I feel Im really playing better than ever. Over the holidays I have been playing alot of HU and its sooo profitable, geez theres alot of easy money in the HU tables. People just dont know how to play. Since I will probably be playing 2/4 for the following months I definitely expect to be one of the biggest winners on both HU and 6-max.
Bah! I feel like dropping out of school again. I went back studying because only playing poker destroyed my sleeping schedual and just fucked with my social life in general. But now, Im starting to wonder if this really is better. Im studying journalism and it just bores the hell out of me. I feel that they dont teach me anything and school is just robbing me of time to do other things I would much rather do. There are tons of books I want to read that arent part of the school litterature, and I want to play tons of poker.
At the same time, I dont want to play poker for the rest of my life, I also dont want to start educating myself at 30 when all my classmates will be 20~. Another downside of dropping out is that my parents definitely will panic, and as they panic so will I.
I guess the most important thing I have realized in all this is that I really dont want to become a journalist, not like I have a good alternative but I just feel journalism isnt a profession that interest me at all.
Im 22 years old and I dont know what I want to do with my life. Surprise?
As some of you might already have known, my grandma passed away on Jan 1st at 5am after a month of treatment for her lung cancer. I spent most of New Years Eve with her and she just looked like she was suffering so much, so in a way I'm relieved she found her peace. On a side note --> Some of you might not have known, but smoking 40 years of your life increases your chances for lung cancer. So don't smoke. Anyways, that's the main reason I'm not in the Bahamas right now since my grandma's funeral service is on the 7th.
The plan for the weekend was to drive back down to San Diego to where I can get some decent internet, since the internet home just totally sucks. Plus my family isn't the most enjoyable to be around. So last night I stayed up all night and had the pleasure to sit with the European donks in the early morning hours. Plus I saw heads-up table between two of my favorite regulars to play against: Poly_Baller and xorbie. I'm starting to think Poly_Baller has a basic idea of how to play a good game of poker. xorbie on the other hand just might be the worst regular at NL400 & NL600. This guy is just bad lol...
Was up $1500, all was going good... then I got cold decked pretty hardcore for an hour. It all started off with this bluff I ran that was snapped off by the most ridiculous hero call ever: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/351988 / I pretty much felt super gross after that last hand then this happened: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/351978 <-- The post-hand chat on this hand was pretty funny. He says to me: "Sorry, I've been run over all day by you, gotta make a stand sometime!" Yup sir, gotta make them stands! That's good pokah obv! Finally, Poly_Baller demonstrates to me why he is one of the biggest winners at NL400 right now: http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/351998 Pretty standard stuff.
Overall I only lost $800 so I can't really complain too much. Going to be playing a ton before school starts back up on the 16th, will keep my blog updated!

So I decided I wanted to improved my limit game because I think it would really help with tough postflop situations and help my hu NL game in certain situations where i need to get max value with hands and need to make big call downs.
I started off the day trying to get hu limit games anywhere from 2/4 to 10/20. i watched a couple schneids vids and played a bunch and apparently i really really fucking suck at hu limit. check out this mess:
LOL. that has to be the most pathetic thing of all time. i cant even claim running remotely bad as i lost to about 6 separate opponents. ok i guess i wont be playing any more hu limit.
BUT ON A POSITIVE NOTE...i decided to not totally give up and try to grind back the losses at other limit games, and VOILAAAAAAAA, apparently i can minbet decently in 6max:
so i made 18 dollars today. weeeeeeeeeeeeee ship it. ok im done with limit, back to grinding nl cash tomorrow.
new years eve was fun, and im contemplating mspainting some of it for your viewing pleasure, but it will definitely take a while to do. maybe ill do it when im in bahamas. the pictures would have funny moments from the nights of ahh_snap and martine23.
and one final note, i have joined the dark side. i was in EB games the other day and there was an after christmas sale, and i picked up WoW and the expansion for only 30 bucks!
this is what my character will look like after im not a newb:

So I finally got a youtube account for myself today, mainly because I have a bunch of short video clips I took with my camera this past year. Here are a couple of them... nothing too interesting.
TwistedEcho Can Juggle! - This was in Vegas, Echo was demonstrating his gosu juggling skills. Then Mango runs into him and ruins it.
Bellagio Fountain Show - Taken from the back of Shintaro during the WPT Championships.
San Diego Labor Day Riot - This is the reason why we have an alcohol ban on our beaches now... there were thousands of drunks college kids throwing shit at the cops. Not so smart
Its Me! - My best friend was fucking around with my camera and decided to take this dumb video clip of me. I'm drunk at it's 4am... obv I'm not going to be doing much.

Play good. Run bad. Fail. Tried to squeeze in as many hands as possible this morning before I had to go see my grandma at the hospital (she isn't doing very good at all). Anyways, was up a fair amount and then my roommate sat down at my tables and pretty much decimated my stacks in the most retarded ways...

First of all, a few graphs:
May-August, November- December, Stars
August-November, Prima
(Hopefully my NL500 shot wont look as ugly as my NL300 shot made this graph look)
Well, there's a few things I'd like to do..
For starters I want to succesfully move up to NL500 (from NL200, new site) and I'd like to play this stake until I manage a 4bb/100 winrate over a significant sample size. Not sure how long I want to stay at NL500 yet, but I'm thinking of being really conservative before I move up to 5/10 (no 2/4 or 3/6 at this site), almost certainly not before I get to 50k, likely more.
Sometime during the year I also want to finally learn heads-up.
Second, I'd like to get a good playing schedule, preferably a set number of hands per month (I'm thinking 50k at least, but I'm not sure how many tables I'll be able to play).
3rd, I really want to get my sleeping schedule straight, start waking up before noon would be a nice start (actually waking up before 6 PM would be a step up for me right now :D).
I also want to get back to training MMA, maybe I'll get a seasons pass (or whatever you want to call it, basically means I can go to any of their classes for the entire spring season). I guess I'll go to as many grappling classes I can since I like that much more than the standup part.
Lastly, I want to start learning Go again, perhaps join the local go club. I completely stopped learning the game around the time I picked up poker, which is too bad since it's a fun game.
So, hope you all had a nice 2007, and that your 2008 will be even better.
I don't really make goals for myself... not a very goal oriented / driven kind of guy, so that is something I want to change for the New Year. There are a few things un-poker related that I want to get out there and achieve:
Staying Single! (With very rare exceptions) No I'm not gay. I'm all about getting some ass when I can get it, but ever since my last relationship (which lasted almost 3 years) I've been on a mission to not get into a relationship. Basically, for a poker player, it can never be good. Relationships are very -EV for the obvious reasons that they are time consuming to keep up, and very costly to your wallet (no matter how much you want to admit it). The exception to this rule would be if I could nail someone has hot as Jessica Alba (which would be worth all the time / money in the world) and she tells me something absurd like "You won't get laid unless we are dating." Either that or I find someone that truly understands and accepts the fact that I really don't have time for her. Besides, living the single life is so... FREE!!!
Improving My Blog - When I went to Vegas in December I told Zimba how many hits I get on my blog, and he told me he got more. Obv this put me on sick tilt. Totally unacceptable that a manager from Cardrunners somehow gets more hits on his blog than me. He doesn't even play that much poker! How can his life be more interesting to read than mine! Oh the injustice! So this upcoming year I'm going to dedicate a little more time in keeping my blog somewhat more updated, in an effort to get more hits than Zimba's blog. Btw, for those of you who read Zimba's blog, stop it!
Staying In Shape - I was 1st team All-American in high school for swimming my junior and senior year. If I got into a pool right now to swim more than 8 laps I'm going to be breathing hard. When my best friend came down to San Diego to visit a couple weeks ago, we worked out in the gym and rode the bike for 30 mins. 30 minute bike ride = CosMo Cardio Death. What's wrong with me? I use to be so into working out, but recently I've totally fallen out of it. With that said, I'm probably more fit than 95% of poker players in general anyways but that really isn't saying too much. I use to think I'd get my exercise by going to the beach, but when I went to the beach this semester all I did was... tan and sleep. Not really active eh? My apartment complex even has it's own private gym and 25 yard lap pool which is a 1 min walk away from my room. I need to start taking advantage of this. So, keeping with my tradition of setting the bar low: I'm going to work out a whopping 3 times a week minimum, for at least an hour each time.
Being More Organized - Holy shit I'm the most unorganized person in the world. Marshall28 can attest to this. I basically don't realize I have to do things until the last minute. This carries over to a lot of my school work and makes studying a lot harder than it needs to be. Not really sure how to improve on this, but it's definitely something I want to improve.
Learning to Cook - This was inspired by [vital]Myth. For those of you who don't know, not only is [vital]Myth our resident super genius at hand discussions, he's also a 5-star chef. This kid can fucking cook. While helping him move in, at least half the boxes we put into his new apartment were cooking supplies / kitchen appliances. And since Myth and FrinkX live no more than a 3 minute drive away, I try and make it over for dinner as much as possible because Myth seriously cooks some of the most fantastic food ever. This past semester I've been pretty much living off of a combination of Quizno's, Rubio's, Panda Express, Subway, Sombrero's, Oggi's Pizza, and Pat & Oscar's for the most part since I cannot cook shit. I'm pretty much sick of all the food I get from around my area... time to start cooking for myself! A couple of my good friends back home have given me a few simple starter recipes that I'm going to try out when I get back to SD. Who knows... I'm asian... I might be the next Iron Chef. Sup?
Traveling - Maybe not during the semester, but definitely over the summer I want to travel to somewhere interesting. I'm not exactly sure where or what I'm going to do, but I have the time and money and I heard that I need to travel so... let's go! I'm going to Hawaii for my friend's graduation. Other places could be Europe? Japan? I heard you can get a 10 cent hooker in Thailand, maybe I should go there?
As for poker related goals... I don't really know yet. Haven't thought of anything creative. I find that it's hard to make realistic goals in poker since there is just so much variance. I guess I can set a goal to play more... I don't know yet. I'll make another post when I figure that out

Definitely not playing enough poker. I blame my friends who think what I do for a living is "lame" and "unproductive". I swear if I had the skills for a job that pays as good as this, I'd be doing that. But I don't have those kind of skills, so for the time being, this will have to do. This month has been pretty smooth for the most part, was kind of a grind in the middle of it, then out of nowhere I had a pretty killer 1.5 hour session just now. Here are some of the hands from it:
Here are the PT stats (because Windows Vista is gay on my computer):
Winning 56% of my showdowns made me feel like god for once. Hands were holding, draws were getting there, I was winning half my coinflips! Shit was working like it was suppose to! Don't know how much I'm going to be playing for the rest of the month, might just take a break til next year. So here is december's PT:
Will someone explain to me how $440 an hour is unproductive?
Ship it ez. I hope next year I can win more than 45% of my showdowns. That would be nice...
