if you know he has a pair
usually at worst he will have just an overpair here, often your up against a set or a straight already, both of which you are dogs to. going vs sets and straights for stacks in unraised pots is generally a bad idea, but your hand is still power and i suppose i could never fault this play.
secondly
do not play j6 preflop it is not a good hand

ok. well i was almost sure he had AA the way he played it preflop.and he was fairly quiet the whole time. i called knowing he had AA. he was protecting his hand, usually people with straights dont go all in like that at those limits.

but youre right this hand sucks. and i coudda been up against a straight also.

tnx for the comments.

You were a favourite on the flop, but pf this is always a fold. And I have no idea how you could put him on AA if he just minraises, add the fact that it's 10NL.

Well. It was a hunch, but they all do that. On a suited or connected board, often times (not all) they don't care and go all in with AA, KK QQ. no matter what is on the board.

And when they have straights they dont go all in, they tend to slow play it. But I know who the regulars are at NL 10 and he isn't one of them. The fact that he couldn't care less that the board was connected and that I had reraised his initial raise by going all-in like that.

He probably wasn't even aware of the connectedness of the board.

But i he coudda have had a set also. Also. It's like oh I have AA, I'm so excited I'm going all in. That's the mentality he went through I think.
