how to play quads with an EXACT read on your opponents hand... i figured that he had either 9's or T's, but since i had 79, it was very unlikely for him to have 99. which is why i decided to bet $10.10... you like that? |

No I don't like it at all. 1) How long have you been playing with him to have such an EXACT read on him? My guess is that you just happened to be right when his range was exactly much wider than you thought. 2) Even if your read was in fact exactly right, your having 79 only reduces his chances of having 99 by 50%, from 6 combos to 3, and with 6 combos of TT that means he has a total of 9 combos. So 33% of the time he will still have 99. Not "very unlikely" at all. 3) Just because you think he has only TT doesn't mean you should get cute with your bet sizing and let him know you have it lol. The whole point of the game is to get the most money out of people, and you definitely didn't do that here. He is never folding river if you shove. You missed value. But at least now he knows you have a read on him! |
