wow. jumping from the 2s to the 100s easily in a matter of 3 months?
that's a pretty tall statement.
assuming you have a winrate of roughly 7-12%, what's your monthly profit? in fact, to make it easy - what's your typical ROI, and over how many games weekly?
that's quite the pitch is all i'm trying to say.
that's like me saying i can teach a 2nl 6maxer to be able to play nl100 within 3 months "EASILY"
you beast you |

The 100s do look very very soft, something to look forward to
i ran 10-12 $6 HU sng's before and won every single one, they're pretty easy |

Really aggressive bankroll management. I'd get into it but all the information is our there, you just have to look.
Volume-wise, I currently play maybe 10-15 games a day, tops, but I try to review every one. So really low volume/low sample stuff. (I forgot to mention in my blog all of that is for the Ironman bonuses that add up to ~11% aggregate rakeback. Nice side effect is I've found my sessions are a lot more focused because I know this is the only time I get to play poker.)
I have no idea what my true winrate is with all the swings (I think I actually have a -roi right now at the turbos), but the ITM number I've been using for all of my calculations has been 5%. My roi should be 5-10. I mixed in shootouts too, and the variance there is like, squared or some shit.
4 months is no kind of sample, so I can't really answer that. Check Epinephrine4 on FTP. I started late September...I think November or December was my first 1k+ month (counting rakeback). I think I'm up 500 + 200ish rakeback so far for January.

I guess I'll reply to the rest in point form:
-I hope I'm not coming across as someone who thinks he'd be a great coach. I admit I have no experience right from the outset. If you want to extrapolate that to "I don't know how to coach", sure.
-The winrate stuff is all subjective, but I honestly believe the timeframe I've outlined is possible. Yes, you can be better than me and run bad for a month, but so can anyone. This is my opinion, and you're welcome to disagree.
-I tried to make it clear with the "two blog posts" thing, that the silly hands had nothing to do with the coaching portion of it. I just thought it would be interesting to add. I'm not trying to "show my skill level" at all.
Regarding the cash example:
I think 2nl to 100nl 6max is completely different than 2$s-100$s HUSNGs. Again, only my opinion, but if I were to quantify the jump from $55s to $200s..…we're talking the move from 10nl to 25nl. (Note that this doesn't mean the 55s = 10nl. I mean the difference in skill level ) |
