can you bank xfer $$ to ftp in us?by DarkDevildog, January 26
Just curious to know if you can do that, I know with pokerstars you can deposit $$ on ps directly from your bank account if you give them your routing number and act number and maybe ssn.
Reason I want to play on ftp is rakeback, is it harder to multitable there? I get internet in my room on wednesday (right now I'm using my phone) and don't know if I should regrind from ftp or stars, any suggestions?
I woke up early today thinking my class was earlier then it was. I thought I had an 11:00 class but its not until 12:00. I wanted to go in a bit early to work on some math homework because I have my first test tomorrow. So anyways yea I got up to early so I decided I might as well get in a quick session because I wont be grinding much at all tonight.
Tables were alright. I ended up 3 Tabling NLHE and 2 more tables of PLO. Not many interesting hands. Think I was down a little bit... probably about 1 BI. PLO is such a tricky game but I really like it. I have trouble figuring out where Im at sometimes. I guess it really is board dependent on whether or no a bet here or there is the right line to take. The only shitty hand I had today was this one:

Today I turned on CNN and there was this huge debate on whether or not Public breast feeding was OK.
I don't even understand how there is any argument. I find it very bizarre the human culture has developed to a point where people are so ashamed/afraid of the way we were all born. Almost every "civilized" society has rules regarding the covering of ones' body, certain societies take it to huge extremes to the point where public nudity would get one a death sentence. It's hard to imagine we live in a world where presenting yourself in the manner with which you came into this world would get you taken out of it.
Even in the United States, you can go to jail for being nude. Imprisoned for not wearing clothing. As far as I'm concerned, whether you're a religious person or an evolutionist, it should be understood that God/Evolution created you without clothing, so why the big deal about it?
Obviously I appreciate clothing as they keep me warm and make me look cool, but I have just always found it odd that society has this bizarre preoccupation with nudity. I was watching this documentary where this Muslim guy was talking about how he loves religion and saying that we need it else our women would all be walking around "dressed like whores." This is an interesting theory of course, but it makes me wonder, do they not recognize that Allah, God, or whoever made man naked? If he wanted us to wear clothing perhaps it should grown on trees?
I've brought this up with some people and usually get a response of "WHAT YOU WANT PERVERTS WALKING AROUND FLASHING PEOPLE ALL THE TIME?" or, re: breastfeeding "YEAH WELL PEOPLE NEED TO WHACK OFF TOO BUT THEY DONT HAVE TO DO IT IN PUBLIC" (this might actually be a fair argument).
Obviously, I don't want perverts running around with their wangs flapping in the breeze, and I think it's nice that people generally prefer to be clothed, but rather I wonder what it is that makes it now seem "normal" for societies to have rules punishing people for having their bodies exposed within eyesight of others.
Anyone else ever find this weird? Or am I a huge pervert freak?
Hi guys, Looking to transfer paypal for $ on FTP, Cake, or UB. Being a new member, I will send first and I'll pay a Vig. Trusted members only please. Thank you.
Bad: Actually down like 1.2k in hold'em. Not running superbad or anything, just can't seem to get a break without losing 5+ bi during the next 5 min. And whenever I bluff with backdoors and pick up some equity on the turn people seems to flop trips or better. Annoying.
Good: I'll get like 4k in rakeback so w/e.
Better: Up 5k or so in omaha. (No tracker or anything, but pretty sure it's within 1.5k from that number.)
Dunno if I'll make my goal of 10k profit this month or not, but I'll probably be somewhere close to it. Considering how great December went I'm just happy to make a profit. I feel that I'll need a fresh start of some kind and a new clean month might just be it.
Other then that I'm considering having a white month again. I'm getting more and more fed up with hangovers and drunken debauchery. Can't have that when I'm trying to get rich, no can we?
Not quite sure how many omaha hands I've played this month, since I don't have PT2 omaha and PT3 doesn't work on prima, but I'm toying with the idea of putting like 2k or something on some site on another network and play with like 10bi just to see if I can get a small PLO roll going on a site where there's actually regular action higher then 1/2. Suggestions? Need to be something with a base of operation within the EU.
I ran bad, This is the 4th shot in a row were i run like this. WTF?! It has taken like 2 months for me to build up my roll to take these shots and i always run so fucking bad, I don't know what to do, this sucks and my showdown winnings are 20% over the last 1k hands on NL100, I usually have 52-53%. All the other stats are the same. during the last 1k hands I've lost 6 BI. I've lost 6/6 flips for 100-200bbs during these 4 shots and run like crap overall, don't think i've won a buy-in so far. It'll take take a while for me to motivate myself to take another shot, this just sucks too much.
If you think I missplayed any of the hands plz comment.

I searched for quite a while to find the perfect image of a baller... I couldn't think of anything better than this.
This is something I've been thinking about a lot lately. What does it really mean, to be a baller? What is ballerness? You need money, of course, but money alone is not enough, otherwise you just look like this guy:
I think being a real baller requires some combination of money, women, looks, talent, and charisma. What do you guys think? What's the most important ingredient? Or, post the most ballin' out of control pictures you can think of.
Definitely started to pinpoint some of my leaks today. It's easy to blame coolers and bad beats, (KK vs turned trips, stuff like that) but even beyond that I could see two particular issues.
1 - Calling down too light. Shown Clearly by the negative showdown winnings, even taking into account coolers.
2 - Not playing positional poker enough. I dont think I can blame it on "oh, I got fishy players to my left I'm not going to open light here OTB" b/c my steal rates are getting ridiculously low. I think I'm definitely losing value, not only through steals but by not being paid off when I do have hands.
Felt a bit of tilt when I was up 3bi's and I should have stopped but kept going (I'm sure you guys can relate). All in all, turned a breakeven day into +1bi, so I'm pretty thankful of that.
1490vpps, so I'll hit silverstar tomorrow. Not sure at what point I'll take a NL50 shot, probably aiming for beginning of february'ish after hopefully having put in about 20k+ hands at NL25.
Change my baller LP avatar to lame one.
What is the best LAME avatar. I need to change my favourite LP avatar in order to look lame and weak (which kind of will correspond to my skill since I play low stakes). Any ideas??
edit: FIXED - STRONG PINK :D:D:D
I've been trying to apply what I know at the tables, which isn't a real whole lot.
Now that I got the simplest of concepts down, I kind of want to know more in-depth strategy to apply and further along my poker. There are a lot of websites with poker videos/etc. but I'm not sure which ones are good and which ones are crap.
red is slipping over time, but still running goodby whamm!, January 25
just a 5 days old graph, since getting sweat/coached by my buddy neillyaa, i think i ran good since that 1 session we had. id recommend him to anyone playing 200nl below, he plays really well and gave a nit like me a wider perspective how to open up etc
my roll is nearing 7k from 2.3k to start, so im quite happy about this month, it's funny coz i set goals which are really too small(4k to 5k month) and get small results, i think im shooting for a sick 10k month next coz itll prob happen if i do lol. gl people
Really weird thing, I posted this blog last night but it ended up fusing with a hand that was being simultaneously posted on the right side. The topic name was like "Qc 5c by w1cked" or something but it was in my blog. Oh well, here it is again.
Played a pretty long session last night, tables looked juicy and they indeed were. Overall up a couple BI, which is a good change from all the losing. I should be up a lot more, but I can't complain...
Here are some hands
Not sure if I played this badly or not. Little info about villain, other than the fact that he loves calling 3bets pf and seems pretty loose all around. Also plays very aggressively with draws on flops, which is why I didn't think he had the flush on the turn. His range is mostly medium PPs on turn and I didn't think he plays set like this. + Show Spoiler +

Sorry dont know how to use the spoiler things so its not really easy read.
Playing 16/12/2 for the session.
But well, i make a huge party last night and work all the day so 3hours sleeping doesnt help too.
Btw im looking for a longterm coaching, so if anyone is interested by doing this plz pm me
Thanks for reading and/or giving tips. See ya
Hope everyone had a good weekend. The boys came down again but I really dont have many stories ab out the weekend... just a solid weekend of drinking lol.
I had a hockey game Saturday night and got in my first tilt of the year. I play defence and all game I was sticking the shit out of this guy in front of the net. It went on for about 2 periods then in the third after the whistle blows buddy decideds to punch me in the face.... go time. I ended up getting in a few good licks on the guy before we ended up falling and the refs came in. I should get in more fights... it was fun. Last year I got in 6 fights... this year its almost playoffs and Ive only been in one. Im not sure what it is lol. People in our league just dont go as much any more. A lot of the goons are gone now and its full of a bunch of young kids who think they are going somewhere in hockey but really need a reality check... not going to happen.
In juniours here you can be 16-21. 21 being your over age year and there is only one 16 year old allowed on a team. I guess the average age of players is prolly 18-19. Im 20 yrs old and not exactly the smallest guy in the world but I would say Im not a huge intimidating guy or anything lol. Im 6'1" 195lbs right now. Half the time people just chirp and when you ask them to dance they run away. So instead of fighting I just try and lay a nice big hit on them lol... usually gets the message through. Playoffs start soon and the games usualy get pretty heated so maybe Ill be dropping the mits a bit more lol.
Heres some sweet vids for hockey fights + hits:
Probert vs Mcsorley. Probably one of the longest tilts in hockey. These guys were prolly just gased after this fight.
Brian Campbell just destroys Umberger here with a text book hit... gotta keep your head up.
As for poker Im still going with the NLHE. Things are going great so far and I cant complain. Most players are just weak tight or terrible at the micros. Easily exploitable. I played about 700 hands so far today and Im up around 5 BI's. I was up 7 but I filled up on the river and another guy hit a bigger fullhouse. Oh well pretty standard hand. Im going to be rolled very soon for NL 10 which is sweet. Shitty thing is Im super busy this week at school so I probably wont get in to many hands.
Tonight... Im doing fuck alls. At some point I gotta do a chapter in Math but other then that I think Im just going to finish watching Dexter season 2. This show is pretty sick and Im addicted lol.
