his understanding of poker is pretty bad hes just very good at the big live tournaments and has developed his game accordingly

in a cash game with the other big players he is definitely a fish, but tbh anyone saying shit about his tournament game ispretty much an idiot

it requires a lot of balls to insist he is when players who play professionaly for years are telling you he isnt, and not only that, but that he is a terrible poker player

the reason I'm an asshole is stated above, but the message I am trying to get across, more gently, is that every post I've seen you make has honestly pointed me to thinking that you are very immature in your approach to 'do what you want to do' ie play poker, and that you haven't put forward the initiative to actually research your new passion, develop a good understanding for the rules governing the game (Statistics), and really become a poker player. in cash games the guy's just so weak tight, and bluffs mostly at the worst possible spots with terrible sizing, and im just playing lowstakes, i can imagine how many leaks he's got in the minds of people who play 400nl up

Anyway,

Hellmuth is a great player in the tournaments he plays, but the point people are trying to make about hellmuth not being the best player in the world, is that not everyone cares to play every tiny WSOP event and try to win bracelets.

There are a good number of players where if you set them across the table from hellmuth in a cash-game freezeout he would be a significant underdog in various forms of poker, but he does very well in the one form of poker that hes famous for - live tournaments.

I guess the equivalent to saying Hellmuth is the best poker player in the world, would be like saying a good drag-car racer is the best driver in the world.

is he using meglomaniac incorrectly in that video?
