50nl 10.5k hands by Spitfiree, January 11

Is it possible to be playing fine and All in Ev to be down but profit up ? I mean i get coolered soo many times and there a lot of spots where i win 40%-60% s but overally when i get sucked out with runner runner flushes like 3 time in a row i start playing bad for like 20mins till i calm down .... Yesterday lost a 400bb pot vs A9s with AKo the guy callled big 3bet preflop and then runner runner flushed me .....

edit: Also there was a time i shoved AA Preflop vs KK and HEM showed it as like -17$ EV Diff wtf is this i think HEM isnt showing EV right

[NL10] Day 2 by Uptown, January 11

I'm definitely being passive and weak in situations where I was comfortable being aggressive in NL5.

Open raising then not taking down enough flops *might* be an issue, is there a way to check detailed stats of myself in PT3? I'd really like to see results of my steals (actually, I think I know how to do this one) as well as how often I'm cbetting and results.

Whether I need to be nittier from EP and looser from LP is a point of contention that hopefully I can examine soon.

Overall, swingy session that was rather stressful if I may say so. But overall the NL10 shot is going well, hopefully I can concentrate on making the +EV moves rather than trying to "stay" at this limit.

Special Thanks to Sicks Macks, vlseph and Night2o1 who I think have commented often in my hands/threads/blogs <3. Appreciate the advice a lot.

Night, hope your NL50 shot is going well!

Roll Buildaments by killThemDonks, January 11

I recently started back poker after a break for November through December, and decided to try to build a decent roll for NL100 with the money I had left on stars (~200$). So far for the last 3 days I've been spewing a ton on NL25 - just lacking the discipline to fold those shitty spots where i KNOW i should, but call down light just to see if my reads were correct. Results so far:

+ Show Spoiler +

Now sitting on ~$200 again, I think its time to stop dicking around and take things a bit more seriously. I'm tempted to do a deposit and just grind NL50 but I'm curious to see if I can really grind a decent roll from "scratch". I'll probably be updating this regularly with my progress for the day and boobies (especially since that "I'm the really cool girl.." thread failed to deliv3r).

BR Scheme: (I know all about variance. I think I'll be fine)
NL25: 200 - 600
NL50: 600 - 3500

running goot again by whamm!, January 10

fail in sne obv
but im not going into that anymore, too many hands at 100nl, i wanna just rebuild my br to 200nl level again just so that i can make 800kvpp at least this year or even supernova elite, if in case i do get back to a 20k roll before june, ill be playing super mad hands everyday, br restrictions really hurt my quest for it, and now i realize it's kinda stupid to chase that with a 30bi starting roll lol
good thing is my br rebuilding has gone decent again after the mini heater, mini downswing i encountered in 1st week 09. im up at least 1300 so far this month and it feels pretty good. playing a mix of 50 and 100nl tho. but close to winning back what i won then lost this year hehe

vomit & confetti by vegable, January 10

Wow poker is such a sick scary game.

After my nice sessions yesterday I played another one after my blog update, and dropped ALL MY PROFITS in 300 hands. Needless to say that was SICK DEVASTATING. Then I get back on the horse today

http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/ff9de253a5b8adededb5be8cf8f97516.jpg

This is such a mindfuck but really good for character building imo. Soon I will feel nothing at all...

New year stuff by DustySwedeDude, January 10

So today sucked a bit. Lost a little bit today also, but still up for January. Not that much but too much to complain. Anyway, I've decided that I'll be a poker pro in june, when school ends. Thus I should start acting like one. Therefore, I hereby declear that I'll keep to a 100bi bankroll management plan and I'll only break it if I'm either in a heater (as in, had decent wins 3 sessions in a row) and/or a big fish is in a higher game. Not that I really feel that I need it, but it'll be good for my mental health. So basically I'll grind 2/4 until I've won a couple of bi and then play 3/6.

As for IRL my new class seems semi-decent. My favorite law-gay is in it, as are one of my better friends. The teacher seems super chill and the rest of the class seems decent enough, even though a couple of people seems weird as hell. Whatever, it'll be a nice change from last semester since our teachers this semester actually seems like human beings and knows what they're talking about. Overall I'm happy with that.

Other then that me and my roomie watched surviving Christmas (low expectations, but it was ok) and a couple of episodes of How I meet your mother with Thin Girl. She's a bit cuter now then last I saw her and she's nice enough. It was either Sanai from this forum or maybe a guy called Zeratum or something from another forum we used to post at who wrote something along the lines of; "I love skinny girls; even normal sized boobs looks huge on them". Not that this girls boobs look huge or anything, but skinny is still very nice. She's also very nice, so she might be a part of the "OMG let's just watch a movie, it's fucking freezing outside!"-gang.

Bah, back to dota^^.

Donkaments by Sicks Macks, January 10

I'm so bad at them. Poker wise I'm fine, but ICM wise I suck. I just keep thinking of everything in cash terms. For example:

I HAZ BLOCKERZ, I SQUEEZE

I HAZ TOPPEST PAIR AND 15bbs I STACK OFF

Also, donkament players are mad weak tight in the $10-$50 entry range. That is all.

New Year, PCA, SNE Sidebet by RaSZi, January 10

New Years and last couple of days before the PCA

Evy's toothache had been getting worse after Christmas, so we mainly chilled out at home. This actually suited us just fine, since we were having the laziest holidays we both ever had. I did get some grinding in last couple of days of the year. I started the last session of the year december the 30th, and it lasted till about 5 p.m. the 31st. It was absolute pain and horror. I have been running really bad last 2 weeks of december, but so far I hadn't lost a lot. This session was different though. I was playing mostly 10-20 and 25-50 due to soft holiday tables, I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about. On 25-50 I lost AK vs AA vs ADZ 3 handed pf allin and then top pair vs naked flushdraw for another 13k pot. This is all pretty standard of course, but it just kept on going. It's really frustrating, especially cause all the pots I was losing were on the higher tables.

Every New Year the last 3 years I have been doing really bad, losing respectively 40k, 500k and 130k over the past 3 years in the last week of the year. I was really trying to do it differently this year, but alas. I ended up losing about 40k in the session, feeling really bad. I actually had to quit because I was angry and my play was definitely suffering from the way I felt. I guess I'm doing less bad each year or something, so maybe next year I will win during New Year . It was a good thing I was at Evy's house. It really helps me be calm emotionally, even though I have gotten a lot better at that, and I believe I am at a point right now I barely say anything when I am playing online and losing. I need to be a Terminator!!! The rest of the evening we just chilled, played some games and watched TV, which to us was awesome . Here's a little movie to end the holidays with officially. Props to Evy for finding it.

PCA

After the downswing the last day of the year, I luckily recovered and booked 2 very nice wins on 3-6 the next 2 days. I'm really gonna need some confidence back, so I'll probably be on 3-6 for the next 150k hands or so I.E. 5 SESSIONS LOL. I have been playing pretty long sessions, but more about that later. The last 2 days we just chilled and prepared ourselves for a vacation on the Bahamas.

I had never been to the PCA, also because of the downswings near the end of the year mentioned above. This time I was really excited, even though we found out it's a 10 hour flight from Vegas. Thats kind of ridiculous. We had to fly north to Philadelphia first. I'm not a big fan of travelling, but the trip went by lightning quick. We arrived in a sunday 25 degrees celcius (fuck fahrenheit, I have no idea) Bahamian paradise. The airport was laidback and we got through in no titme. We ran into Pieter de Korver (winnar of a big poker tv show in holland) and his buddy Erik. It was fun meeting them and they are really nice. We shared a cab to go to the resort. Bahamas reminded me of spain turkey and hawaii, in 1 big mix.

When we got to the hotel, sadly our room wasn't ready yet, so we hung out in the lobby, being completely exhausted. When we finally had a chance to go to our room we were so tired, that our nap lasted 9 hours in stead of the regular single hour. We woke up at 11 pm and were too late for any welcome parties or drinks that were on the island. The pokerstars parties are fun, but sleep is important too, especially seeing we had to both play the next day. We hung out in the lobby some and then went to bed. Day 1 was my exit day, but Evy had a good stack to start day 2. She eventually busted somewhere in day 2 3-betting pf with KJ and getting it in on QTx vs AQ, standard. On day 2 of the main event, I played a 2k sideevent, but I wasn't really feeling like poker and it cost me in concentration. This made me decide to not play any side-events anymore and to live beach life. The resort is awesome and contrary to what I have heard previous to coming here, the surface is good so far too.

So everything is nice and life is good, but there is one disadvantage to the PCA. There are 2 many people. It's like everywhere you look you see people you know from live tournaments or online, and there is just no time to hang out with everyone. Evelyn and I have been kind of kicking it together, going to the pool and having a senior citizen schedule. I have not been playing at all and we really wanna look at the PCA as a vacation, not a poker trip, after the main event. It's just hard to hang out everywhere and I think it's best to just try not to. Yesterday we had a nice dinner with some people though . Tonight we're going to have dinner with apestyles and maridu, who are the shit.

I have also been doing a lot of webcasting when the tournament came towards it's end. I really enjoy doing it and I hope I can do it sometimes for regular tv. Reading has been taking a lot of my time though. We've been reading a lot of Batman comics (comic books of the classic superheroes are not big at all in Holland, so I have never read one until now) and I have been reading in the Annie Rice vampire books. Too bad we cannot play any guitar hero here :$. I have been playing some more lately after slopping. Here's a vid of something I recorded. One of the awesomestest songs in the game.

We're gonna leave here the 12th to return to Vegas. I wanted to go to Deauville, but I can't leave Vegas before the 17th. That means we get to Europe on the 18th, and then the 19th we would have to drive to Deauville for 5 hours. It's icecold in Europe and since I don't think the chance of me going to Deauville if we do end up going to Europe on the 17th, is that big. I might as well stay in Vegas and put in some grinding hours.

Supernova Elite Side Bet

I have been thinking about a supernova elite sidebet in 2008, but I went for the 3-6 and under bet in stead. This year I really wanna go for it. I was aiming for a bet where I had to make SNE before day 1 of the WSOP main event. However, some stuff has come up and I'm gonna have to travel a lot. That's why I might change the deadline to august first, or I want better odds.

Bet:

Raszi needs to be supernova elite before day 1 of ME, or august 1st, this needs to be decided.

Stipulations:
- I'm not allowed to grind sit and go's. With grinding I mean multitabling. I am allowed to play a sit and go once in a while, just not multitable them or play high volume of them.
- I'm not allowed to grind limit cash.
- I'm not allowed to have someone else play on my account.
- If I have an accident or not able to control a mouse the bet is off. I trust everyone knows I won't break my own arm or something.
- If decided it's going to be august first in stead of WSOP ME day 1, I am obligated to pursue all the traveling listed later.
- I want 2:1 in case of august 1st or 3:1 for WSOP ME. but more about those details later.

More stipulations might follow, but this is just to give an indication. So give it some thought I'll update the threads about it when I get back to vegas.

Cya.

need to shape up! by PowerHausAA, January 10

trying to get back into mental shape to play 20+ tables for more than 6 hours at a time. been making some pretty bad mistakes recently. what should be a 10+ buyin session turns into -2 to +2 session. although my aggressiveness has picked up from the breakeven bs playing i was doing, im still making too many mistakes(small and large) to actually be making any substantial money. also been getting 3 betted all over the place, lol probably deserve it, i played so nitty in nov and dec. other than that fpps are coming in super fast so breaking even is actually winning. in the end its all about money, right? haha it makes me feel better to put it that way.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/604318
-kind of scratching my head on this one......i purposely flat call to get almost exact situation i got on flop. i see comments about 4 betting it but this guy is clearly not folding to a 4 bet, had a few big pots with him previous to this one.
i see it like this
situation 1)i 4 bet he'll probably call/shove or just get it in since his hand is ideal to put up against aces.
situation 2) flat call shove on his cont bet. i just cant see how he even might be thinking he's live with a drawless board and a reraise with mid pair.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/604357
-frustrating but i still shoved on the turn. losing play for him in the long run

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/604425
-not something i do regularly.....severe position disadvantage too. i shove here against twosevoff cuz well its twosevoff. i have him beat here most the time. 10,7 diamonds snap calls and so do jacks. lol shoot me. even when they called i felt like i was still winning.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/605055
-pretty bad suckout, thought i just had to dodge kqj109 to win here. u lose some/win some. i was getting pretty sick of getting 3 betted by this guy too.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/605056
-random freerolled. just cuz it was the straight flush, i post.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/605218
-i hate myself....everytime im trying to end a session i go do something ridiculous. i was thinking deep stack.......let me try to check this, of course he hits and i blow up on the river and shove. no excuse!

around 33k vpp off pace by 22k (should be at 55k right now) ill put in some longer sessions next few weeks so i can have some time off for superbowl and birthday.

jill can be partially blamed for last hand, i was getting pressure to drink beer and watch bal/ten. snowing in NY should be a fun night out.

5$ rebuy and bad FT by Qyvs!, January 10

5$ rebuy on stars

I got to my first final table of some larger tournament for me which was 5$rebuy on stars. First prize was around 2,5K$ - around 900 entrants. I haven't played any tournaments before to a decent extent and I really enjoyed it. I guess I might be playing more of them on weekends.

Anyways... I was in top TOP30 all the way from the beggining of the tournament. I was getting some decent hands at first, then I was basically stealing a lot. I did raise w/ garbage sometimes and just c/bet. I was getting paid off in spots where I would not think I would. However, I did not build my stack that way, usually just maintain its' size in between getting paid off. Level of play post-flop was really low. I did enjoy the structure beacuse most of the time I had more than 70 big blinds.

Unfortunately when it came down to last 20 people I was 4th in chips and was losing chips constantly.

One guy who was hyper-aggro was reraising most of my raises ( he was 2nd out of 17 at that time ). Eventually he managed to redistribute all my chips beacuse he didn't make it to the final table.

I just gave up raising on that table to steal beacuse he was on my left. Finally I found myself in a spot where I had around ~15 BB and was in reraise all-in, push mode. I wasn't getting any hands at all for an hour and eventually dropped down to 10 BB being 10th out of 12 people on 2 tables.

I had to shove with any two cards couple of times to my new big-blind friend and I made it to the final table. I was last in chips.

Last hand of the tournament I should have folded but I didn't. Blinds were 6/12 1K ante and I had 118K. Everybody folded to the SB who had 330K and decided to make it 36K. I had A5s and decided to shove on him which was terrible. What really made me mad was that I didn't think for a second when I shoved. Last hour I was waiting 3 seconds to make any decision not to give away any timing tells. When I saw A5s I knew that the button and the SB will be bullying me, and A5s was top5 hands I got in the last hour. Before the dealers' , or the SB's decision I knew I was going to shove against their raise on me - which is a retarded way of thinking.

The reasons which made me think I had to push were :

- I got to the FT and perceived it as a success beacuse it was a battle for the last hour to get there
- I was the last in chips ( had 10BB )
- I got a hand which was decent compared to what I was getting in the past hour
- I knew I will be bullied
- I was a little bit frustrated with the hands I was being dealt

Reasons why I shouldn't shove :

- I had no folding equity at all
- I was just transfered to a 10-man table in which effectively I could get more hands that I was getting in the 6-man table before it broke down
- Guy who raised from the SB had no less that AT before when it did come to showdown, and he wasn't stealing
- I didn't analyze the situation

So finally I pushed, the SB had AJ and the flop didn't bring me any luck. I got 200$ for 9th or 10th whatever and a feeling that I messed up hahah.

At least this can help my mood !

Today session.. by RaiZ, January 10

Meh..
-1 bi
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7959/january102k9xf4.jpg
Stats : 11/6 WTSD% : 29.8 W$SD : 38.9%. I'm playing way too much showdown i guess.

Blindy took the 9 worst loses let's see :

Hand 1
+ Show Spoiler +

Mm.. Maybe horrible play on the turn, but got the feeling he was on a draw so i wanted to not give him odds at all.

Hand 2
+ Show Spoiler +

Huh. Dunno. Any thoughts are appreciated i guess.

Hand 3
+ Show Spoiler +

Mm... Probably donk raise wasn't giving him much credit at all + tilt from me i think, anyway it was in the end of the session just after i lost the hand 1 (Stopped right after this)

Hand 4
+ Show Spoiler +

Standard ? Maybe raise more on flop and it's perfect ?

Hand 5
+ Show Spoiler +

No way i could fold on river. Even though there was high chances of him getting TJ, it was the only hand that could beat me, others hands weren't an option at all period.

Hand 6
+ Show Spoiler +

Bah. Horrible play. I seriously need to stop to bluff For Fucking Chris Sake.
No continuate bet, silly miniraise turn which makes almost nonsense, oh god better forget this hand would you ?

Hand 7
+ Show Spoiler +

Oo, Probably missclicking or misstyped the bet amount... Whatever forget it aswell.

Hand 8
+ Show Spoiler +

But why did i call on the flop ? Seriously why ?
What would you do if i did a 3bet and then get called ? How would you play the turn ?

Finally last hand.
+ Show Spoiler +

Finally standard. Good odds to call the river bet right ?

Well hope i'll get better luck and more importantly focusing more on the bet process in order to know if i'm beat or not..
