So as you saw in my previous blogpost, I finally had a winning NL50 session! Played a few more sessions with good results too. Last one was kind of iffy though.. card dead mostly and lots of suckouts so I ended up breaking even. As long as I'm not losing, it's all good. My stats actually ended up quite nitty because towards the end of all the sessions I just wasn't getting good hands anymore and found it hard to open much. Which is also why I ended up finishing those sessions. But for most of the session I found myself playing around 22/18 which is nice.
Anyway, feels good to be winning again and I trust it shall continue this way And I really need to stop making donk plays at all because it hurts my winrate. I could be up like $400 for the day which is absolutely sick obv but I donked some of it off. We live and learn.
Graphs, tables and stuff:
18.7 BB/100!!! (was 20+ before that last session):
You get a fun preview of Crazy McCain statements and funny Obama retorts and then you'll see some new polls which had me going "HELL YEAH!" Click the play button =)
Dark green is Obama, light green is McCain. Notice Obama hit 50 after his convention, then crashed quickly during the RNC and the initial Palin frenzy. Then McCain had a huge convention bounce peaking @ 49, and then started a slow downfall until the economy got bad and Obama sky rocketed on what I guess we'd call an "economy bounce", leaving us at 49-44 Obama. This could even out again or it could be the big turning point where Obama holds strong. It was about this time in the election season when Bill Clinton took his solid lead over bush senior and held it through the election. Who knows!
For the first time I´ve tried to play 8 tables instead of 6. My winrate was pretty good but I am a bit worried about my stats.
Normally I play 18/14/4 (at unibet I played like 20/17/4, but I have tightened up a bit at FTP since everyone else seems to play tight too) but when I added two more tables I managed to play 13/10/3 (over 4k hands). I guess I can get away with it at NL100 but at higher levels I need to loosen up some. So I guess I´ll play 8 tables as long as I play NL100 and then go back to my original 6 when I move up...
Finally a winning session on NL50!!! I'm so amped right now!!! I pretty much owned the tables today... played good.. ran good. Except for one notable hand which I played like a complete prat. Obviously knew I was beat but had that fish tendency to never fold aces. Actually thought he flopped trips rather than a FH. Doesn't matter I was way behind either way. I was deep too.
Here's the hand:

God I can be so newb sometimes. How is it that your emotional+curious+non-accepting side always overrides however strongly your logic is.
Anyways doesn't matter it was just a lemon decision. Anyways if that hand didn't happen I would be +200 in only ~2 hours!!! Which is like the most I've ever shipped obv :D
I've also recognized what tilts me the most. Those fuckers who chase flush draws like cock sucking zombies and then hit them obv. I can then give them appropriate notes such as:
It's Shinji Sasaki's (professioanl fighter) entrance theme, instrumental piece that's really good imo. Tried googling but I guess he's just not well known enough in the english speaking world for me to find any info and I don't speak japanese.
I cut out the entrance bit from the last shooto event which has most of it: http://mihd.net/ia4uhnj
Any help in identifying this song would be greatly appreciated =] The name of the 2nd song would be cool too.
Thanks.
I'd offer money on stars for it but I only have money on crypto, and they don't have p2p transfer.
EDIT: Chuiu on TL knew it, Yoshida Brothers - Storm
Ya so things are going well again. Had a good Thursday - +$285. That's 11.4 BI on NL25. Pretty nice. Biggest winning day so far I think. Anyways, then the doomswitch was turned on as the clock struck 12. And ya I lost $85 of my profit. Sick. Oh well I guess 200 is still quite nice.
I've decided to carry on grinding NL25 for just a bit even though I'm past the 1K mark. I just want a nice cushion for when I take another shot at NL50 because I've had some bad experiences with it before ^^ and basically I want to not go below 1K if I lose a couple of BI. I like seeing my roll in 4 digits :D
Been running much better recently, since start of september ive been kinda crushing nl25 as opposed to a ridiculous breakeven stretch i had previously. Havn't changed my style of play at all and it is quite reassuring to get some profit since i was seriously doubting my ability towards the end of august.
But yea now the recent heater takes my BR over 1k (i cashed out all the tourny winnings to spend on a fun end of summer) and im ready to move up to nl50.
Stats+Graph of all of it, September starts at pretty much hand #29k lol
I've noticed my PFR% and VPIP diverge by quite a lot, almost 7%, this is because i've been calling in position a lot more, i think it's working fine and i don't see it as a problem since it disguises my flat calling range to regulars imo. A lot of players play like 18/17 and flat only pocket pairs so its hugely transparent what kind of hand they are going mad with on a dry flop and can make some pretty decent folds against them.
Going back to university on Tuesday, kinda cant b fucked to go back but oh well. I'll have fun.
Ok, so every time I get back too Uppsala I seem to hit a downswing. I'm annoyed when I play and even though I'm playing my A-game, or at least B+, most of the time I'm slipping some of the time. I'm down like 9k€ this month over very few hands so that sucks ass. To get a fresh start I've decided to withdraw a lot of my bankroll and do what I always do when I feel like entering a new phase in my "poker life"; start a new database.
I'll start out with 20k€ online and play 2/4€ (and 3/6$ since it's the same thing) until I hit 30k, then I'll play 3/6€ (and 5/10$ obv) until I've got 60k€ and that's pretty much my goal for this fall. I'll also try to play at least 1k hands/day 5 days a week and hope to reach 30k hands/month from October and onward.
Funny thing is that I did something similar just over a year ago. I withdrew everything but 216 USD, I was playing 1/2 at the time, and grinded that back up from NL50 to the very place I am today. Obviously a working concept. Overall I'm pretty proud with where I am right now considering that I've played for just over 2 years and also managed to stay in law school without one single failed test. Decent grades + lots of monies is a good result I think. Now I'll get them even better and I really feel that I have a decent shot to make a shitton of money next year if I take a year of law school. I'll just have to have a roll for 5/10+ and some confidence left. It'd be great to have 100bi when I begin that grind.
I got very inspired by Pinball when he visited so I'll might try to get another screen too. More tables ftw when you don't feel like playing really high. And while I namedrop I'd like to remember one of my favorite poker players all time; Gawuss. I remember how we talked a lot about poker a year ago or something and how we felt that NL1k was the SHIT and that we would be sooo happy if we ever got there. He'll probably be there soon and unless I fuck up I'll be back there in a month or two. Really makes me feel happy and put things in perspective.
This is part of that Republican strategy of Lie, Lie, Lie, and when you're proven to be lying, keep fucking doing it. If you didn't already know, the "Bridge to Nowhere" that Palin keeps saying she rejected was something she actually supported. According to Factcheck.org:
Palin may have said “Thanks, but no thanks” on the Bridge to Nowhere, though not until Congress had pretty much killed it already. But that was a sharp turnaround from the position she took during her gubernatorial campaign, and the town where she was mayor received lots of earmarks during her tenure.
Despite all the news organizations pointing out that she's LYING, she still goes out there and says it in her stump speech. WTF? They must think we're all idiots. If someone lied to you, you went and found out it was a lie, and you came back and told em you knew the truth and they just kept lying and lying and lying, I think you'd be pretty pissed off. You'd at least look at them as some sort of pathological liar, lunatic or complete scumbag. Anyway, here's a fun clip of her telling her lie... over, and over, and over again.
She's also either lying about energy or has no clue wtf she's talking about, as she's recently claimed that Alaska provides 20$ of all the lower 48's energy... which is WRONG. Again, according to FactCheck.org:
Palin claims Alaska "produces nearly 20 percent of the U.S. domestic supply of energy." That's not true.
Alaska did produce 14 percent of all the oil from U.S. wells last year, but that's a far cry from all the "energy" produced in the U.S.
Alaska's share of domestic energy production was 3.5 percent, according to the official figures kept by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
And if by "supply" Palin meant all the energy consumed in the U.S., and not just produced here, then Alaska's production accounted for only 2.4 percent.
All the things that seemed "good" about Palin originally are turning out to be lies, and the things that are true scare me (anti-abortion, scarily religious, doesn't believe in global warming). I hope more people are seeing through her BS. The polls seem to indicate that they are.
