Doing pretty good so far. I'm probably down $30 playing random tournaments and the $4.40 180s, but they're more for fun anyway. I'm still grinding the $6.50 turbos, and am running at 15% ROI over a small sample. I'm still fixing a bunch of leaks with SNGWiz, and I know I'm playing far from perfect, but the field is very soft.
One minor thing that was annoying was that I was browsing stars and saw a sunday warmup double shootout satellite for $11.70. It guaranteed two seats to the sunday warmup, which essentially meant $215 if you place in the top two. Minimum registrants was 8 people, and there were 5 people registered with 5 minutes left. Naturally, I registered and figured I'd unregister if the satellite became crowded.
Now obv, the rules stated in the tournament was that you can't unregister in the last 10 minutes of registration, so that was fail number one. Fail number two was that I sat down 3handed and took one guy out, sitting with a 2:1 chip advantage vs the other guy, and then busted by two aipf: AQ vs AJ J on board and JJ vs KK.
Anyways, I plan on moving up if I can hit 50bi for the $16s and keep an ROI over 10% at the $6.50s.
Ive heard a lot of great things about this tv show and today I decided Id check out a few episodes and see if its any good. I actually really like the show. Kinda like a CSI but with a nice twist. Ive only watched 3 episodes of the first season but so far its pretty interesting. Hopefully I can finish the rest of the season tomorrow If I got nothing to do during the day.
I went to the Tornto Snowboard/Ski/Trip show at the Exhibition place today too. They have a lot of great deals on everything and everything you would need to ski or snowboard. I ended up grabbing a new Saloman board and bindings plus a pretty nice Dakine hat. If you think youre going to need a new snowboard for the new season get to this show before its over. Great deals on great stuff.
Last night a bunch of us went to the Oktoberfest event at the Concordian Club. I had a great time and got so trashed lol. Was hurting prett bad this morning, thankfully I didnt hve anything to do for most of the day. Got tomorrow off, probably just going to watch dexter and get in some hands. Not looking forward to work Saturday ugh. Probably going to watch the Red Wings game now and then crash.
Ok so a little update on my poker progress so far. After running through nl50 in 1.5 week I started nl100 with a 2.5k br. So far I've played 60k hands on 0.50/1.00. The result so far is up for 25 bi's. However I haven't ran that hot on nl100 as I did on nl50. Things were pretty bad for some days. I think at least 2 out of 4 weeks I've had some rough times with extremly sick coolers and suckouts one after another, this decreased my winrate by a lot. Last week I couldn't win a hand and dropped about 8 bi's in 5 days, however after that I had 2 decent days in which I won most of it back. I do have some questions about my graph tho, my winnings without showdown have dropped dramaticly, probably because of a bad run too but maybe running a little bad isn't the only problem. Could this be a postflop play problem? Here is my graph.
I hope I can reach a winrate of 30 buyin's a month. So far that seems very doable. I won a total of 5.3k so far so should have been able to play nl200. But I needed some money and cashed out about 2.3k. I hope I can reach nl200 at the end of the month. Before I do that I'll make a new blog entry for some advice.
I would also like to add some of my experiances on nl100 so far. I think most of the players in nl100 are pretty bad. Some of the regulars are ok but most of them are nits. After coming from nl50 at first I had a few problems dealing with the increased agression of the regulars, however they have a lot of leaks as well. Normally I 4table but I try 6 tabling these days some more. Because there really is no point in playing fancy on this stake, they will pay you off anyway. I bought a 26" tft so it's no problem to play 6 tables, however I do seem to nit a little up by playing 2 more tables, not to much tho.
I'm really really looking forward to nl200, after 60k hands I've had enough of nl100. And I hope I will be able to make 30 bi's a month in nl200. I've noticed that my motivation for poker increased by a lot when I reached 0.50/1.00, the money was more intresting and I've came by some more familiar names from LP. It's always good to chitchat a little with LP's on the tables and hear their point of view. Great community!
Havent played poker for 1 week.
Simple reason is i didnt find any time.
University did start again at 13th October and therfore i was all buisy with MMA and University so far.
My fight is on 24th October which is 7 days to go
MMA fight preperation is like 92% finished now after going through 8(7) weeks of intense training
I trained 5times a week each session 2-3,5 hours for 4 weeks. After that i had an 10 day break to recover energy ( just some light shadowbxing for 1h 2 times a weak and a bit of relaxed running)
Then i had 2 weeks of unreal hard training. I was really pushed to the maximum of my current condition abilities by my trainers. ( I am pretty sure i can go higher in the future though.)
Since this week ( which is the 8th week of our preparation shedule) its time for (semi)recovery again
Most of our training at the momment is relaxed BJJ rolling on the ground.
tbh i almost feel burned out atm. and really really exhausted.
But since i have another 7days of recovery to come i guess it will be all fine again
I learned so much in these 8 weeks that i am pretty sure i would destroy myself of 8 weeks ago easly to hell in less than 1 round.
my stand up game has improved a ton
And i feel save and happy about it.
What i am a little worried right now is my ground game ...
Sometimes i get caught into submissions too easily ....
I dont think my Groundgame is bad . I think its kinda risky though most of the time.
I am not sure if its a general difference between groundgame and stand up that u can lose to inferior opponents a higher percentage or if just my fundamentals in stand up are a lot better than in ground fighting.
Like when i do MuayThai style hard sparring vs an inferior opponent i dominate the whole match and never feel in danger.
When i do BJJ sparring on the ground vs. an inferior opponent i dominate most of the time and win most of the matches.
But like 15% of the time i get caught in some submission and have to tap even to an overall ground game less skilled opponent.
Like on Wednesday i had 10 BJJ sparring rounds vs a 84KG guy who is mainly a Kyokushin fighter and has very little knowledge of BJJ.
The intention of this sparring was that i must use lots of tequniue vs his strength and weight advantage.
68KG vs 84KG
It was very interetsing since i have a lot more knowledge about groudn fighting than him and he is a lot stronger.
I won 6-4 on submissions overall ( I successfully finished 3 foot locks 2 armbars ( from guard) and 1 Guillotine)
He won 3 times with arm triangle and 1 time with armbar.
And that was the not so funny part ^^
I got armbared by a tequnically much worse person
I hope my groudngame will improve with the next training sessions ,)
I have Friday , Saturday,SUnday , Monday , Wednesday for 5x 2 hours easy BJJ rolling and tequnique to go before the fight.

So I'll head home to hang out with my sister this weekend because she'll go to India and liberate Tibet or something in a week or so. It'll be nice meeting the folks back home again and hopefully I'll get some quality time with my family. Today I've been watching stupid cat pics and stuff with malmis and my roomie and yesterday I hosted a dinner + movie night for my project group in school. This girls attended and apparently she knows like half the cast for the great Swedish movie Slim Sussie so we watched that one. Lots of fun and the girls of the group started talking about doing it again, but with them making the food this time. 5 glasses of wine later I found myself drunkpwning small stakes HU and omaha hi/lo.
Since the stock market fucks everyone in the ass right now it feels good that poker is going well at least. Unless I fuck up this month will probably be top 3 or 4 biggest winning months ever for me.
And while speaking of awesome, watch the ending of this
.

God this bitch is painfulby VanDerMeyde, October 16
If McCain wins the election and I have to listen to this bitch, im turning off the TV, unplugging my internet cable and moving up to the cold mountains of North Norway to a tent. God forbid she acctually becomes president !
So today shipped a final table on bodog $7 for $88 nothing extreme but gives me ton of confidence knowing that barring a suckout for half the chips in play I was about to win that bitch.
Went and played at the casino tonight also stroked a win in a $25 freezeout for $455 high five
Anyways talking about poker is lame but I did nothing today so I got nothing.
Time to destroy a deers day. Great Succes
Won a sat to Quarter Millionby Sheitan, October 15
Starting in 1h23, play it or unregister for monies ? The last 30 days i won 3 sunday mill tickets, 1x 500$ wcoop seat, and now this one. Everytime i played them and i didn't make it ITM. Should i start unregistering and get the money instead ? I currently have 200$ on my account lmao, one should ask why i play 44$ sat, well they're so soft it's like a walk in the park...
So degen it up a la Neilly or rebuild my anorexic BR ?
I want to gamble so much someone stop me to do it !
