Have you guys ever noticed how some plays grow and decrese in popularity in the hand discussion forums?
A while back everybody hailed to potcontrolling the turn. Check behind! Blocker bet! I fucking love the smell of potcontrol in the morning!!!
After that monsterpoker was the new shit and we all just wanted to push everything into everyone, always.
Now finally, monster poker has given in to the new hip bet/fold and the dreaded minraise. Im not sure why, maybe since "bet/fold" has grown to be accepted as a phrase, and it sounds way cooler than "uhm bet the turn and then who knows?"
Seems like c/c is never even mentioned unless its in spite, and whenever somebody finds themselves in a strange spot with a monster theres always atleast one that suggest a fucking minraise.
I would like to point out that I have nothing against bet/folding but I do infact hate minraising. Anyways, all opinions about the plays aside we have to face it, bet fold is definitely the new black.
Good night.

it's because the games have changed a lot, so since everybody is playing looser and more aggressively, everyone has had to get better at value betting thin (bet/fold lines) and doing sharp handreading
and those who couldn't keep up moved down to 1/2 ~_~ |

i think every good poker player should have every single move in his arsenal.
The trends depend on who's posting advice. Time's change...rek left for awhile. |

pitf is right... however the mini-raise "trend" was shattered when Rekrul posted how idiotic it was. |

Probably that he who minreraises has a small penis.
I can't stand minreraises. WTF BET LIKE A MAN WITH A BIG NICE PENIS AND BALLS OF ZEE SWEDISH STEEL!
Also, why the fuck would you minreraise!? You'll give odds to everyone including Satan himself AND his mother. |

minraise trend? never heard ofa ny minraise trend
there are lots of spots where minraising is very obviously useful. i just minraised a guy today with Q high on a 4-flush board, minraising isn't a strategy or anything even close to it, it's just really situational and player-dependent
ffs it's just a small raise, not a "trend" |

Haha, I used to hate the minraise, but it's become one of my favorite plays against certain players. Minraising over-aggro players to induce a push has been one of my most profitable plays as of late. I still hate the minraise in small pots though, or preflop. |

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN | Last edit: 14/06/2007 19:18 |
