If anyone has any clout over there, and think this is a good idea feel free to post it.

I think with all the different casting personalities, it would be pretty awesome to have a tournament that just invites casters and have some of the pros cast for this tournament. Think it would be a pretty good side event and can add to a large event like IPL.

also would like to see some of the casters fail miserably (aka khaldor bronze level vs rotterdam grandmaster)

sounds great.. I just started playing sc2, I'm a noob, but I'm realy enjoying day9 and Apollo videos on youtube + they posted (I belive) on liquidpoker so it's kinda cool to watch them

Rotterdam/Mr Bitter do have a few showmatch type things out there. They're leagues ahead of any other caster but I'm curious to see how the others rank.

This has been discussed to death and will never happen. The top "casters" that claim to be really good players would never want to play because they only have something to lose. They either show that they are how good they claim to be or they get stomped and look like shit.
