Havent played poker for 1 week.
Simple reason is i didnt find any time.

University did start again at 13th October and therfore i was all buisy with MMA and University so far.
My fight is on 24th October which is 7 days to go

MMA fight preperation is like 92% finished now after going through 8(7) weeks of intense training
I trained 5times a week each session 2-3,5 hours for 4 weeks. After that i had an 10 day break to recover energy ( just some light shadowbxing for 1h 2 times a weak and a bit of relaxed running)
Then i had 2 weeks of unreal hard training. I was really pushed to the maximum of my current condition abilities by my trainers. ( I am pretty sure i can go higher in the future though.)
Since this week ( which is the 8th week of our preparation shedule) its time for (semi)recovery again
Most of our training at the momment is relaxed BJJ rolling on the ground.

tbh i almost feel burned out atm. and really really exhausted.
But since i have another 7days of recovery to come i guess it will be all fine again

I learned so much in these 8 weeks that i am pretty sure i would destroy myself of 8 weeks ago easly to hell in less than 1 round.
my stand up game has improved a ton
And i feel save and happy about it.
What i am a little worried right now is my ground game ...
Sometimes i get caught into submissions too easily ....

I dont think my Groundgame is bad . I think its kinda risky though most of the time.

I am not sure if its a general difference between groundgame and stand up that u can lose to inferior opponents a higher percentage or if just my fundamentals in stand up are a lot better than in ground fighting.

Like when i do MuayThai style hard sparring vs an inferior opponent i dominate the whole match and never feel in danger.
When i do BJJ sparring on the ground vs. an inferior opponent i dominate most of the time and win most of the matches.
But like 15% of the time i get caught in some submission and have to tap even to an overall ground game less skilled opponent.

Like on Wednesday i had 10 BJJ sparring rounds vs a 84KG guy who is mainly a Kyokushin fighter and has very little knowledge of BJJ.
The intention of this sparring was that i must use lots of tequniue vs his strength and weight advantage.
68KG vs 84KG

It was very interetsing since i have a lot more knowledge about groudn fighting than him and he is a lot stronger.
I won 6-4 on submissions overall ( I successfully finished 3 foot locks 2 armbars ( from guard) and 1 Guillotine)
He won 3 times with arm triangle and 1 time with armbar.

And that was the not so funny part ^^
I got armbared by a tequnically much worse person

I hope my groudngame will improve with the next training sessions ,)
I have Friday , Saturday,SUnday , Monday , Wednesday for 5x 2 hours easy BJJ rolling and tequnique to go before the fight.

Otherweise i better sprawl and brawl a lot.

GL for your match. You seem to have prepared a lot for this thing!

That is sick that LP has an MMA fighter... Hopefully there is some kind of media you can arrange for us, even if its just pictures... That would be awesome.. It sounds you like you really know yourself and your strengths/weaknesses, and your confidence is in check. Have fun and enjoy the fight..

jesus christ... you 'real' fighters are unreal.

good luck man, sounds like a ridic. training regiment you got going. i used to play high-tier junior hockey, and our regiments were nothing like yours. @ all. then again, it is diff having 1 'game' every few months, but still. sick training

g'luck, i'd def. put $200 on you as winning, from work ethic alone

Well i think its totallly different.
As an amateur MMA fighter u have like 2-3 fights a year.
As a hockey player u have 1 or more matches every week ?

So ofc u cant go as hard before the games ...
u would burn out after first 2 month.

Also , i am nowhere near being professional MMA fighter.
I think thats probably not possible in Germany and i am faaar too bad for UFC and stuff ^^
