does 78s really have a much better playability UTG or MP than 23s or 34s?

i was thinking that, if your opponents flat a lot with Axs, when you have 23s and you hit a straight (flop or turn), it will sometimes be with an A on the board, the other guy will have TP and won't fold to 3 barrels;
but when you hit a straight with 87s, you won't get paid often with Ax

well of course this is balanced by the better pairs that 78s does but i don't know

^ You are forgetting how many more straights that 78s can make. 23s can only make the wheel and idiot ends of straights.

Don't open 34s UTG.

After all is said and done, more is said than done.

people play too loose utg and too tight in later positions imo.

18/19/26/80/44. off the top of my head, that's nanonokos opening ranges from early position to the SB.

Seems weird to me that he can open 44% from sb and at the same time only opens 26% from co.

lebowski   Greece. Mar 29 2012 10:25. Posts 9205

maybe it's because there are 3 ppl left to 3bet you from the co

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

its ok to open once in a while if your UTG range is percieved to be strong and people wont fuck with it, obviously you can completely remove it from your UTG range too.

you can get away with a lot of shit at midstakes. i know of a very winning reg that opens 97% on sb even when im 3betting him all the time. And then there are regs like schmeff who play 30/40/60/75/60 and no one attempts to 3bet him a shit ton ip even though he opens any 2 suited from early positions.
