that the debt you owed to your immediate family members came out to be exactly that of the extra money you had previously tried to hide.

This is exactly what you're doing. You're playing NL200 with your winnings. A game you cant beat.

Just admit that you have no intention of paying back your debt. It didnt matter if you won this tournament or not, you had no intention of paying anyone money.

If you really had any interest in paying people, you would have cut a deal with your parents to pay them back later, since you're embarking on a staking deal with your dad. Allowing you to use that money to pay back people who have now been waiting the best part of a decade.

Good to see youve got your priorities right and are making a real effort to get people paid back.

up to 1/2, mostly nl50-nl100, i'm solid enough to win at nl200 most the time as well, when im rolled for it from the bi's on the way up, i believe i'll fly that game, then again little reason to play it w/ a 2500 cashout max per month, low risk high reward stuff mostly

so ya prolly ceiling at nl100 online and see where it goes live etc

When you took out your last 2:1 loan to buy a car to move to Canada and subsequently 'totaled it' a couple of days after purchase, did you actually total it? or did you just take the cash, lose it gambling, make up the story, then take another loan so you could go to Costa Rica.

honest answers only, so please don't consult your dad for the answer.

Wow. Neat little development.

I can totally understand why you would have so many backers lining up around the block willing to stake you like you claim. Normally lying like this would effect your reputation but since yours is non-existent I guess it doesn't matter.

You're right though, history doesn't lie.

Great to see your dad has fuck all ethics either, know where you get it now. Sounds like you two really wrestled with a moral dilemma involving backers who have forfeited thousands of dollars to you and are still waiting on payments after years.
