So I am bored and decided to set very specific goals and guidelines for poker this summer. Here it is:
Start with $1k at 50NL – Complete 40 Buyins at 200NL before Fall Semester begins
Make 40 Buyins at each Level before moving up
50NL=$2k
100NL=$4k
200NL=$8k
400NL=$16k
Each time I complete a level, I will have 30-35 Buyins for the next level
Stop/Loss set at 20% of Buyins at each 10 Buyin point
30 Buyins – 6 Buyin S/L
40 Buyins – 8 Buyin S/L
50 Buyins – 10 Buyin S/L
etc...
Each time I move up a level, I start at a 6 Buyin Stop/Loss – Every 10 Buyins I make at that level, my Stop/Loss increases 2 Buyins.
Not too sure about the Stop/Loss bit, but it seems relatively safe so I guess ill just go with it unless someone has better suggestions.
As far as tournaments go, I am looking for a summer staking deal. The tournaments I am willing to play:
Any freezeouts $50+
Any rebuys $11+
Deal would be standard 50/50 with makeup.
FTP: Readmyline
Stars: sooon2b
I have done reasonably well for my past backers (Sappy123/Sapster, rnbsalsa)
Like I said, I would prefer this to be for the duration of the summer. If anyone is interested, shoot me a PM. If anyone feels the need to flame, please don't waste your time.
Thanks for reading,
Pat
P.S - I am roughly through 20 buyins at 50NL since May 9th

dont agree with that stoploss idea
should be like 4 buyins or 5 max and like 1-2 while shot taking |

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN | |

you think a consistent 5bi stop/loss would be better, regardless of bankroll? |

yeah 4bi stoploss is enough imo. easy to win back when u move back down, so you get more frequency at your attempts at moving up |

yes
4 buyin stop loss regardless of limit b/c any more than that will affect you mentally more over too small a period (1 session) so id say 4 max maybe 5 because v.few people play their A+ game after losing that much (no disrespect, its your decision)
also 1-2 buyin shots while trying to move up is so sick, u can potentially move up so quickly or u can just lose 2 buyins which is pretty reasonable to recover which would be equiv to a 4 buyin stop loss at previous limit too |

im playing NL100 for hopefully only like a few more days til i win another 1k or so then NL200 FR again. gotta get that confidence back and appease myself by winning 20 buyins. i agree with ggplz n others that i think 6 BI is a LOT to take shots with. good to have things planned out tho and have a set guideline to go by. |

agree w ggplz about having a smaller S/L while taking shots, because while moving up it can really affect your game..
good luck! |
