It's been a while since my last blog post, but that's because I didn't play poker for a period of about 3-4 weeks. Summer is coming up in about a week, and I'm going to be playing a ridiculous amount then, so I've been taking a break from the typical 12-tabling grind... HOWEVER, I transferred about $500 over to FTP, mainly because I needed to give rakeback to some friends, and I kinda wanted to play some SNGs and heads up (watched the pr1nnyraiding series on deucescracked). The pot button is really nice when making a lot of 3bets.
rs.wisdom told me one way to get better at hand reading is to play heads up, and I definitely could understand why. It's pretty funny how some people will constantly do the same exact thing with whatever hand they have i.e. draws, nuts. It's REALLY funny when you can tell someone is going on massive tilt and spewing a ton of chip to you. NL50 HU on FTP is pretty hilarious in general, seeing as it's the lowest HU stakes and there are a ton of fish that just want to come in and essentially want to flip with you (fold until you have a hand lol).
Anyways, here are some graphs. That nasty -4bi session was mostly because I was 6tabling as opposed to 2-4 tabling. 4 seems to be my limit, which is pretty funny since I can actually play 24 FR tables. EV is accurate in the sense that I had this awesome suckout, but it's because I'm so awesome at getting trips or two pair allin vs a flush and spiking a boat or quads on the river. Probably happened like 3 times so far. Red line is sad because... fish try to win every pot!
Sooo, i just started playing in Pokerstars, MTTs only. And i have an issue... SO MANY PPL IN THERE! I am not used to playing against 1-4K players and it is a pain in the ass to make a good cash. Only top 15 or stg get paid fine with the top top getting huge sums. So, my Q is how often should expect to cash nice - top 20... I can only imagine how much luck i should have to reach a FT and i was kinda used to it in smaller fields - 300-400 plyrs on Cake. I don't know if i do stg wrong or i am just unlucky (i think it is d latter but still...) so if one of you who have played many of those can tell me stg like a % for how much u cash big and what % u don't do shit and stuff I can kinda get a feeling for what is normal and what is not in such huge fields. Thx.
Yup, came home after read a couple of answers that I had got from my last post.
Asked my self if I played like shit and did'nt have any self-confidence. The answer on those questions were no for both of them. However, I'm not that stupid so I don't realise that a big no on question number two to can lead to a false no on question one, i.e. to big ego can disguise for yourself that you play as a sucker. However I tried to answer the two questions honestly, and this second time the answers was more like no,not like shit but not an A-game either, and second question was still a big no. So I decided to play, lost some to start with, but then I exited from some tables and went down to 4-5 instead of 6 and all of a sudden I started to win. I think my dear friends Jocke and Remember87 might have been right all along that 6tabling doenst allow me to focus as much as I might need on each table and that I've recently developed a mechanic behavior at the tables when I'm multitabling... So from now on I might only play 4-5 tables for a while to see if that might change things around. I think i'm to eager to get a juicy rb but that eager will perhaps cost more then I'll get out of it if I only multitables and don't can stay focused.
SOme thoughts only..now time for some HSP episodes...
So I quit poker almost a year and a half ago and swore to get a real job and stop messing around studying crap I didn't care about. End of 2007 I moved to adelaide, enrolled in BMedSc at Flinders and have been studying hard and working ever since.
A few weeks ago I sat down and watched a bit of poker and decided it was time to get back to it. I have no BR of which to speak so I short-stacked NL10 @ 5BI to see if it's worth my time until I get paid and had some sick results.
Up until the last downswing I think it was 13PTBB/Hr but def got smashed in the end. Only ~6k hands over the last week but that's mainly due to my gf using my desk while I play on my laptop on the couch.
Should be set for BR next tuesday then it's ooooooooooooooooooooooooon.
Been a while since I blogged anything, but honestly that's just because nothing's been going on. I had a small dry spell in tournaments but sunday I put my grinding shoes on and was determined to put up some kind of a result. I almost had a great day but I managed to bring myself up to a profitable month, and now I should be freerolling the rest of FTOPs, which is good with the expensive WSOP coming up.
The first of my friends is coming into vegas on friday, and then the rest of them are coming towards the end of the month. This WSOP should be really fun since I can actually afford to play all of the events that I want to be in. I'm looking forward to a fun and hopefully profitable WSOP. Will update again when I have something to talk about, ttyl blog.
wow i never realized how bad rake is at FTP microlimits until now. example: i stack a donk for 100bbs, pot pushed to me is only 185 bbs... WTF? i can't do this shit!!
also, it does not help that i'm stacking off with ace high, calling flop because i have a read on some player, and then ignoring that read and calling turn (because WOW i CANT FUCKING BELIEVE THAT TURN GAVE HIM TOP PAIR CUZ HE ONLY POTS WHEN HE HAS TOP PAIR), and then the rest of it off on the river on a 772K7 board with A4s vs KTo.
i'm going to rage-join tourneys with this ridiculously small roll left. after i lose it, i'm shaving my head and studying for the cfa exam on the 6th of june.
the idea is to forget about doing anything else besides studying, until it grows back. it's so brilliant.
This month I have been playing a decent amount of poker so far, think i'm up like 10bi in RB. But my game have hit a serious downswing last few days, I have dropped 13,5bi:s.
For the month in total i'm down 3bi:s pretty exactly, excluding rb.
What would you have done?
If you feel you play pretty ok, maybe a bit to loose but can't win a shit when the money has gone into the pot. Taking a paus? Grinding on lower stakes? Grinding on?
Currently my BR holds 36bi:s...
Thankful for some advice what you more skilled and experienced grinders out there use to do in spots like this one. Ty
hey guys I have a 25 dollar visa check card but of course it was rejected by pstars and is under the 50 dollar minimum deposit on full tilt. I was trying to download another client so I could deposit there but my MAC doesn't support any of the other USA poker rooms. Was wondering what I need to run PC programs on a MAC client. I think there are programs out there to make this happen was wondering if you guys could help?
Someone took a picture of me OMGby Fudyann, May 10
Okay so I have this eccentricity that I don't like pictures being taken of me. I punch anyone in the face that points a camera at me. Even if this person is really big, and subsequently breaks my nose. If the photographer is a girl, I might be lenient and just ignore her for the rest of my live instead of punching.
I allowed a girl I really liked and trusted to take a picture of my feet. This was, of course, incredibly naive, as this person took a picture of me in full using the zoom function. When I noticed, I asked her about it. She said "What? It's not such a bad picture. You look cute in it." I pointed out that it's not about taking the picture, it's about tricking me and that I feel like I have to be on my guard around her now. I said that if she wants to tease me by doing something to me that I hate, she should at least be honest about it. I say she should feel ashamed about tricking me. She says "Well but you would have forced me to delete it. I didn't want that." She does not feel guilty about it. She says I should just get over it.
I know it's stupid that I don't want pictures taken of me, and I probably SHOULD get over THAT. However, I really cannot hang out with someone and constantly feel like having to be on my guard. Especially not someone I like(d).
Is it okay of me to be pissed at the sneaky bitch, or should I let it go?
being 24 and still alive is a privilegeby PplusAD, May 10
Just got informed that another person i knew
and who was a classmate of me at collegue for many years died.
he died of cancer 2 weeks ago.
last thing i had contact with him was a PvP on LT for fun that we played ~ 2,5 years ago at a Lan party with friends.
some of my friends made a lan party and played BW all day ( they were all total newbs)
I was invited but originally declined. ( I knew that they were all horrible and that it would not be fun playing them in BW)
However at the evening i decided that i come over and watch them a bit while having some beers.
He was kinda the best BW player of them and so the other guys asked me if i might play him while they watch.
I did so and we played 2 showmatches of PvP on Lt that i both won easily.
That feels so strange in a way that the last thing he and me had in common was a Broodwar match.
He was very special and almost the complete opposite of me at that time
He never smoked a cigarette
he never drank alcohol
he did lots of sports
he had always A grades in collegue
he was always friendly
and now he is dead.
I feel so sorry for him.
Sick life
I am only 24 years old myself
but i could mention at least 15 people i really knew that were my age and allready died
Looking at my past how i was a drug addict and had a very unhealthy crazy youth and so had many of my friends
i am kinda used to see people at my age die.
most of the guys i knew that are dead know were drug addicts and always lived on the edge.
Some of them died due to drugs some due to accidents ( car accidents etc.)
But all of them had in common that they were very extreme people in a way or another
This guy however was totally different.
He never did anything crazy
And then he fucking dies of cancer at the age of 24 ???
Again i am really sorry for him.
I also somehow feel really thankfull that i am alive and healthy after all teh shit i ve done so far in my Life
Where ever u may be now
I wish u Friedrich Heberlein the very best from my heart.
