Ok so I was at a home game where there was a question on the low hand
Player1 has A,2,3,5,8 as a low hand
Player2 has 2,3,4,5,7 as a low hand
Who wins this pot?

Poll: Who wins
(Vote): Player 1
(Vote): Player 2
(Vote):
now the only thing that differs from a normal PLO/8 hand is that they see the nut low as A,2,3,4,6 (cause they say the A,2,3,4,5 is a straight not low hand) So who wins this and explain...i know we have some great PLO players here so i would like some input
Thanks

lol, PLO/8b must suck in a game where the nuts is not actually the nuts.
Get them to read the rules or something.
if you rank the cards from large to small for example : 6, 5, 3, 2, A or 7, 4, 3, 2, A
should be quite obvious that lowest number wins |

A2345 counts as lowest possible low hand as well as a straight for high
low hands are calculated starting from the highest card |

this
go find a home game where they use the actual rules instead of shipping pots to whoever they want.

Pretty sure you look at it from the highest card perspective. In the example you give, A2358 loses to 23457 because we have 8 high vs 7 high. 7 high is obviously lower and thus wins the hand. If we have A2358 and 23458 for example then A2358 wins because the 8 and 5 are the same while the 4 high and 3 high plays with the 3 being lower. |
