Played around 800 hands today. Went up ~$100. The good news...i've finally reached the 3k mark on UB (3300-3400 including rakeback). Can't tell you how good it feels to be building a solid BR. Last few times i'd get upset and cash out a thousand here and there and leave my BR pretty meager. My goal of 4k before August 22nd stands, should be easily attainable (knock on wood). So i'll start 100NL when I reach 4k. Hopefully by xmas i'll be at 200NL. 200NL is a place i'd like to stay at for a year or so. I think that's the first limit where I can significantly improve my game, so i'd like to take advantage of that to the fullest. Hopefully i'll be getting drunk tonight. Cheers.

i was at 200NL for 6 months and i agree. its definitely a stake where u can improve ur game a ton. Then again i think i heard tom say he stayed at 50NL for a while and improved his game a ton there. So maybe its just the fact that you put in alot of hours and really put an effort into improving.

GL man :D

I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by running away from the scene of an accident.

Why are you not playing NL100 with over 30 buyins?

Hm.. Off-suite socks..

Because I took a long break from poker so i'm trying to get back into a groove. Also, 4k makes me feel safe.

That's some tight bankroll management, and i think staying at 200nl for a year, regardless of what happens is pretty stupid. Move up when you have the bankroll, 30 buyins is a solid figure to move up with, since you're rusty i guess 40 is OK for now, but really at 100nl/200nl where swings are not that big there's no need to be so tight with BR management. The faster you move up the faster you'll improve your game, there's simply no reason play at a stake for an entire year just "to improve", I mean you're likely to be having 80+ buyins for 200nl EASILY by 2009, even if you don't run that well, and you'll really be slowing yourself down.

I understand. I guess i'll re-evaluate if/when I get there. I just don't want to move up too quickly, I like to feel as if i'm dominating my limit.
